HTC EVO 4G :: Can You Play 3gp Files In ASTRO?
Sep 20, 2010When I click on a 3gp file in astro, it'll say "file type 3gp not found" but it'll play fine in the Gallery app. I swore when I clicked on a 3gp file in the past while browsing in astro, it'll pop up with an option but it no longer does. I cleared all defaults too.

Jul 15, 2010I could not get Astro to work, so I went w/ Estrongs F/E. This works great! Done a scan, found my desk top, viewed all files and folders that I wanted to...BUT cannot open any document. Word, Excel, PDF, MP3, etc. Everytime I click on the files it says "Sorry, No Application Installed." I can open these types of files if they are attached to an email, but not in Es File Explorer.

Sep 1, 2010Trying to install the HTC keyboard. I put the files on my microSD and tried installing it with astro but it says cannot download unless its from the market. I searched around and found that i need to go to setting -> applications and check the unknown sources box. I tried this and cannot find "unknown sources". Any Ideas?

Jul 16, 2010I want to install a couple of applications that aren't on the market (notably RockPlayerBase and CarHome.)Anyway, I have Astro (the free version) and I have set the phone to allow unknown installations.However when I navigate to the .apk files on the SD card using astro and select 'Open App Manager' all the summaries are blank and if I go to the 'Details' tab it displays the message "Could not open /sdcard/download/CarDock.apk as APK file".It seems to do this with all .apk files I try and install.

Aug 22, 2010I can't find the original thread but I remember seeing if you installed NFL Mobile for Verizon before the end of July you had full access without paying for a VCast package. I had NFL Mobile on my Eris. I upgraded to a DInc but still have the backup. If I install from backup then "Upgrade" the app will it function from a billing standpoint as if I originally had the app in June?

just uninstall your old version of Swype, download and install the new "Evo" version (using a program like Astro) and there ya go!
HTC EVO 4G : Way To Remove Stock Apps With Astro?
Oct 16, 2010I've read several places that you need to root in order to remove stock apps. However, when I was browsing through Astro tonight, I found the apps folder on the Evo, and when pulling up the apk of them with the App Manager, the uninstall button was available. I didn't click on it, because I wasn't sure if there would be any ramifications. Will I just get an error that says, I can't unistall it? Has anyone tried this?

General :: Moving Files Around With ASTRO
Jul 24, 2012Ditched out my bb torch 9800 and got myself a nice htc one x lte , so i am faily new to Android. So far so good i don't regret the move . I got the astro file manager to organised my pics and docs and when i cut and paste the files in astro everything goes well . However when i look back into my pics for example the pics i organised in the new folders are still showing outside the folders but can't open them but can delete them . If i look in the new folders my pics are there and everything works fines . It looks like ICS is not refreshing . Am i missing a setting somewhere ? It's a pain to delete each fake files after they are moved .

May 5, 2010I just downloaded Astro, so I could move a few of my pics from my Onboard drive to my SD card. When I select move, and go to the SD card and select paste it gives me an error. I can move from one directory on my Onboard Drive to another Directory on my Onboard drive. I can also Move from one directory to another on my SD Card. But I can't move from my Onboard Drive to SD Card, or vice versa. Anybody else having this problem? Is there another file manager I can get that'll do this?

Oct 12, 2010okay so here is my problem. My evo wont do anything once paired to my computer via bluetooth. i paired it successfully, then later i wanted to send a file from my phone to my computer via bluetooth, (i have ftp enabled) and told my computer to expect a file and nothing. it doesn't work. also when i check the pairing profile on my computer, under services it is COMPLETELY blank, there should be some services like dial-up modem and bluetooth speakers and stuff shouldn't there be?
here is what i want to be able to do.
1. i want to send files from my EVO to my computer via Astro Bluetooth.
2. i would also like to use my laptop speakers via bluetooth, example, play Pandora on my phone using my laptop speakers via bluetooth connection
that is really all i want to do but i cant get ANYTHING working. could this be solved by rooting my evo? i really just wanna be able to do basic bluetooth functions with my phone.
Android :: Finding Hidden Files In Astro
Jan 6, 2010I created a hidden directory/folder with astro using the .filename technique. The problem is I can't find the folder. When I mount the droid to the computer, I can see the files, so I know they are there. How can I make it so I can see them on the phone when not connected to the computer?

I know I can use astro to move files in there, but is there a way to do this natively. Using Astro, I have to copy each file one at a time to the home screen as a shortcut, and then move them. I have a lot of music and this can take a while. I can't seem to find the folde on the home screen to browse to.

Dec 21, 2009ok so i was playing around with trying to get the stoick mms to install over the twmms.apk and i finally got it working.First of all, if you don't have astro file manager, go download from the market cause you will need it. next go to this link and download the Modified Mms.apk and put it on your sdcard.
Modified Mms.apk-Turn-off debug mode, stop application from lagging [Updated: 08/21] - xda-developers.Now travel to the saved mms.apk on your sdcard and click in it to install and click upgrade.that's it. Now you should have the stock mms.apk.

Jun 25, 2010Once I download an apk and place it on sd, and install it with astro file manager, does the apk have to stay on sd card or is it permanently installed to system until deletion?
For example my SuperUser.apk, wireless tether.apk and swype.apk were installed from sd through astro. I also have these apk's backed up with titanium backup. If i delete them from sd will they be removed and uninstalled from my system?
Also... I did a nandroid backup with the great clockwork recovery. This only backs up ROM and not apps/apks....right?

Jun 28, 2010Ok we all know that our evo music playback on headphones is ridiculously low especially if you coming from the iPhone, but today I found Astro player beta which have some good equalizer that can boots your audio output to new level,even louder than the iPhone 4 output with the same headphones,so try it out and keep in mind its still in beta stage so it force close a lot but it doesn't affect music playback when it does that.
