HTC Droid Eris :: Volume Only Go Up Half Way - Even Alarm Volume Only Goes Half Way
Feb 23, 2010why is it when i hit the volume rocker on the side, it only goes half way? i mean, its still loud as hell, but still. Even the Alarm volume only goes half way.

Jun 2, 2010I downloaded SMS pop up app. Love it! I have different ringtones for different people. That way I know who is texting me without looking at the phone. Only problem is no matter what the over all phone volume is (besides vibrate) the ringtones are always so freakin loud.Is there a way to turn down message volume or link it to over all phone volume using the buttons on the side of the phone?

Jul 15, 2010Eris with 2.1 I purchased Audio Manager, but even when maxed out there's less volume than on other cellphones we have. This is true with all audio functions, including Bluetooth. Is there another way, or a better tool, that will improve audio volume.

Sep 6, 2010I dropped my eris yesterday and the back popped off. When i put it back on i noticed the volume rocker was gone. i went back and looked for it but couldnt find it. I went to the verizon store today to see if there was a replacement for it. Or if i could buy a new back for the phone because thats what he rocker is attached to but they told me no. So does anyone know what i can do? I know i can change my volume by going to settings but that is just a pain. Does anyone know a website where they might sell the backs for the droid eris?

Sep 11, 2010So I bought a used Eris off Ebay thats volume down button was broken (not the rocker but the actual button that the rocker presses). I knew the button was broken when I bought it and I didn't really care for a while, but tonight when I was trying to fiddle with it, I accidentally popped it out. Is it worth opening the phone to try to solder it back on?Also, how do I navigate through the recovery menu without a volume down button?

Apr 2, 2010I have a problem with the ringer going to full volume even though its set to low.
It doesn't always ring at max volume but maybe 1 out of 3 times. Does anyone else have this problem? I have 2.1 second leak installed.
I reset all my data before installing the leak. Anyway to fix this? Aside from this I have no other problems with 2.1.

May 25, 2010I did the OTA upgrade to 2.1 last week, and noticed that the "click" when typing on the keyboard is really loud now.I notice this mostly when texting, which I do at work, and now it's so loud that everyone around me can hear.So, the question is how to adjust the volume for text input? I can't for the life of me figure out where this setting is. I have looked through all the menus but I guess there is one that I havent found. I also looked in the Handcent app menu and there's nothing in there.Also no adjustment in the standard text program either.

Jan 6, 2010this is getting very irritating... I have 3 alarm times set on my phone (stock clock), and the volume keeps resetting to whatever must be the default I guess. Here's what happens: I set the alarms as "on" (check box), then open the time itself, set the ringtone, and adjust the volume while doing so (I set it to max to make sure it wakes me up). The alarm clock goes off in the morning, very loudly, and wakes me up. I snooze, maybe a couple times or so (come on, it's the most comfortable time in the morning! haha). Eventually I dismiss it and get out of bed.
Next night, I check the alarm clock set to on, go to sleep. Alarm goes off in the morning, but it is very quiet. Just barely wakes me up, and not instantly. I check the alarm clock volume afterward, and it is only halfway up! This keeps happening, and I can't pinpoint why Of course, I can turn it up again, but it is very annoying to have to do this every single time I want to set my alarm. Just clicking one single checkbox to turn my alarm on is much easier than turning it on, opening it, opening the ringer chooser, adjusting the volume, and backing out of everything. My ringer volume stays where I put it, so why won't the alarm volume?!? I'd rather not install another app, since this one is fine other than the volume issue. But this little issue is driving me insane!
HTC Droid Eris :: Full Volume On Media Player - Output Very Low
Nov 11, 2009I listen to Pandora on the Eris and podcasts on the HTC provided media player. At full volume with earphones, the volume is still quite low, much lower than what my blackberry puts out, and not very good. Any way to up the volume besides the side volume rocker? Would a different media player application give me a better volume output or is it a problem built into the phone?

Aug 20, 2010I recently picked up a used Eris and love it. It's my first Android phone, and it works flawlessly--most of the time. My main issue is the volume settings. None of them actually adjust; my ringer and notifications ring at full volume all the time and my In-call volume is absurdly loud. I have searched this forum and have found many have issues with low volume. My problem is the opposite. I have tried adjusting the volume in the settings screen and while on the phone talking to somebody. Neither works. While adjusting the ringer volume, it just rings at the loudest volume all the time. My firmware version is 2.1.

May 23, 2010Just wondering, on 1.5, the Ringer/Alerts volume was locked together so however loud the Ringer volume was, the notification volume would be the same. Since upgrading to 2.1 OTA, they are no longer linked together. Is there any way I can link them back together so they are they same volume without having to individually change each one? It's kind of annoying when I set my Ringer volume to low, and all of the sudden I get a text and it's almost 3 times as loud.

Sep 30, 2010A friend of mine just rooted the other day using the Root for Dummies thread, (the same as I used months ago), and loaded up Kayosfroyo 35-1. He is now attempting to flash nonsensycal 8.2 Black. Well he downloaded the rom but when he tries to power up the phone using volume up it just boots up regular. He doesn't get the options for Nand Backup Reboot Flash etc. Volume down works but he gets a different set of menu items.

When I play the file, it's played on the device's speaker, or else it plays through headphones if they're plugged in. What I want to do is play the file so that it sounds to the user as if it's at the same volume level as a normal phone call. Is there a way to route playback so that the file is played through the phone's ear piece instead of out of the speaker?

Jul 17, 2010I noticed that when turning down the volume of the ringer with the volume rocker it doesn't automatically turn down the notification volume as well. Is there a way to set the volume rocker to adjust both notification and ringer volume to the same level? You can test this by going under Settings/Sound and Display/Ringer Volume...and try adjusting the volume with the rocker and it only adjust the Ringer Volume.

Everything is running fine on my phone so far but with the exception of my clock's alarm volume.
For example:I set the alarm volume to max, I go and set my clock alarm to ring and when the alarm rings the volume is set to very low.When I check back to verify the volume, the volume is set to very low. I am very sure that I have set it to max though.
I have tried to reset my phone to factory settings, it didn't work..
