After the update, all of a sudden I get the problem that as soon as I turn on WiFi I get the message "unable to scan for networks" and then it switches WiFi off.

Anyone sharing my problem? Almost every morning when I check my phone it has turned of the "phone feature" by it self, and by phone feature I mean the way to be able to make or recieve a phone call.When I turn on the display, mini pro ask me for the PIN-number and when I give it that, then everything works fine again... until next morning.I don't know when during the night this happen...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've experienced quite a lot of problems with the WiFi after updating the Andriod. Everytime I try to connect to my home-network i get that it failed to connect.
The phone didn't have any problems with this before the update.
Anyone had the same kind of problem, or anyone that has a smart fix for it?
My X10i keeps dropping its WiFi conection. It is in an "excellent" signal strength area. I can now see that is related to my poor mobile network coverage at home. When the mobile network signal drops, then the WiFi turns off and the turns on again, scans and reconnects. When the mobile network connects again (after a minute or two) the WiFi turns off, then on again, scans and reconnects. This cycling is happening every minute or two. Which leads to lots of frustrating network errors. Things improve if I turn off 3G and set network to GSM only.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been doing a lot of browsing of sites such as youtube on my phone. I thought this was all happening via the wifi connection to my home network, however I have discovered it has been doing it from 3G as well, since it has eaten up a lot of money on my phone.
The question is how do I enable Internet browsing on wifi as default (when wifi connections are present) rather than through 3G?
This is really important since it seems to have cost me a fortune, when I could have been browsing for free at home. I have the X10mini pro and am running Android 2.1
I tried to update the phone by connecting it to computer thru PC companion and followed the instructions till the time it asks to disconnect the phone from computer remove battery for 5 secs and turn on again.
Now at this step the phone is not turning on and whenever i press the power key, red notification light is blinking 3 times and nothing else is happening.
When I'm at home, I keep my 3G data services turned off. I have a wifi connection and the 3G connection isn't very good inside my house anyway. For some reason, every time I open Android Market, it tells me I have to turn on data services, even if I'm connected already to wifi, and then it keeps interrupting because of the poor 3G connection. Is there any way to force this application to use wifi? I have no problem with other applications.

View 3 Replies View RelatedGot a brand new phone yesterday. Upgraded it to Android 2.1 before using it. In general, phone is functioning properly, however none of the applications (i.e. YouTube, Gmail, Maps) will work over the 3G connection, but the Web Browser does function ok. The apps will work over WiFi (which isn't much use if you're trying to use maps or gmail on the go). I have tried restarting phone (battery out restart). It is not a signal strength issue, I am getting HSPA with full bars and it still times out with "no connection detected" (or variations thereof, depending on the actual application). I can work around this using the web browser based clients for these apps, but as they aren't streamlined they are a PITA to use.

Interestingly it connects to wiki in my school network. At home, it scans, finds the network, says "connecting" and goes to "Disconnected" status. Setting static IP does not work, selecting Wifi network and Connect does not work.

The download gets to near completion and then I receive an error message. I tried updating via PC Companion and the update available on the site (version 2.10.10.9) but the same problem occurs. View 7 Replies View RelatedThis sunday (10/10/10) my X10 mini said an update was ready and I went forward at updated my phone (Firmware = 1.6, Core = 2.6.29, Version = 1.2.A.1.174). After this update the battery consumption is more than horrific. Even at standby the phone doesn't last more than 24 hours, this was NOT the case prior to the update. The phone itself and its functions works fine.

T-Mobile only approved the update yesterday so I went to update it via PCC after updating PCC and Backup And Restore.Before I started updating, I backed it up. Now I started the updating process and I was on step 2. It asks me to remove the USB cable from the phone and turn it off. Then insert the cable back in WHILE holding the Back key. When I do this, nothing happens except PCC tells me that they can sense a Sony Ericsson phone. I've tried doing it more than 5 times and it's the same thing over again.

In the settings, I have it set to check for updates everytime I connect the phone, and when I check for updates via the handset it says there's an update available and I should check PC Companion.I did an update anyway, even though it said my phone is fully up-to date to see if that would put 2.1 on, but it's still at 1.6.any idea why PCC is not prompting me?

I borrowed a windows computer and updated to 2.1. Everything seemed fine until today. I noticed that the backup hadn't saved my email details so I attempted to setup it up from scratch to my isp's pop3 server (Zen Internet). I input my details over and over and kept getting server not found/ authentication wrong. Then I realised one of my password letters should have been capitalised... So, I thought that'll be it. reentered my details but this time the continue button won't work... No amount of pressing gets even an error message. So, I turned the phone on and off...Still no good and now the phone can't find the setup guide that I carefully copied over to a new 16gb mini sdcard...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my Xperia x10 mini pro today and so far I have noticed that my email doesn't update itself, I have to do it manually but it seems like the phone should be able to do that. I use a hotmail account on my phone and I would like to know if the email can update itself, if I have to wait for 2.1 to have this problem resolved or if it's just something that I'm missing. And sometimes the phone will say "Does not connect" when I do try to update it but it hasn't done it in the last few hours. In addition, there isn't any change in my real email account. I could read an email on my phone and still half an hour later that very same email will be considered new and unread.

Earlier in 1.6 after I look for a contact and view it and press back. It used to come to that position itself but now whenever I press back after viewing a contact, it goes back to the initial position of contacts (i.e. the contacts starting with letter A).
Example in 2.1, if I view a contact (say named "xyz") and press back, it takes me to the starting list of contacts but no such problem was there in 1.6 version. That is after I press back, it took me to the same list of contacts I was viewing earlier (in this case xyz,xy** etc.)
There is no Linux version of Pc Companion? Is there another way to update? It seems odd to me that a phone that uses a Linux kernel only allows you to update using windows? The phone manufacturers are happy to use a free and open source OS but have no interest in providing for the Linux community? Shame on them...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had notification saying I had to update my phone software. I backed up my settings then plugged my phone to my PC and started the update. Followed every instruction and restored my settings back to my phone. I checked on the ABOUT PHONE in the SETTINGS section and noticed that my phone has not been updated at all. Firmware version is still 1.6. Build Number is 1.2.A.1.174. And to top it off........every time I get a delivery report of my credit balance.......the £ sign has been replaced by a white diamond with a ? sign inside it!
View 13 Replies View RelatedI created a gmail account when I got this phone purely because it asked me to (usually I use hotmail), then started a new job, where my boss said she uses gmail to communicate. Everytime I checked my gmail on the phone it woudn't tell me MY email address, (because, I shoulda known it) but I couldn't remember what it was, so I made a new gmail account, and started using it at work. I didn't want to have two accounts so when I found out what the original account was (in the phone). I went online on my computer and deleted the account, intending to replace it with the newer one. However since deleting the old email account, I can no longer update any apps, or buy any new apps. It continously asks for the old gmail's password, but won't accept it when I've entered it.
