HTC EVO 4G :: Charging Phone Stops When Text Comes
Aug 23, 2010When I receive a text message while charging the charging stops until I close the pop up for handcent. Does anyone else have this problem or know a fix for it?

Android :: SMS Text Log Is So Long That Phone Often Freezes And Stops Responding
Jul 12, 2010On my Samsung Moment, me and my girlfriend's SMS text log is so long that my phone often freezes and stops responding 2 or 3 times before I can finally read something she just sent. We're talking almost 5000 messages here. I don't want to just delete them all so it goes faster tho, I'd really like to log them away in case I ever want to read them again. Does anyone know how I can do this? I couldn't seem to find them by just browsing the phone during usb connection.

May 31, 2010So like everyone else I have to unplug my phone every morning and plug it back in until the light turns green once more to get a full charge. I'm am 99.99% positive that the incredible just stops charging once it reaches 100%.Every morning I unplug it and within 3 minutes it's down to about 89%. So I plug it back in and get ready for work and in about 20 minutes it is green and back to 100% (a real 100%). I hadn't really thought about it until I used Google navigation for the first time this weekend. My phone was at about 92% when I left for my 2 hour trip. I plugged it into my car charger, which definitely works, and was on my a way. I looked at my battery about halfway there and it said it was fully charged. So i reach my destination, unplug my phone and it drops from 100% to 58% instantly. The whole day I thought it was the charger but on my trip back home I used the navigation again and plugged the car charger in. I started at 42% and when I got home I was at 89%.So, it appears that once the incredible gets to 100% it just doesn't accept power from any charger anymore. Hopefully that can be fixed with an update. This was with the stock battery. I have no idea if it is the same with the TP2 or Seidio battery.I wish it was like every other phone I've had that still had a trickle charge even at 100%.

Oct 3, 2010I've noticed sometimes my Incredible battery indicator stops showing the charging symbol but the orange LED is still lit, and if I go to my About Battery, it says "Discharging" rather than "Charging." I don't do anything to the phone to cause this, but would love to know why it's happening if anyone knows.

Jul 27, 2010I'm the author of SystemPanel, which includes task management (killing) features. I've recently noticed a problem with my Droid X where it suddenly will stop accepting a charge. For example, the screenshot below shows that the phone plugged in overnight, yet battery continues to drain: With a bit of testing, it appears that killing the app "usb" results in this behavior occurring. Once it has been killed, the phone will never accept a charge until it the phone is rebooted.
I would greatly appreciate if a fellow Droid X owner could verify this for me. To do this, use SystemPanel (Lite version will work fine, as will ANY task killer, or the OS' own task killer) to terminate the "usb" program. The full name of the process is "com.motorola.usb". Any task manager should also reproduce the behavior if you perform a "end all" or "kill all" operation. Then unplug the device from USB/AC power (if it was plugged in) and then reconnect it. You should see no indication of a USB connection and/or charging if your device suffers the same problem. The issue can then be corrected by rebooting the phone. Here is the process as shown by SystemPanel: It appears that Motorola has incorrectly allowed this process to be user-killable and/or has failed to automatically restart it in the event that it terminates or otherwise fails. Would greatly appreciate feedback on this problem, if this is not unique to my device, I'll be modifying SytemPanel immediately to avoid ever killing this process.
Motorola Droid X :: Car Dock With Google Navigator - Stops Charging
Aug 8, 2010Just got back from a 500 mile road trip. I was using the Droid X car dock and Google Navigator. I noticed that about after 15 minutes the phone would no longer be actively charging (the lightning bolt icon in the battery was not displaying). Within two hours the battery was depleted. I know Navigator is still in beta.

Oct 15, 2009I love the Hero - dont get me wrong - I am running the latest orange rom but I have a few issues- hopefully some one can help me solve...
1 - Dropped calls - no matter who or where I am calls drop about 25% of the time. I can be sitting at home doing nothing but talking then drop.. it happens alot.. starting to annoy me..
2 - Failed to send texts - I am having a text conversation then a random message stops and wont deliver - retry - retry again - wait a minute or 2 and retry - it works.... this is getting very anoying.. again about 25% of the time.
3 - Internet connection - (3g) - after about 4 or 5 clicks it will lock up and display page not found... wait about a minute - retry and again it works... this is about 40% of the time
4 - my friend sends me a text message/ missed call with a new number. I cant add it to an existing contact - it only allows you to add a new contact. plus copy and paste doesnt work at these points. - i end up having to write the number down and then edit the contact.
5- T9 - when I add a word to the library - it doesnt remember the word in my text - I have to type it in again and then it predicts it (minor but annoying). this phone is awsome as a gadget - but pretty crap as a phone. any one got any advice on how to help ?
HTC EVO 4G :: Stops On Activating Phone Online
Jun 25, 2010When I go to activate it online it goes through everything fine but stops on "activating phone" and a red box comesup saying they need to assist me with activation to please call from another phone or click the chat link. Well the chat is down and I don't have any other phones besides the phone I want to deactivate for the evo. Could I take it to the sprint store to get it done or will they give me flack for buying one off ebay to use?

Android :: Service Stops Working When Phone Locked
Nov 9, 2010I have an application which starts a service. The service has a timer and pops a notification every 30 seconds. I notice the following behavior: if the screen is on the notifications are shown ok (even if the app is in background). if the screen is off (by power button or by itself) the notifications won't show. if the screen is off but I have the debugging running the notifications appear. How can I make the service run with the screen off. (The actual app only checks if a notification should be checked every 30 seconds, but for testing purposes, the above scenario is ok)

Oct 18, 2010Sorry about the newbie question but I haven't been able to figure this one out yet. When I'm playing MP3's using Mediascap (only player I've tried) the player stops whenever the phone goes to lock. I have my phone set for a 30 screen fade and then it locks soon after that. This means I have to poke the phone every 30 seconds to keep the song playing. I did a search and found something about adding the application to the task killer ignore list by doing a long press on the app and selecting ignore, however when I long press Mediascap I simply get a trash can popping up.

Feb 23, 2010Almost every day when I wake up I check my phone and 9 times out of 10 the touch screen does not work. I cannot make a call or check anything. I have to push a lot of buttons and take out the battery and generally wait a while before my expensive phone to start to work. Is there a fix for this? I've already had to go to sprit to do a hard reset because the phone got, "kicked off the network" for some reason the sprint people could not explain. Any solution for the screen issue?

Jan 6, 2010First off, I apologize if I start a new thread when one already exists. I tried searching, but couldn't find anything related to my issue.
The issue:
When I have to restart my phone, all apps stop responding, including phone, google apps, everything. I can't make calls, I don't have a signal, nothing works really. The solution: uninstall recently installed applications, and that fixes it.
However, I wonder if there is something else going on causing this. The reason: Yesterday I installed Backgrounds (a popular 4-5 star application from Android Market). I had to reboot my phone (locked up), when I did, nothing was responding, got messages like acore, gapps, and other apps stopped unexpectedly. I removed Backgrounds, restarted again, and everything worked. My wife uses Backgrounds, but her phone doesn't stop working when she has to restart. Why is this happening on my phone? Is there another app causing interference?

Jul 21, 2010I'm not sure if this is an android problem, or a samsung i9000 problem, but either way it's an annoying problem that I'd love to find a solution for ?_? I simply cant get the alarm to work for me (overnight. it's fine in the very short term). It appears to be because the clock stops moving/updating when the phone goes to sleep, because when I turn the screen back on I can see that the time is off by multiple hours, depending upon when it stopped updating, and stays that way for a couple of seconds before changing to the correct time.
Things to note here..
I do NOT use a task killer
The alarm volume is up
I have tried the alarm both with and without the Automatic, network provided time setting. The clock still stops moving. I've not updated anything from the standard (UK) firmware
