All of a sudden, yesterday, my apps won't download or update! I hit the update button (or download) and it exits me back into the home of the market place, and I wait. I wait. And I wait. Nothing. I look back on the page and it is stuck on "Starting download..." Also, the "Google Talk" solution won't work for me - Talk just exits back to the home screens when I touch the icon.

Just like the topic says. I had Froyo Android 2.2 and did do a successful download to android 2.1 and everything works but the market. Occasionally it will download a app or two but then it just gets stuck and never will download anything. I'm guessing this has something to do with being on 2.2 then downgrading to 2.1. It is a google server issue or something on my phone?

I am pretty disappointed that I have run out of internal space and I don't even have a tenth of the apps I was hoping to get. Is there a way I can download them to the SD card without rooting my phone or waiting for the froyo update?
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor some reason earlier today I was able to update an app then somone made a suggestion to try a keyboard app when I went to download it, it would just keep cycling I tried downloading something completely different and update another app and it's doing the something. I have done a couple of battery pulls, resets, and cleared the data from the app market by going thru setting(googled that one). Does anyone have any suggestions what to do next or what maybe causing it?
View 11 Replies View Relatednot sure if this is the right forum for this but i just switched from droid incredible to droid x. it is rooted running 2.2. i downloaded some apps from the market no problem, but now whenever i try it downloads to 100% and then that's it, it doesn't bother trying to install. installing an application through astro works though. i ahve no clue what's going on, rebooted a couple times already.

I have downloaded apps from the Android Market, but last night and today, my phone will get into a state where I will select an app to download, it will tell me to watch the notification bar for download status, and nothing will happen. If I select the app in the store to look at the download progress, it just says: "downloading...." with the animated bar, but never downloads. I tried turning off the phone and turning it back on, and that seemed to correct the problem for one download, but then subsequent downloads won't start up. I have barely installed any apps on it, and I'm not really sure what the problem is. Is this a known issue with the Android Market, or do I have something wrong with my phone? Has anyone else encountered this and know why it's happening?

Also, Beautiful Widgets and the southpark photohunter (something a friend tried to download for a reason unknown) are in a constant state of downloading. When I try to cancel the downloads, market simply offers the "Sorry! the application market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again." pop up.Along with those problems, I tend to get a security update change notification at least 2 or 3 times for the email application (not the google one) every time I restart my phone.After searching forums the first day I encountered these problems (when I got the bb update) I decided to just ignore the problems until people had time on their own with their new setup.

View 24 Replies View RelatedI'm using "AppBrain App Market". I have installed a bunch of apps, but some get stuck and just stay in "Downloading" state. They just never finish downloading. I see the progress bar "barbershop pole" style but there is no sign of progress. Some are new installations, some are updates.
This is despite the fact that some apps HAVE successfully downloaded and installed. What could the problem be? How do I resolve this?
Cancelling the download and restarting the download resolved the problem once. (Downloads / click on neverending download item, Cancel Download)
But if the button series is (Downloads / click on neverending download item, *Installing*). Then the Installing button is greyed out then I'm stuck.

I am coming up on my 30 day return deadline and want to see if my phone might have a hardware problem (hoping it doesn't) or if it's normal that i've got temps of up to 118 degrees. While idle or sleeping, the temp is of course low but once I start to fiddle with the phone, I see the temp go up and up quickly. Right now it's at 104.4F after about 5-10 minutes on my phone (web browsing, downloading apps, etc.) It is usually between 100F and 110F and sometimes the kickstand is hot to the touch. I feel like it gets abnormally hot in a short amount of time. Hottest it ever got was about 118F while playing home run battle 3D and my LED alternated which meant it was overheating. There isn't a day that the phone does not get hot. Also, I do have a case on it which might contribute to the heat a bit. What are your normal temps while using the phone?

I've seen the Android Scripting Environment, but this needs the actual C scripting engine (Python or Lua) running as a separate process. I would like the runtime to be a Java app itself, like JavaScript using Rhino (and not using a WebView). Another way is to download Java code dynamically. But, Android does not support jar downloading and dynamic classloading, since these bytecode class files are not used directly.
