Is it possible to configure the Android OS to run only a single app?
Basically what I want to do is customize an Android device so that it boots up and runs one application only, and for that application to be switched to the front of the screen automatically. Also, when it gets closed, to be started up and switched to again. Any ideas?

I want to install 2 copies of fb messenger, 1 for each of my 2 accounts......how can I make this possible......I tried decompiling the app, changing app name in manifest.xml and again recompiling. the app installs but when I try to open this, it force closes with an unexpected error......
I know many would suggest to use different messengers for different accounts....others will refer use of multiple profiles of titanium backup.....

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my Droid since they came out last year. Somehow I was able to configure notification lights for Gmail and Handcent, but I don't remember how. I had to wipe my phone and start over and now I can't figure out how I did that. I have Touchdown Pro for Exchange and that allows me to customize the LED for that app, but I can't find the settings for Gmail or Handcent. I know they used to be there, but I can't remember what I did to make them appear. I must have installed a third-party app, but I have no idea what it was. Any idea how I did it? I'd really like to get those notification LEDs back!

When I create an 'Android Library Project' is it OK to put a whole lot of different libraries in there and create a number of different packages?
If I use just one or two components from the library, will it import all the resources and packages or is it smart enough to only import the referenced resources and packages that are needed?
The alternative is to create a single 'Android Library Project' for each component which I don't want to do if I can help it.

So the application basically sends the caller a customized SMS if you do not pick up the phone. Say you call me, and I didn't answer, the phone automatically sends the caller a text that you set up beforehand that could say 'I'm sleeping, I'll call you when I'm awake' or something along those lines.

I have three ListView widgets in the same LinearLayout. Something like this (I'm omitting XML elements that are not relevant in this example):

This forces the list to have a height of 360 dip. Of course, that will be its height even if there are few list items. So, my question is how can make the lists have an automatic height? What I want is that the ListView height takes the exact size of the sum of all its list items.

So I'm guessing that the changes I made in the build.prop file are stopping the update...I put the original back, but notice the file date is different (Yestedays date) than what the original should be...
Wondering if I can extract the original build.prop file from the SBF and put that down without doing the whole reflash...
If not, anyone have a stock 2.1 build.prop file they can Email me so I dont have to SBF and loose everything I have setup now?
