HTC Incredible :: Use Of Astro To Move Files From SD Card To Internal Memory?
May 28, 2010Has any1 been successful in using Astro or any other file manager to move files from the SD Card to the internal Memory located at /EMCC/ ? I've tried a couple times, both moving small amount of files and/or entire folders and got Error messages in Astro. Is this just lack of support or can u really just add files using a Computer to the internal memory?

I hear about this app and how it is great and you need it. I have downloaded it and I am not really 100% positive on its purpose. Is it just an easy way to delete files? Are there files I shouldn't delete?

May 5, 2010I just downloaded Astro, so I could move a few of my pics from my Onboard drive to my SD card. When I select move, and go to the SD card and select paste it gives me an error. I can move from one directory on my Onboard Drive to another Directory on my Onboard drive. I can also Move from one directory to another on my SD Card. But I can't move from my Onboard Drive to SD Card, or vice versa. Anybody else having this problem? Is there another file manager I can get that'll do this?

Jun 25, 2010Once I download an apk and place it on sd, and install it with astro file manager, does the apk have to stay on sd card or is it permanently installed to system until deletion?
For example my SuperUser.apk, wireless tether.apk and swype.apk were installed from sd through astro. I also have these apk's backed up with titanium backup. If i delete them from sd will they be removed and uninstalled from my system?
Also... I did a nandroid backup with the great clockwork recovery. This only backs up ROM and not apps/apks....right?
Motorola Droid : Should I Delete Smoked Glass Files From Sd Card
Mar 7, 2010Just got my Droid working perfect today, I was sooo happy. I am running Smoked Glass V5.0 overclocked at 900 mhz and loving it.
I decided to play with tethering. Got it going on my mac just great. I tapped the stop tethering and after Wifi Tethering shut off I pulled the usb cable without amounting, ohoh. I am usually so careful about this as my Mac get angry at me if I don't.
Now this is the only thing I can think of because then my beautiful widgets wouldn't work right stating it needs an sd card to operate.
Hmm, what's that all about I thought..yep went through the settings and the droid is not seeing it. Pulled and reinserted the sd card number of times. Soft reset a few and even Advanced restored from recently and still does not read it.
My Mac reads the card without a problem through a card reader. So I got this brainstorm to back it up, do a disk repair to see if that helps. No dice...
I erased the disc on the mac hoping the droid would see it and I could format it from in there, no go.
Finally I restored everything after formatting it on my mac and still it does not see it.
The droid just goes into a 3 time boot cycle then it says preparing the sd card, then it freezes and boots again finally to a working state. Of course without my sd card.
So I guess I ruined the sd card by pulling it without amounting? I have the insurance on this so I was thinking to Advance Restore to my status prior to rooting then walk in to Verizon and just say it stopped working.
Do I have to be more cautious and delete the smoked glass files from my sd card or just leave as is. I have everything backed up on my mac so I could just throw the restore file back on there if they replace the sd card for me or if I need to delete all those files to be safe and not jeopardize the warranty.Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.
General :: Can't Delete Files From External Memory Card Through File Explorer
Sep 9, 2013I have tried a lot of custom Roms. I'm on Neat ROM Lite now. Not sure which ROM changed my file access permission settings to cause this problem but I'm not able to delete any files from my external memory card. I was able to delete when I was on stock rom. The other problem is for a few apps I get an error message which says can't install on usb/sd card. I have posted this in another thread some time back but got no response.
This is what my file permission looks like.
I am able to delete when my fone is connected to PC via USB. So I don't think it has anything to do with a faulty sd card.
HTC EVO 4G :: Can You Play 3gp Files In ASTRO?
Sep 20, 2010When I click on a 3gp file in astro, it'll say "file type 3gp not found" but it'll play fine in the Gallery app. I swore when I clicked on a 3gp file in the past while browsing in astro, it'll pop up with an option but it no longer does. I cleared all defaults too.

Jul 24, 2012Ditched out my bb torch 9800 and got myself a nice htc one x lte , so i am faily new to Android. So far so good i don't regret the move . I got the astro file manager to organised my pics and docs and when i cut and paste the files in astro everything goes well . However when i look back into my pics for example the pics i organised in the new folders are still showing outside the folders but can't open them but can delete them . If i look in the new folders my pics are there and everything works fines . It looks like ICS is not refreshing . Am i missing a setting somewhere ? It's a pain to delete each fake files after they are moved .

Oct 12, 2010okay so here is my problem. My evo wont do anything once paired to my computer via bluetooth. i paired it successfully, then later i wanted to send a file from my phone to my computer via bluetooth, (i have ftp enabled) and told my computer to expect a file and nothing. it doesn't work. also when i check the pairing profile on my computer, under services it is COMPLETELY blank, there should be some services like dial-up modem and bluetooth speakers and stuff shouldn't there be?
here is what i want to be able to do.
1. i want to send files from my EVO to my computer via Astro Bluetooth.
2. i would also like to use my laptop speakers via bluetooth, example, play Pandora on my phone using my laptop speakers via bluetooth connection
that is really all i want to do but i cant get ANYTHING working. could this be solved by rooting my evo? i really just wanna be able to do basic bluetooth functions with my phone.

Jan 6, 2010I created a hidden directory/folder with astro using the .filename technique. The problem is I can't find the folder. When I mount the droid to the computer, I can see the files, so I know they are there. How can I make it so I can see them on the phone when not connected to the computer?

I clicked on PDF, and low and behold there is something that was downloaded to the SD card as a PDF on it. 1)Since my Dinc is rooted, will I have to copy anything to the new card after formatting it, or should my phone remain unaffected?
2) I know there is class 2, 4, and 6, with each having faster read/write speeds and being quite a bit more. Will those speeds really make much difference when being used in my phone for backups, random files, apps, and music or videos?
