I noticed now when I press the power button to wake the phone, the bottom capacitive buttons will light up first then the display will light up. there's a noticeable lag but very short. noticeable enough from 2.1.

Is there a way to extend the delay of the pattern/PIN screen lock to several hours? Lock Delay does this for 2.1, but I read that it doesn't work well with Froyo.
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecieved the Froyo update last night. Hit install, every thing went well up untill the reboot. Stuck on Motorola screen. Took out the Battery ,, nothin still stuck on Motorola screen. Took it to Verizon they couldnt figure it out, Talked to Tech support which is really good at Verizon by the way. They were stumped. So in the end they are sending me a Brand new DX, with an extra SD card and Battery. Not a refurb. So I feel lucky at best.
View 2 Replies View RelatedRunning into another issue regarding my S4 here. Before the 4x2 clock widget I had would always be in sync to that of my carrier's time. Now, when I scroll around my phone or go back to check the time or even after unlocking my device, the widget is a good minute or two behind of my actual provider's time. It takes itself about 30 seconds to correct itself, I was just curious if there is anything I can do to fix this issue?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am working on a game that displays its graphics through a modified SurfaceView.The game scrolls around a map based on the location of the main character.That all works fine.I am trying to add a feature to the game that allows you to touch the screen and drag the camera around to see other parts of the map.This is where I am running into trouble.The game's SurfaceView overrides 'public boolean onTouchEvent (MotionEvent event)'to call another method in the game's thread which handles the events.Sometimes, this works fine (although the frame rate drops significantly while the screen is touched).Other times, there will be a delay of several seconds before the game responds to a touch event, during which time the game continues, but the user loses all control.During these delays, a message sometimes appears stating that my activity is not responding, and giving the options to 'Force close' or 'Wait'.If the user selects 'Wait', the game almost always resumes right away, but these delays are obviously not acceptable.The delays occur only the first time the screen is touched after the game is started.Once the game has resumed after a delay, the touch events work just fine again.

I do have a problem/query which I can't find an answer for.
My screen goes dim after 10 seconds of no use and then a few seconds later turns off and locks the phones.
How can i extend this - when reading from the web, it takes me longer than 10 seconds to read stuff but I have to keep touching the screen.
I have found the settings to adjust the delay on the screen itself blanking, but when using the phone in the dark, the backlight behind the home, menu, back, etc, keys turns off too quickly. I might be reading and email and want to go back, but by the time I have read it, the keys are dark.
Is there a way to adjust this setting?
1) when press the home or power button to screen on, it is quite delay?
2) when I want to end called, I must press power button, the phone screen only light on, then must double tap to unlock screen, only can press the end button to end call. Is there got any easy way like other phone? Like the phone can auto light on when take away from ear?
3) I have using the software update to update, but still the same, just want to check DXLG1 and DDLI1, which is more latest? DDLI1 is belong to which country firmware?
A Tasker task that when I'm on the lockscreen, I can tap or double tap to turn the screen off. I've looked in the Tasker tasks and I'm unable to find anything for this. I already use the Nova gesture+ScreenOff app to turn the screen off when I'm unlocked and at the homescreen, which works perfectly. The only thing Nova can't do it turn the screen off from the lockscreen.

When I go to Settings/Applications/Running Applications the updater for that widget is active. I have not found a way to permanently get rid of the Dual CLock update service upon reboot. I know how to manually stop it from running but don't want to have to do that every time my phone starts up. What a pain. Since it's not an app it cannot be deleted.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOn my htc i was looking through display, i see g sensor calibration and i perform this calibration and after i do so the screen seems to have a delay when switch from the horizontal position to the vertical position. its weird because when i switch to the phone horizontally it switch normally and responds fast. but when i switch back to vertically it takes almost 7 seconds to actually switch back, sometimes it switch within 2 or 3 secs but never as quick as switching horizontally.

Now at this step the phone is not turning on and whenever i press the power key, red notification light is blinking 3 times and nothing else is happening.

Happens once or twice every couple of days (could be more often but I don't stare at it the whole time). No notifications or calls coming in. I suspect it maybe one of the apps syncing or something, but as this happens so rarely it's hard to determine which.

However, the screen never comes on! The app only actually comes back to life when I hit the power button to wake up the screen manually.I'm developing on an HTC Hero.

My instinct has already been to push the On/Off button to turn the display back on, but this also hangs up the call.I also find it VERY cumbersome that by default the numeric keypad is not there, a ALOT of calls are "push 1.. push 2 " type automated calls.
View 20 Replies View RelatedIve had a rooted Alcatel One Touch Fierce for about a month. Just recently a Tmobile update downloaded and i installed it. My phone rebooted and ever since then my screen turns off or goes black everytime i turn the screen on. For example when i press the lock button to wake my phone it will display for at least a second then go black but the touch is still functional so id have to navigate by guessing where everything is then pop the screen on for a second to see where i am. The only exception is when i bring up my keyboard or edit settings like when a slider pops up for brightness. I can see the android startup screen until its fully rebooted and i can see the recovery mode. Ive reformatted my data and cache. It is also not the timeout setting. I cant find anything about this issue anywhere.

When i press the lock button on the phone which is roughly 2 months old, the lockscreen goes of for a second nd then automatically turns on stating tht swipe to unlock, life companion and etc.
This problem only started after I bought JuiceDefender and I think I have all the settings set up properly so I'm not sure why this is happening. In the Android settings I have it set for a 30 second timeout, but for some reason my screen will fade brightness, but never go off completely.

Sometimes would just turn on and be unlocked (I don't have it password locked, so it would open to the desk top without having to swipe) And if left alone, it will go to dark after 1 minute. It has cycled through this on/off 3 or 4 times, all without me touching the phone at all.If I power it down, it appears to solve this until.I don't know what, but eventually it will go through this routine again.

Is there any way to turn off the screen before the timeout occurs (assuming this will happen at all). Simply put, I need to shut down OpenGL before the phone has a chance to detach the GPU. The only events I seems to be getting when the screen turns off are onPause() and onWindowFocusChanged both of which turn up *after* the GPU detaches, by which time it's too late.
