Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Timescape Widget Appearance On Home Screen
May 24, 2010I just got my white X10 a couple of days ago and I'm loving it! Well, asides for one relatively minor issue which is the appearance of Timescape on the home screen. I really liked the transparent look Timescape had with the SE logo prior to setting up facebook and email, etc. Now there's usually someone's FB display picture or an email being displayed, which is nice and all but I don't really like having to it all the time. I'd much rather see it when I want to by just tapping the tile and entering timescape as I'm a fan of the clean look it had before the setup.
I was wondering if there was a way to change the timescape widget's appearance to what it was before I set it up without losing its functions. In other words I want it to work the way it is now but have it look the way it did on the home screen before I set it up. To illustrate what I mean, I would like to change timescape widget from looking like this:

Motorola Droid X :: Phone Screen Appearance
Jul 21, 2010I'm loving my X...I upgraded to an Incredible last month, found out about the X and returned the Incredible for this beast.
The only aspect that I do not love about this phone is the phone screen. I'm not a big fan of the whole interface/appearance of the phone screen with dialpad. Anybody else think this?
And is there an app or skin or something that can change the appearance of this? The Incredible really has the best looking and functioning phone screen/setup.

On my phone, it will only change when I pull out the physical keyboard, which is not really what I'm looking to do most of the time.It changes just fine in all other applications, but the home screen doesn't. Is this a flaw with my phone or a design decision?

Apr 28, 2010When I first picked up this phone, the 2nd to last (6th) screen had default "Shortcuts" screen with Google search, Wiki etc in large beautiful icons that took up 1/4 the screen each.
I accidentally 'cleared' this home screen, yet when I attempt to put back icons for shortcuts, they're all tiny computer icons. Is there a way I can revert this screen back to original large shortcut icons?

However, wandering around here and asking a lot of stupid questions and getting most answered with a great deal of patience has led me to wonder: 1) Can you get scrolling calendars other than the Sense one, without rooting? (I can't find any - I like the CalWidget big one, but it wont scroll). 2) Can you do anything to the main appearance other than change the background, without rooting? I've seen talk about the app 'OpenHome' - but on the market it's marked with low stars as buggy. 3) On 2 - can you remove the names from below the icons? Change the icons (e.g. with a theme) - without putting things into folders? 4) Can you remove options without rooting? E.g. my photo sharing (I've returned to the basic app, as gallery had a few bugs, e.g. with the camera) has 12 options to share (I had more, but I uninstalled different twitter apps and got rid of a few - I still have two facebook shares, peep and tridroid etc), which means scrolling through to find. On the gallery app, which had no scroll for sharing options, some were pushed off the screen. Is there a way to limit it just to the ones I'd use?

Dec 12, 2009I really like the car dock for the Droid, but I find the "Car Home" application to be very annoying.First, there are no options to customize it, and you are stuck with the shortcuts they think I want. Second, you can't even avoid it.I would be okay if you could just hit that home button to go to the regular home screen once everytime you get in the car, but the problem is that every time you end a call and try to go back to the home screen it takes you back to that car-home screen.Has anyone figured out a way to either disable this or select a different app to open when the phone is in the car dock?My ideal situation would be to have the ability to have the QuickDial app open everytime the phone is docked in the car (any have that come up with the home button is pressed while in the car).

The phone is suppose to be fully customizable but it seems that the one thing I have yet to figure out is how to change where my home screen is located. I would much rather have my home screen set as the left most screen instead of having it directly in the middle of my seven available screens. You know, sort of like how the iphone is and what not. Aug 10, 2010I don't text and actually have this feature disabled (I was receiving all kinds of spam and was told I'd either have to disable or pay for the spam texts).
Because of this, the text home screen (second from left when scrolling through the home screens) is useless to me. Is there a way to change the screen so that it's not a "text" screen? I tried adding a different widget and was told there was no space.

Jul 20, 2010I don't know if this is like a default option but i've found thet my X's entire OS goes into landscape mode, including app tray, browser, apps, everything. I haven't downloaded any apps that do this and while its in this mode it wont rotate back to portrait. The only way I could change it back is by rebooting. I haven't found a way to voluntarily recreate this, it just happens, maybe by a certain combination of keys,but I'd like to know how to recreate this. Jul 26, 2010The other day I took a trip, put my X in the car dock, and set Nav to my destination. About an hour into my trip, Nav would intermittently close, and would return to the home screen. However, the app wasn't always completely FC'd, but running in the background, and could be returned to by dragging down the Notification bar and reselecting it. Apr 4, 2010Im on the Rom manager 2.1. It's been working for days now and I backup my roms pretty much every day. Today I installed a new app Vlingo and my apps disappeared off my home screen. I restored from 2 days ago, but I'm getting the same thing. The apps load at first, but within 5 minutes, they go away. Then, if I apply some apps on the now empty screens, they will be on top of the old ones when I reboot.
