View 1 Replies View RelatedOn my Samsung Moment, me and my girlfriend's SMS text log is so long that my phone often freezes and stops responding 2 or 3 times before I can finally read something she just sent. We're talking almost 5000 messages here. I don't want to just delete them all so it goes faster tho, I'd really like to log them away in case I ever want to read them again. Does anyone know how I can do this? I couldn't seem to find them by just browsing the phone during usb connection.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working on an app that uses a GoogleMap and lots of overlays/markers. Controls and navigation is handled automatically (no direct user interaction with the map needed so far).
Things work the way I want right until the app pauses and goes into the background. When I resume the app the map has zoomed out to 0:0 and it doesn't react to animateMap or anything anymore. I can't seem to figure how I get it back to the state where it doesn't react to user interaction and actually updates with my markers and stuff..
Below are the three methods handling the map, and it doesn't seem to react on any of it after a resume.
Code:
private void setupMap(){
getSupportFragmentManager().beginTransaction().replace(R.id.trackeractivity_map, new SupportMapFragment()).commit();
FragmentManager fragmentManager = getSupportFragmentManager();
SupportMapFragment supportMapFragment = (SupportMapFragment) fragmentManager.findFragmentById(R.id.trackeractivity_map);
[Code] .....
First off, I apologize if I start a new thread when one already exists. I tried searching, but couldn't find anything related to my issue.
The issue:
When I have to restart my phone, all apps stop responding, including phone, google apps, everything. I can't make calls, I don't have a signal, nothing works really. The solution: uninstall recently installed applications, and that fixes it.
However, I wonder if there is something else going on causing this. The reason: Yesterday I installed Backgrounds (a popular 4-5 star application from Android Market). I had to reboot my phone (locked up), when I did, nothing was responding, got messages like acore, gapps, and other apps stopped unexpectedly. I removed Backgrounds, restarted again, and everything worked. My wife uses Backgrounds, but her phone doesn't stop working when she has to restart. Why is this happening on my phone? Is there another app causing interference?
i have downloaded CM Mod for A13 and installed it but the touch is not responding .. trying to flash the ts batchs but doesn't work .find my TS model and tell me if i am doing something wrong ..
my tablet model is / inet 86ve rev01 zeng-gc 2012-12-06 / i found these under the back cover of my tablet and wrote it couse my brand doesnt exist on the internet.
Half the time that I am using the phone doing normal things ex: writing a text, going to the market, opening up an app, etc. the phone will not respond to my touch. I have to lock my phone and then unlock it to get it to respond.
I personally don't think that is normal and if it is it should not be a normal thing someone has to deal with.
The touchscreen is not responding randomly the device itself is functioning fine but the screen is not use-able. The simple turn off and on the screen fix the problem for a few minutes but then again is not working, and is frozen in the lock screen so i have to do the off/on trick few times to make it responsive. I tried the stock rom the modaco rom and now i am using AOSP JELLY BEAN 4.2.2_r1 but it is all the same. Every time i flashed a rom i did the full wipe. Sometimes is even frozen in recovery mode. It aIso sometimes reboot when it get frozen. I have 1.4a loader and i tried with all the twrp versions now i am on 2.5
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having big troubles with the touch screen of my Samsung Galaxy Exhibit II. Everything worked smooth since 1 year, and 2 days ago suddenly the touch screen stop responding. The phone works, I receive calls but I cannot answer since I cannot swipe. All the side button works, but the front button on the screen (menu, option, back and search buttons) do not work at all. I tried to reboot but nothing. I took sim, battery and microSD out for one entire night and then rebooted in the morning (without sim and microSD) but nothing. I also rebooted the same morning with sim and microSD but nothing. I ended up to try a factory reset even if I dont have a backup but I figured out I cannot do it because when I reboot and press volume up and power button then I cannot press the menu bottom when I see the robot with the box since the menu bottom does not respond!

Almost every day when I wake up I check my phone and 9 times out of 10 the touch screen does not work. I cannot make a call or check anything. I have to push a lot of buttons and take out the battery and generally wait a while before my expensive phone to start to work. Is there a fix for this? I've already had to go to sprit to do a hard reset because the phone got, "kicked off the network" for some reason the sprint people could not explain. Any solution for the screen issue?
View 4 Replies View RelatedBasically on Saturday it was raining hard where I live and I was out and about with my tattoo in my pocket. I used it a few times whilst out but made sure it didn't get too wet although I personally got drenched and the phone was in my wet trouser pocket! That evening the touch screen stopped responding completely, nothing would happen when I touched the screen at all! The directional buttons like home and menu worked however. I then took the battery out and put it back in, but still no luck, the touch screen was dead. Resigned to having to send it back to HTC, I left it switched off over night. The next morning I switched it on again and it started to work fine again!! No problems, so I thought the problem had passed.
But then a bit later in the day the same thing happened again, touch screen not responding but this time as well although I wasn't touching the screen the tattoo was pressing the touch screen button in the bottom left hand corner of the screen on its own!? So that made me think that the touch screen was indeed broken! I then performed a complete factory reset last night, and yet again after that the phone was working fine again. But then again when my alarm went off this morning, the touch screen was not responding again and the tattoo was pressing that same button again on its own, on and off. So I took the battery out again, left for a few hours, just turned it back on now and the tattoo is working fine again!
I've only had my Droid a few weeks and am still getting used to it. Yesterday, on a business trip, it was working fine. I plugged it in last night, and now the screen is not responding to my touch (it is loading messages because I can hear the tone). I can't unlock it, I can't turn it off. What have I done and how can I fix it?

View 6 Replies View RelatedIt happened the other day, after a battery pull it would work for about 3 min and lock up. I did a factory reset and it worked for a couple days now it is doing it again. I didn't install any new apps either time. Anyone else have or hear about problems like this? should I return it?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI very recently got my HTC Hero and everything was working fine until a few days ago. For some reason, my phone does not respond fully when I click on certain hyperlinks. For instance, I can type in a google search, but I can't click on any of the results, but I can click on the "Options" tab next to each hyperlink. As I click on these links, they will become underlined, but nothing happens. I tried a factory reset on calibration and that did not work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Touch screen was acting up the last few days (not responding intermittently) and then yesterday I installed a new rom from Jrummy (Kangerade V5.0.9)... once it booted up I was unable to "Touch the Droid to Start" or whatever is says and after multiple battery pulls and restoring to old roms, nothing has changed.. When they boot up I cant get past the lock screen..
I went to Verizon and they are sending me out a new phone should be here tomorrow or Friday. Do I need to be worried about sending a rooted phone back to Verizon? Is there anything that I can try to do to unroot with out my touch screen working? Is there a way to get the screen working again?
I can still boot into Clockwork Recovery, and all the hard buttons work. Obviously I am a novice with all of this, so your patients and understanding is appreciated.
I have a Motorola Droid; today the Voice Search stopped working. I've not installed or even updated anything, have not changed any setting in any app anywhere- but it sticks on "Speak Now." Hitting Cancel makes it stop, but killing all apps and restarting didn't help, and problem continues. Any ideas of where to even start?
PS- the problem occurs when I have the browser open.
Any one have this happen? I reboot, turned off overclock (was at 800mhz), pull battery, no go. Think it could be rom related? I am thinking of installing a new rom and wiping the phone, not sure.
Anyone have this happen before?
I've noticed over the past week or so my Eris seems to be getting a little sluggish/touch screen a little slow in responding. I was wondering how can I tell what could be causing this? Are there certain programs that slow the down the phone more than others?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a custom Android view which overrides onTouchEvent(MotionEvent) to handle horizontal scrolling of content within the view. However, when the ScrollView in which this is contained scrolls vertically, the custom view stops receiving touch events. Ideally what I want is for the custom view to continue receiving events so it can handle its own horizontal scrolling, while the containing view hierarchy deals with vertical scrolling.
Is there any way to continue receiving those motion events on scroll? If not, is there any other way to get the touch events I need?
But now whenever I'm taking a call the touch screen stops working, so the only way for me to hang up is to take the battery out.Has anyone else had the same problem and is their anything I can do to fix this?

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust got the S4. Had the Incredible. Want to make my incredible, basically, a touch device for my kids (Wi-fi) only. So (after posting this question on the verizon forums) I performed a factory reset on my phone (erased all data) in order to start with a clean phone. When it comes back up it wants me to activate the phone. Is there anyway around this? Or do I have to activate the incredible and then reactivate my S4?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am on my second handset and I am having so many problems with the phones I'm thinking of just giving up and trying to switch to a Samsung Galaxy S. I'm on the wretched Orange network and my phone has these problems:
- Non-working FM radio - it is static on every setting, although sometimes Radio 2 works(!) regardless of what headphones are plugged in.
- Alarm not working - It just doesn't go off if left overnight, even when turned on and with 2 alarms set.
- No internet via 3G - It gives no traffic, completely dead regardless of signal strength. It works via GSM and HSDPA.
- Randomly dropping calls.
- Randomly not able to send texts.
- People ring me and it goes randomly straight to answerphone.
- Erratic bluetooth, sometimes it works ok, other times it randomly disconnects from headset or car system.
It seems like almost every problem present on this forum, my phone has at once and it's driving me mad. Are these problems likely to be due to the horrible old ROM version that Orange runs (1.15.61.10)? They won't update it because it is too much work to stuff all of their crapware onto newer versions (solely designed to make you pay for things that are already available free, e.g. maps, ringtones etc). I dread to think how long it will be for Froyo on Orange. I am scared of updating the firmware incase it doesn't fix my problems and then I may not be able to get a replacement. Has anyone else used a replacement firmware to get rid of any of the above problems, or should I bite the bullet and go for a Samsung (I know it is cheaper built and doesn't have sense but at least it works right?). Does anyone know if the new "Black" handset on Orange runs the same firmware or has any updates? Also, that awesome Clock feature on Desire, with Alarm, Stopwatch, Timer, etc. Is that Android or Desire cos I'd hate to lose it by changing from HTC.
I changed my memory card from 2GB to 8GB SDHC card, after that my phones acting kinda slow.
