Every once and a while when im doing something the screen will flash then a black screen comes up with HTC on it then the phone resets the home screen like when it is first turning on does anyone know what this is

I'm fairly new to android programming and I'm writing a simple app that performs some math calculations. I'm having the user enter some information in a couple edittexts. When the keyboard pops up though, it covers the submit button on the bottom. I can make the entire layout scrollable, but then you can scroll too far. How do I make it so that, when the keyboard is up, you can scroll down to see other information (like buttons, textviews, etc)?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to be able to adjust my UI screen on Android when the soft keyboard pops up.
So at the minute I have something similiar to the first picture below where I have and EditText at the bottom of the screen and when a user taps the EditText I want the same as what happens in the second picture.
That is that the EditText gets moved up and appears to "sit" on top of the soft keyboard, when the soft keyboard dissapears it should then return to its prior state.
Can anyone let me know the best way to approach and implement this?
Is there any way to change the layout/look of the screen that pops up when someone calls you?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a multimedia dock and, of course, when I insert the phone in the dock the Clock/Weather screen pops up and I like that, but if I have to run something and switch out of them MM dock how do I get back to the Clock/Weather screen without physically removing the phone from the dock and reinserting?

So, I use Chomp for sending SMS and I've noticed something odd has started happening. Every so often when I start to type a message to someone a www pops into the text box. It just shows up attached to the front of the first word I type. This doesn't happen every time, but it's been happening on a semi-regular basis.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm curious if anyone else has this problem. When an event pops up for the google calendar, it goes into the notifications and shows on my desktop widget. If I click the widget, or go into the calendar, it shows that event. The only option here is to delete, not to dismiss and I can't get to the monthly view unless I delete (even exiting and clicking on the Calendar icon just comes back to this screen).
Obviously I don't want to delete every entry in my calendar when their time is reached. The only way to dismiss the events and get back to my calendar is to go to the notifications bar in the phone and clear the notifications, or dismiss the events there. Anyone else having this problem?
I'm getting used to the touch screen but it doesn't half stress me at times. (My fat Lincolnshire sausage fingers certainly don't help)I often struggle with the keys on the edge of the screen. I don't know why that would be. Oh, and the most strange phenomenon is when a left hand finger, despite trying repeatedly, fails to click a button so I try my right hand and it works first time (or vice versa). Anyone else find this or should I book myself in at the lunatic asylum?

i know a little bar on the right side shows up but it's not the easiest thing to use.
I notice on my eris that when i am on a menu with a black background that if i hit my back (bottom button) a little firmly, right above the button on the lcd kind of changes colors. Like if you press your laptop screen, its only a little bit though. If you could, please try this and report back.
View 10 Replies View Relatedso ive been using better keyboard since I had my Eris..I just noticed it started to do something annoying that it did on the Eris..and it just came out of nowhere. when I'm typing a text, ill type my first letter, hit space, and then for ni reason at all it switches to the 123 number symbol view...for no reason. its so annoying. any ideas?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHey guys, something is going on with my keyboard. I'm currently using the stock keyboard. You know when you put your finger on a letter and you get the box hovering over telling what letter you are pressing? For some reason mines not showing up when I use the keyboard in portrait mode. But when I go to the number pad or w/e they show up again. When the keyboard is in landscape mode, it doesn't suffer from any of these problems. The only thing I did with the keyboard was install the thick fingers keyboard to test it out and then I installed it. Can you guys help me out?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I just got my phone two days ago and I have auto brightness set which works well. What I do notice though, and it might just be in my head because I read the issues with the pink hue on the screens, is the following.When using the phone normally it looks great, the screen looks really nice. When you place the phone down and have the screen timeout set (I have mine set to one minute) a few seconds before it goes to sleep mode it dims the screen, and if I'm on my main home screen it looks fine, however, if I'm on a page where there is a lot of white like a white background, it seems as though the screen takes on a weird hue right before it shuts off. I wouldn't say it is a pink hue, but it is definitely a weird hue. It isn't that big of a deal because like I said, it only happens before the screen automatically times out. Anyone else experiencing this? If so, what are your settings (screen timeout time, is auto brightness on or off)?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI wrote a home screen widget with one image on it. When the image is clicked, browser will be opened for a url link.
Generally, it is working. But a weird thing is that, when I click background, then click the picture, the browser will not be open. Until I click the second time on the picture, the browser opens. The steps to reproduce is below:
Click on the home screen widget background.
Click on the image on the home screen. The browser is not opened.
Click on the image again. The browser is opened.
If I didn't click on the background, the image will react to click very well, i.e. browser will be open when the image is clicked the first time.
The widget XML file is as below:

I have a weird problem, has anyone seen this before, I get random text messages and they say /Brew:01013D82:27110L N bhpbear_2000 And then this really long code of letters some CAP, most not and ends with Anyone seen this before? I get them randomly, and to me it seems like it�s sending me my coordinates, and bhpbear_2000 is my yahoo. Any clue? I searched it here, BREW SMS messages and it says it might be from backup assistant, anyone else know anything about this? I'm tired of these text.

Turn on Vlingo In-Car.
Turn on Bluetooth headset and pair it w/ your phone.
Make a phone call and then hang up.
TURN OFF YOUR BLUETOOTH HEADSET.
WHen I do that, my phone RESETS. I think it's only w/ Vlingo in car on, regular bluetooth doesn't do that. (ALTHOUGH, my phone resets if I use gps, charge, use bluetooth, and talk at the same time....) Let me know if it's only an Incredible thing, or HTC thing, or all android thing...

Maybe I should ask how to build transparent aluminum for my little fishies. I can't find any way to get this keyboard back. Did a Factory data reset, same thing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had been using rubiX Focused 0.5, but just tried to install, in order as listed: DX Black Tranquility 2.3.9, Fabolous REVOlution Froyo DX R2, Evolution Font. Now I had used Bootstrapper to install the zips listed above. My problem is that the Tranquility animation pops up in place of the "M" logo, and it appeared that it had all taken hold (black notification bar, different fonts, quick, etc). I went into my phone's info via settings and it is still showing that rubiX Focused 0.5 is active? Also, ROM Manager is stating the same. Before installing any zips, I had wiped system/factory reset and wiped cache, then installed via Clockwork Recovery.

Then i deleted all my sms but i still get same error. Then a dude in a story sed like:

I was extremely excited to get my Froyo upgrade, because our work website to download sales numbers, etc uses Flash (another problem in itself). The web page loads to the login, and I can place the cursor into the user name field but no keyboard pops up to enter data into. Any ideas?

View 1 Replies View RelatedNot sure where to put this one folks but here goes. I loaded HTC Sync to my PC the other day and ever since the hourglass pops up about every 4-5 seconds on my computer. It's like there's a process that keeps starting up and shutting down and it's screwing with my PC like no other. Well, using Task Manager, I was finally able to track it down to a process called "FsynSrvStarter.exe". Took me forever to figure it out b/c it only displayed for a fraction of a second, then disappeared again. Once I got enough the name to do a Google search, I found a few forums where it had been identified as a glitch within the HTC Sync software. I had just done a Windows update and was attributing it to that!
Bottom line, I had to uninstall HTC Sync in order to rid my machine of the problem which was fine b/c I really loaded it for the drivers anyway. Just wanted to get this out there for others who might be experiencing this issue. I'm not sure if it's specific to Windows version or not but I'm running XP32 SP3.
In my layout, there is a TextView at the bottom of the screen. The problem is that when I click inside the text box to type something, the keyboard covers the text box as a result of which I am not able to see what's happening... Is there any solution for this? Here's my layout...
