So I wanted to install Cyanogen w/ Google apps, but the google apps keeps erroring when downloading. Says the zip is corrupt. So now I have Cyanogen Rom running on phone so I go to Rom Manager and try to install Google Apps (Froyo) and it says the zip is corrupt. Google Apps (Eclair) downloads fine but sends me into a boot loop. I am was running Cyanogen Mod 6.0.2. I'm back on Uncommon Sense now. Is there a fix for this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI want to kill some apps, like calculator, that I have replaced and don't want. Here are the commands (in both Terminal and ADB): su
# rm /system/app/Calculator.apk
rm: remove '/system/app/Calculator.apk'?y
rm: can't remove '/system/app/Calculator.apk': Read-only file system #
Notice the "su" command. It shouldn't be read-only. I really want to unclutter my app drawer. The build is Cyanogen Mod-6-07252010-NIGHTLY-Inc.
I have recently rooted my phone as well as flashed the Cyanogen v6 ROM (FroYo). The only issue I am having is with syncing but not in the usual sense. In everything but the contacts app I can see my google contacts (chompSMSu is an example). I can successfully go into my Gmail and basically anything else Google related. It's only the actual contact list that isn't showing up, even though syncing elsewhere is possible.
I have checked the syncing options, did a factory reset, flashed to a different rom (and come back again) and it still isn't working.
I'd like to confirm if those are apps built by Google for GDoc (Google Documents) GTask (Google Task)Any apps for integrating with Google Picasa? If you know any other Google apps,

View 6 Replies View RelatedIs anyone aware of a listing of apps that require Android 2.1 to run (e.g. apps like Google Goggles, etc.)? I've searched the threads here at Android Forums and elsewhere and haven't been able to find such a list or site.
Now that I upgraded to 2.1, I'd like to "see what I've been missing" and take advantage of the new OS.
I use Google hosted apps with my own domain for e-mail, calendar, chat, etc. and I use the e-mail address from that with my main Google account as well. So, both my Google account and hosted apps account use the same address. I had no problem setting up my account on my phone when I got it Friday, but I've been running into a few issues. First off, every time I try to buy an app in the Market, it asks me to set up a Google account to associate it with, even though I already have. Also, when I try to use Google Listen, it asks the same thing. Is there a way around this, or will I have to create a separate Google/GMail account?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've never understood the appeal of Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, etc. Google Buzz caught my interest only because it appears in things I already use on my Droid - Google Maps and Google Reader (via the browser). In Google Reader I can clearly see who I'm logged in as - the name appears at the bottom of the screen; it's my Google Account. I assume this works via a cookie in the browser. The only account I have setup on my phone itself is my Google Apps account, and the email address for this account is different than that of my Google Account. While out sledding with my kids today, I felt the urge to buzz, and attach a picture. I couldn't see how to do that through the browser interface, so I opened Google Maps. It appears that I can post to Buzz in Google Maps, and even attach a picture. The only problem is that I can't see any buzz other than my own via Google Maps, but I can see more buzz via the browser, but none of what I posted.I think somehow Google Maps is using my Google Apps account for Buzz, but it's not actually working. Anyone have a clue as to what's going on here?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a main Google account under my own domain. I spent ages getting all my contact details - Google contacts was only email addresses, I also had SIM numbers, phone numbers and proper address book in Palm Desktop. I finally managed to get it all into Google contacts and even merge all the doubles (lots and lots). Only to find out that the Google contacts being synced was not the one for my main Google mail account (under Google apps).
1) what account is being synced?
2) is there any other way to restore my windows contacts/phone numbers (HTC sync won't work :-(
3) does anyone actually understand exactly what my Hero is doing with the various sources of contacts?
I have a rooted HTC Evo with the stock 2.2 system, and I am considering installing Cyanogen Mod 6, but I'm not sure if it is worth the hassle. What benefits does CM6 have over the rooted version of Froyo on the Evo. I kind of like the Sense UI, so that keeps me from going ahead and installing it. I know that Bluetooth controllers actually work in emulators if you use CM6, so that is a major selling point for me. Is there anything else I should know?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running the latest version of Cyanogen Mod on my evo and LOVEit! However, I have yet to be able to install a theme on my phone. I was under the impression that it was just like flashing a ROM to my phone and that I could even use ROM Manager to do so, but I just can't seem to figure out how to do it. Here's a current screenshot of my main home screen: Basically, all I want to do is to be able to turn the notification bar black. I'd like for all the menus and popups and whatever else to be black as well, but I would settle for just the notification bar.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAccording to: What's changing : About the conversion - Accounts Help, Google will be merging Apps Accounts and regular accounts. Anyone know how this might impact Android? I currently use an Apps account and a regular account both with a myname@mydomain.com login. Once I got the hang of which services used apps vs, regular vs. both (and how to tell which one I was using for what), this seems to work OK on the desktop. But on Android certain services like Checkout seem to only work with @gmail.com accounts. I wonder if this change will make things more or less confusing on Android.

View 14 Replies View RelatedAre there any developers online working on getting this thing rooted? Im currently an eris user and it took forever to get that thing rooted. And Im loving it for now, but im aware of its current limitations. But since I been rooted, I pretty much have an irish twin of the incredible. live wallpapers with sense, and all of the 2.1 features. Id be totally psyched about purchasing an incredible (would have to be bought at full price though), rooting it and using cyanogen mods on it. What a glorious day that would be, when that its possible. Right now I'm not too concerned with the incredible just yet. I'm not frustrated enough with my rooted eris to want to forsake it for its replacement. Have fun with your new devices though people.
