Changing the sms notification in the status bar. I am unable to get to a personal computer at the moment?
Below is my mms app, and the icon I would like it changed to, (I would do it but I do not have a working computer at the moment.)
If you're running my rom and would like to add some different statusbar icons to your screen, I threw together an update for you.
I made these icons for me, so you may or may not like them. GPS, signal strength, 3g, battery, and a few other icons were changed.
There's no update to remove the icons, so do a nandroid backup before you install them incase you don't like them, then you can easily restore your default icons if you don't like the update.
Here's a screenshot.
Installation: Copy icons-update.zip to your sdcard. Reboot your phone into recovery mode. Select Flash Zip from Sdcard. Choose icons-update.zip.
Remember, do a nand backup first!
Download: icons-update.zip
I wouldn't recommend applying this update to any ROM other than mine, as other ROM's might have modified framework files themselves, and this would overwrite their stuff.
First: I have to edit the SystemUI.apk or the Framework-res.apk? (because in systemui i dont have battery icons, but yes wifi and etc); And in framework-res i have all the statusbar icons.
Second: I have to edit the .png images with patch 9.png or something?
Third: All the images to replace have to be exactly the same size of pixel? or 2 or 3 pixel more high or width doesnt matters?
how to move my status bar icons i.e. my signal bar in middle, time on left side, battery on left side n etc.

Having an animated icons in status bar is something not many people have thought up and it's great for customization!
How to get started on this project, and I know it can be accomplished, the PacRom
Team has a USB debugging icon that is fully animated, I have been in contact and am making a little progress here and there.
Changing the statusbar color Nevermind.

I know there are lots of threads for this, but every one ive tried seems to just crash my system UI. I would also like it if you could change the colour by app (i know paranoid android does this however, i have not found a stable build for the 4X.)
I am not very experienced at coding mumble jumble, however i do know how to build APK files etc..

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've downloaded a few applications so far and even though they were successful, I have a bunch of 'download complete' icons on the top status bar of my home screen. At least, that is what I think they mean. I did not find a description of them in the user manual They look like a little black 'page' with a check-mark in the middle.
Do they have any meaning (other than download complete)? How do they get cleared out? They are filling up my status bar. I bet if I reboot they will go away, but it seems like they should disappear after a short period of time (they don't).
Is there an app, or a zip file to flash, to where i can choose to hide certain icons from the status bar? i like to just turn my screen on to see if i have any notifications, but i hate it how i get the "more" icon, where you have to drag the status bar down, only to find out it was just an update notification.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make the status bar icons opaque on an ics Rom (the icons to the left, like the debugging, usb, unread notifications, etc.) as in kitkat roms. What values should i change? I'm sure it's not on drawables.xml and it's not the png's either (they are already opaque). Statusbar.smali maybe? if that's the case, what are the lines that i should modify?
Here, some screenshots:
I'm not rooted with anything, however I am running Open Home. I also installed the Windows7 Icon Pack for use. However, I wish to change some of the icons it defaults to when I load them up (particularly the Market icon, which defaults to the Recycle Bin).Is there a way to do this manually? or do I need to download another software from the market? I see some people mentioned "Better Cut" but I'm unsure if that does what I am asking, or if it is just a replacement for Open Home.I'm not too savvy poking around the Android OS at the root.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat I'm looking for is a way to do it and have it persist through different ROMS/wipes/etc.I was using Desktop Visualizer but when you make a shortcut with that it's technically a widget which doesn't get saved when you wipe and ROM.Any suggestions? I am rooted so if there's a way to do it that way I'm open to it. Does Bettercut do what I'm looking for?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy Nexus running JB 4.2 and I've started playing around with (basic) customisation. Is it possible to change the colour of the Status and System Icons at the top of the screen from the default blue? Preferably to white. I have a nice dark look going courtesy of sammyycakes and others, the blue spoils it a bit.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI don't mean 12/24 hr format. I mean HH:mm:ss format. I want my status bar clock to display something like 23:59:59, I want the "seconds counter" included. How do I do this? Are there any app that can do this or I need to modify some system files (SystemUI.apk perhaps)? My phone is xperia mini pro (rooted).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've seen this posted before however I'd really like to revisit it. In dealing with a small res device I would like to hide the status bar, my current solution has been to make it transparent and 'make a mess' of the framework and xml so that certain icons are no longer shown, for example the battery icon only shows a png when it's low, the ticker font is transparent etc. I'd much rather do this the proper way, via the source in android 2.1 So who has ideas for; Making the status bar hide when the launcher is open? not having the notification ticker at all? Disabling the status bar completely?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've looked all over the forum, but don't see any recent posts for my question. So I'm hoping someone can help... I would like to hide or remove unwanted icons from the left side of the notification/status bar. I realize most programs give you this option, but some don't (such as the latest version of Norton security program). It just sits up there and hogs up real estate. Ideally, it would also be nice to be able to rearrange the icons, or make them larger if desired..

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have the dock bar configured on my Droid Eris with the default icons, but I have changed the default application for each (i.e. the message icon opens Handcent instead of the default messaging app). However, I'd like to have the icon be the app that its actually running. How can I do this? I tried long-pressing the button and selecting "Change Icon" from the menu, but I can only use either the default LP icons or I can pick a picture from the Photo album. I'd really like to have the Handcent icon for the messaging button, etc.Any ideas? I've seen a few threads on here where people have changed them, but none mention HOW they've changed them.
