I'm having a problem with my nexus one, over heating. I've had this phone three months and now the phone gets soo hot it hurts my hand. The phone seems to get hot when charging even though I'm not touching the phone. I would like to know if there is going to be an update to fix or should i return it.

But this new cord only did me good for a bit. Now, the nexus refuses to charge, unless you put the cord a certain way, and if you even touch it while charging, it stops charging.Edit-now its not charging no matter what I do
View 4 Replies View Relatedhow the Nexus Tablet 7 charges? Not through the USB port, right?
I have a Transformer right now w/ the dock & 2 full sized usb ports on it. But I have been waiting for the Nexus Tab for months, because of the screen, processor, and price. however since it does not have a microSD, I would definitely need to be able to plug in my 500GB usb hdd into it. I would need a OTG cable, right? And it does not use the MicroUSB port to charge, right? Otherwise how could you use the usb and charge it at the same time?
My Nexus 7's (2013) battery was low so I decided to charge it. I plugged it in to a AC adapter and it showed that it was charging. The tablet's battery was decreasing! I decided to turn it off and charge it. I've been trying to fix the tablet for a while. It showed empty battery icon, LED light above the usb port was flickering 5 times. Then it showed no more sign of life. I've tried many things including holding power button for 1 minute, tried different chargers, plugged in a different outlet, used original charger. The tablet is still under warranty but I don't want to go through all the trouble to get a new one. My tablet is not rooted.

So, I have 3 batteries for my phone. 1 stock (1750mAh) and 2 extended (2000mAh). No I don't need all that juice... its a story for another time. Anyway....
Lately when I charge a battery in the external charger (using a USB cable and the wall plug supplied with the phone) the battery will not fully charge. The LED on the charger will change from red to green (Usually I charge the battery overnight, or while I'm away at work during the day). However when I put the battery in the phone, it will show somewhere between 80%-90% charged.
1) Would a 100% drain and charge reset the battery's "fuel gauge"?
2) My phone automatically powers off at 6% (which is fine, needs enough juice to save current settings and power down properly). Is there a way to truely drain the battery down to 0%? (I'm thinking of some kind of low-voltage lightbulb or LED connected to the positive and negative terminals should drain that down to 0%. Is this recommeneded or is it fine just running it down till the phone powers off?
Normally I try to plug my phone in and charge (or power off and swap batteries) once they hit about 40%-60%. I'm only interested in doing a full drain to see if that will get these batteries to fully charge in the desktop charger. Besides I've read from a few sources that it is GOOD for the battery to do this once in a while (Fully drain, charge to100%) to properly maintain them.
And as a side note, charging the battery in the phone (either with the wall plug or from USB cable on my computer) will always result in a 100% charge, which makes me thing the issue is with the desktop unit itself (perhaps faulty circuit that cuts off charge current when it thinks its full ?)
I turn off my 4G/LTE on my Galaxy Nexus to save battery but when charging or plugged in, I would like to take advantage of the faster speeds. Is there a way to automatically turn on/off 4G/LTE in relation to the charging status? 3G on battery, 4G when plugged in.

The specifics of the Nexus One Dev Phone compared to a regular N1 Phone.I'd like to buy a N1 Dev Phone for dev purposes but also for ordinary everyday usage. So are there any specifics in the Dev Version of N1 I should care about? Is there anything that would inhibit a regular day to day usage and what are the differences to the regular retail version of the Phone?

View 1 Replies View Relatedso i guess if u use your phone while charging, it actually uses the battery (which makes sense of course)but after unplugging, goes down to like 89% because u were using while charging i put it back on the charger without using to 100% and its been there for a while now.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had my Desire for a few days now, and yesterday we decided to go out for a drive, so I thought I would use the Sat Nav to get us about (NDrive). The battery in the phone was about half charged. Was listening to music whilst using the sat nav, and when we arrived at our destination, the battery was still reading half charge - even though it had been charging for over an hour in the car.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter a lot of digging around on the forums I found a tip for a problem that I find very aggravating.Problem: When you plug your phone into a PC, even if you choose charge only, the SD card is shared over the USB to the PC and you cannot access it directly from the phone. This has just got to be a bug, and as an aside...anyone know if this is fixed in froyo? Workaround: If instead of charge only, you select share out as a usb drive(or whatever that option is), you can then click on the icon at the top left of the home screen that shows new alerts and current running apps and select that same option again. The same screen comes up and you can then change it back to charge only. When you do this, the SD card is unshared and can be used normally on the phone.
I noticed last night that my Desire HD wasn't charing, I had it plug'ed into the socket, then tried charging it via my laptop and then X box 360, the orange light stayed on until I went to sleep, but when I woke up, the battery was still orange, around 25% full. I don't know if its relevant, but I had upgraded the firmware around the day before, anything to do with it? Phoned up e2 Save who said I need to take it to the Car phone warehouse tomorrow, but wondering if there is something I can do at home?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had my HTC Desire, so I have had it for too long, yesterday it was a hot day and I put my phone in charge whilst it was on with mobile internet on, and was on my bed just under the cover and I completely forgot about it, when i come back after around 7-8 hours the phone is extremely hot and I can smell the phone. I looked at the phone and the battery had only 2 percent charge left which is odd considering it had been in charge for around 7 hours and was very slow like sliding from home screen to home screen was painfully slow, once I left the phone to cool and gave it a charge to 100% I turned the phone back on to find the phone was and still is very slow, also by hot I mean a good 60 degrees hot. Do you think I have done any permanent damage to the phone and that it will never be fast again? Also have I damaged the battery? Can any of the phones get internals damaged by this? Anyone had any overheating issues or problems resulting from this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a used Eris off of Ebay to hold me over until January or so. It came rooted with the XTRsense rom, overclocked, apps2sd, etc. The phone runs great and the battery life seems decent, however, it won't charge. When I plug it in, the battery icon shows that it's charging, but when I unplug it, the battery is still at the same percentage. I left it charging overnight last night, and it was still at like 40% life this morning. Any ideas as to what could be causing this? If it's hardware related, I don't mind popping it open if it saves me from dealing with the hassle of returning this phone and going back to my Storm.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo, got my Captivate yesterday.. first Android device (and loving it). Noticed something weird, when i went to bed last night it was at 50% battery, turned the phone off and plugged it in figuring it would charge overnight. however when I turned it on this morning the battery was at 10%. Not sure if this was just a fluke or not (i'm assuming fluke since I don't see any other posts on it). Can't see why it wouldn't of charged, let alone drain the battery.. any ideas? I can assure you it was off all night. So does this phone only charge when on? Something specific to Android or just a fluke maybe something i should think about a return trip to at&t for? Gona see what happens tonight when I do the same thing.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI was charging my incredible today and after a few hours I noticed the red led light blinking. Thinking it was a missed call I picked it up and noticed it was really hot! I have battery snap app and when I checked the status it said the battery was overheating. I had it plugged into the wall charger that came with the phone. Is this normal? It wasn't charging that long...maybe 4 or 5 hours. I'm worried about leaving my phone on the charger at night time (which is usually when I charge my phones). Does the standard charger not have one of those chips that keeps the battery from over charging? Also, when I took the phone off the charger after noticing it was hot, the battery widget said it dropped from 100% to about 90% after only 10 min. Did I screw up my battery? If so, please tell me it's covered under the insurance.
