View 8 Replies View RelatedI've had my X10 mini for a few weeks now and it's been working fine, but this weekend i noticed that when i plugged it in to the mains using the charger it failed to start charging. I also tried just using the USB connection with my PC but it also doesn't recognize it. My phone has now died and i have no way of making it work again! Infuriating! Has anyone else had a problem with this? The way i see it, i either have a faulty charging cable or the micro USB port has failed (a problem i jhave read is common in the x10?)
View 1 Replies View Relatedyesterday, I spent several hours trying to figure out how to capture the HEADSET_PLUG intent with a BroadcastReceiver. The manifest defines the <receiver>, with its intent-filter set to <action android:name="android.intent.action.HEADSET_PLUG" />.
The receiver is working correctly (I verified that by changing the intent filter to capture things like SMS_RECEIVED including the proper permissions and the receiver fired as expected on receiving an SMS), but when listening for HEADSET_PLUG, it never fires. Debugging the whole thing is a bit complicated, as the emulator doesn't seem to support headsets and I have to disconnect my target device (a HTC Dream) from USB in order to attach a headset (so there's no logfile viewing). Are there any special permissions required for applications to capture the HEADSET_PLUG intent (and if so, which? I've tried several, to no avail)?
Maybe the Dream doesn't fire such an intent at all (that'd be bad luck for me), but I guess that it must be an issue related to application permissions. The documentation says extremely little (well, actually: nothing) about the single permissions needed to perform all the actions described in the API docs, so this is absolutely something to be improved.
What I want to do: Upon detecting a headset, I want to re-route the ringtones from the speakers to the headset, so as not to annoy people in my vicinity by a harsh ringing sound (I'm used to this behaviour from my old phone) - by default, the speaker just keeps on ringing, no matter whether a headset is attached or not. This part is already working, but now I need to know how to detect headset attachment/ detachment events.
My phone died this morning on the way to work. When I charged the battery a bit and turned it back on, it was in safe mode. I've restarted the phone multiple times and it's still in safe mode. I have also shut it down completely and then restarted it, but to no avail. AND I have removed the battery and still, nothing. How can I disable safe mode?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've noticed when the phone goes into standby mode (press the right power button), the 3G eventually turns off. Is there a way to prevent that from happening? I'm assuming I can't get any notifications (i.e. Instant Messenger clients, Google Voice, etc.) while the 3G is off, but not sure. I'm also assuming 3G goes into sleep mode, as when I power the phone up I don't see the 3G icon (is that assumption correct?).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am currently searching to set out an issue I encounter. I am developing an Application on Android which have to download a lot of data and then be unused for a while.
During the download, the device is locked and switch to a kind of idle mode that close the wifi connection. I don't find out anything about it so I need your precious help.
I would want to programmatically disable this idle mode. Is it possible, what sould I do for it?
I've searched how to disable immersive mode in KitKat, and found nothing but topics on how to enable immersive mode.
In some games, immersive mode is annoying, since you'll swipe an area of the game interface near the immersed status bar, and the status bar will appear while gaming.
Is there an app, mod, or setting that can disable immersive mode?
, you can swipe either from the top or the bottom to reveal the status- and navbar in Immersive Mode. Now would it be possible (preferably with Xposed) to disable one of these gestures? For example, you don't want to accidentally.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to control the system settings "auto brightness", setting it ON or OFF.I'm able to control the brightness level but only if AUTO is OFF. From what I read until now there is a SCREEN_BRIGHTNESS_MODE in Settings.System but only for API level 8 or higher and also not recommended to mess wit it. But currently my phone has Android 2.1 (API 7) and there are widgets that can control this setting (enable/disable auto brightness and set the level). How is this done?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm running a d1 with LFY on it and wanted to see how widget locker runs for everyone else. Its cool but its also somewhat irritating. The most irritating this is I have "easy wake mode" disabled but I notice that still like 10% of the time touching the volume or camera button will wake the phone.I wind up with my phone buzzing around in my pocket frequently because its woken up and thinks i'm trying to unlock it.The other issue I have is it seems to get killed a lot.I realize that isn't really a fault of WL as much as its a ram issue (launcher pro gets killed a little more often than I'd like too despite trying what seems like every possible memory setting) but is there anything I can do about that?Something that will perhaps be sure its relaunched more promptly?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had been using rubiX Focused 0.5, but just tried to install, in order as listed: DX Black Tranquility 2.3.9, Fabolous REVOlution Froyo DX R2, Evolution Font. Now I had used Bootstrapper to install the zips listed above. My problem is that the Tranquility animation pops up in place of the "M" logo, and it appeared that it had all taken hold (black notification bar, different fonts, quick, etc). I went into my phone's info via settings and it is still showing that rubiX Focused 0.5 is active? Also, ROM Manager is stating the same. Before installing any zips, I had wiped system/factory reset and wiped cache, then installed via Clockwork Recovery.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo, I use Chomp for sending SMS and I've noticed something odd has started happening. Every so often when I start to type a message to someone a www pops into the text box. It just shows up attached to the front of the first word I type. This doesn't happen every time, but it's been happening on a semi-regular basis.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm curious if anyone else has this problem. When an event pops up for the google calendar, it goes into the notifications and shows on my desktop widget. If I click the widget, or go into the calendar, it shows that event. The only option here is to delete, not to dismiss and I can't get to the monthly view unless I delete (even exiting and clicking on the Calendar icon just comes back to this screen).
Obviously I don't want to delete every entry in my calendar when their time is reached. The only way to dismiss the events and get back to my calendar is to go to the notifications bar in the phone and clear the notifications, or dismiss the events there. Anyone else having this problem?
I'm fairly new to android programming and I'm writing a simple app that performs some math calculations. I'm having the user enter some information in a couple edittexts. When the keyboard pops up though, it covers the submit button on the bottom. I can make the entire layout scrollable, but then you can scroll too far. How do I make it so that, when the keyboard is up, you can scroll down to see other information (like buttons, textviews, etc)?

I was extremely excited to get my Froyo upgrade, because our work website to download sales numbers, etc uses Flash (another problem in itself). The web page loads to the login, and I can place the cursor into the user name field but no keyboard pops up to enter data into. Any ideas?
