I'm writing an Android application that plays back voice mails using Media Player, which are just WAV files that have been sent to the device. When I play the file, it's played on the device's speaker, or else it plays through headphones if they're plugged in. What I want to do is play the file so that it sounds to the user as if it's at the same volume level as a normal phone call. Is there a way to route playback so that the file is played through the phone's ear piece instead of out of the speaker?

View 27 Replies View RelatedRecently purchased the Virgin Mobile Supreme (Sprint Vital, ZTE N9810). The one thing that is bothering me is that there is only one volume setting for the combined ringtone and notifications. I would like to set these volumes separately.
I tried one volume control tool, but even though it had 'separate' controls changing ringtone changed notification and vice versa.
I noticed that when turning down the volume of the ringer with the volume rocker it doesn't automatically turn down the notification volume as well. Is there a way to set the volume rocker to adjust both notification and ringer volume to the same level? You can test this by going under Settings/Sound and Display/Ringer Volume...and try adjusting the volume with the rocker and it only adjust the Ringer Volume.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Android 4.2 on my mobile phone which I have bought recently.
Everything is running fine on my phone so far but with the exception of my clock's alarm volume.
For example:I set the alarm volume to max, I go and set my clock alarm to ring and when the alarm rings the volume is set to very low. When I check back to verify the volume, the volume is set to very low. I am very sure that I have set it to max though.
I have tried to reset my phone to factory settings, it didn't work..
On one page of my app there are sounds. Is there a line of code to allow the volume up/down buttons to switch to media volume control for that page of the app only? Or do I need to set it for the entire app, and how do I do that?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI don't know if it's from some app I installed or what. But I noticed recently that suddenly the volume rocker only controls the Media Volume or the In-call volume (if you're in a call), not the Ringer Volume. I don't have anything playing, so not sure why it's like that. I want it to default to ringer and I'll worry about Media when I'm actually in a program that uses it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy dad somehow changed his volume control, so it only affects the media volume. Any clue on how to change it back? Instead of Ringer Volume, it says Media Volume on the box that pops up when pressing the volume controls.
View 2 Replies View Relatedwhy is it when i hit the volume rocker on the side, it only goes half way? i mean, its still loud as hell, but still. Even the Alarm volume only goes half way.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOne of the things that bugs me about my Droid is that the volume rocker is too easily hit, resulting in accidental volume changes to/from silent mode. My solution has been to use Tasker to set the volume as desired every minute.Looking back at my days of working with dial-up modems, I remember a guy who set the modem init string to write to memory every time the modem initialized. After about 1000 or so modem initializations, the modem failed to retain the written information because the flash memory used in the modem was only good for a limited number of writes.Am I in danger of running into a similar problem on my Droid, where it no longer retains the settings because I've written them too many times?

And im talking about the mp3's from the sd card not pandora (pandora is a whole seperate issue obviously) Is it just me?? Is there some sort of fix or app for this besides rooting? Im running 2.2.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a ADP1 that just developed a problem. The ear speaker volume is very low. My app does not adjust any volume, but I suspect that some other application is fiddling with it. Or, the unit is defective. (I've had it over a month, though.) First, is there a way to set the default volume of the phone? I couldn't find it. I've rebooted and even removed the battery to see if the default volume would come back. But, no luck. Notes: * The volume is turned all the way up. * Speaker volume is fine. * Bluetooth headset volume is fine
View 3 Replies View Relatedis the speakers equal to the HTC Desire? Or better? how can the phone ring louder when it is put in a bag? if it is already on maximum volume? does the SRS and Dolby Digital really have a difference? I'm seriously afraid of all those things before I buy a DHD
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm on my htc evo and dont listen to music much with headphones. I'm on a trip this weekend so I brought headphones. I can not change the volume up or down, it is stuck about the middle. Also recently when I answer a phone call it uses speakerphone by default wether power is connected or not.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a BlueAnt ST3 and the volume is great when you hear the callers voice or it says "connected to phone", etc. But the volume coming from the voice of the Evo bluetooth asking me to speak now or verifying my caller choice is very low. I have looked in the bluetooth settings but don't see anything related to volume. Is this just the way it is? If not, has someone figured how to increase the phone volume without increasing the overall volume of the phone (media vol, ringer vol, etc).

View 15 Replies View RelatedMedia volume is too low on my HTC Incredible, even if turned all the way up. My ringer volume seems just fine though. After reading several posts for other android phones it seems the suggested route is to restore the phone to its original settings. I would rather not lose everything I've installed on my phone.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy media volume is always muted right now, even after I go into settings and increase the volume and accept, I'll go right back and the volume bar is back at mute.

View 3 Replies View RelatedNot just an app to make the volume go up and down, but to increase the volume higher than it can go stock.
