So i was having issue with my favorites disappearing. It was a pain with my Favorite People widget.It has to do with your sync. To fix it, you have to go to the gmail website and add your favorites to the website. If you don't it will keep syncing your favorites with the site, thus the disappearing. I would think it should be a 2 way sync, but I guess not. Either that or this is a syncing bug

View 5 Replies View RelatedA friend of mine has the HTC Incredible and asked me, since I have the Eris and they are pretty similar, how to change the default action in Favorite people. When he set up his wife as a favorite, he accidentally chose to "send text" as the default action. He wants to change it to dial her cell number. I read the instructions for my Eris on how to do this.It tells me "To change the default communication method for a favorite contact, press and hold the contact, and then tap Change default action."When I do this, I do not get an option to change default action. Same for him.

I was trying to figure out how to delete one of those contacts from my favorites and I sent the whole screen into the remove box and deleted it (I've since figured out how to remove a singe contact). How do I get that screen back?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have had the Eris for 3 days now and I mostly get the hang of it. I'm running 2.1 (newest build).
Last night I linked all the contacts in "people" with Facebook (for people that are on FB). When I press "phone" now it lists nearly all my facebook friends. I did not add them. How did this happen? Oddly it did not do all of them. It stopped half way through the Ts. As much as I like all my "friends" there are least 200 of them I do not want listed on my "phone" list. How can I remove them from the phone list? There does not appear to be any way to delete them. When I do the "people" program they are not listed there. Is there anyway to remove these friends from the phone list and if I do will the phone try to put them back there?
Is there any way to have multiple phone numbers for the same person in favorites? I want to have my wife with her cell number and her work number there. It appears that I can only have her once in favorites with one number. It would also work if I could select which number when I pressed her button. It does not look like this is possible. Any ideas?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone to the latest ROM using the script in the stickied thread. My google contacts re-synced when the phone started, and all was fine. I then proceeded to make a few edits to my contacts. That's when I noticed that they were disappearing from my "people" list. I can still pull them up by typing the name on the dialer screen, and I can still send email to them, but they just don't show up on the list. This also happens with newly-created contacts. I've tried forcing a manual sync, rbooting, editing the contacts through gmail on my computer, and nothing has worked.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo yesterday I flashed XTRSense4.0.6.1 to both mine and my wife's Eris. My phone has been running great with no problems whatsoever. This afternoon my wife calls me freaking out because her contacts have disappeared... all of them. She said they were all there this morning and all of a sudden they're just gone. I told her to go to Settings, Accounts/Sync, and to Sync Google but that didn't help. She rebooted her phone, synced again and still nothing. Finally I walked her through the process of rebooting into recovery mode, wiping cache, doing a factory reset, and finally a NAND restore which got her back to pre-XTRSense and all her contacts came back without issue. What could have caused this issue and what can I do to prevent future occurrences? I'd really like to flash XTRSense back to her phone because it seemed to fix her other issues but not if its going to cause more problems than it fixes.

Weather (that's the full name, i like their widget better than all others)
Power manager full (may want to wait till they fix the bluetooth toggle to buy, but i like having dif power profiles to switch to for home vs out and about - i place shortcuts to the profiles on my home screen and oneclick to activate. Alternative is 'locale' but locale doesnt work very well for droid)
Bluetooth toggle for droid (using this till power manager fixes itself for bluetooth)
Advanced task manager (i like that there's auto-end on the full version...saves me the trouble of closing programs manually. Is also a great easy interface for uninstalling programs)
Gps status (i use this for remembering where i parked my car, free and better than other parking apps. Just go to 'radar' view and click 'mark')
Meebo IM (better than IM+ lite, free, create a meebo acct and just sign into one acct and you'll have all your IM including facebook chat!)
Google navigation (included, it takes a while to get used to, but the key is making a 'my maps' on google maps on your computer, hitting 'layers' on google nav and 'more layers' and choosing your 'my maps'. Easier to get places this way than thru 'contacts' in my opinion. Also try mounting the droid vertically for gps use, i like it because you see forward more rather than to the sides - i wonder why other gps dont do that, it makes so much more sense!)

Anyone using A Online Radio wondering how to delete stations from the favorites tab? There have been multiple posts about this on the developers site.I read their instructions multiple times on their forum post and after 2 days of thinking about it, I finally figured it out.They say that you're supposed to scroll through the list, and as you scroll, the entries will highlight. Then you can select delete from the menu you get from the droid's menu button.After many failed attemps at normal drag scrolling with my finger, I finally thought of trying to scroll with the direction pad on the hard keyboard.Open up to the keyboard and scroll down with that dpad, and items will highlight. You can then delete from the menu.Not hardly the best interface. check boxes and a select all would be much easier. But hey, at least now I can manage the favorites tab.

Im retrieving the information about the restaurants from a service, they are not stored locally on the device. But I want to allow the user to add a restaurant to his/her favorites.
What is the "best" way to store that kind of info on the device? Should I use Shared Preferences or Sqlite db? Or any other suggestions?
I have yet to find a good Bookmark/Favorites widget. I have tried all the ones in the market that I can find and haven't found one with all the features I am looking for in a single app. Anyone know of a good one or working on one?
Basically I am looking for one that can do the following:
-show bookmarks in list form (icons take up a lot of room)
-allow editing of names and tags- AND have the changes take effect in the native browser
-have an entry in the program list (not just a widget or browser integration) so that a shortcut can be placed in a folder instead of just on the home screen
-import/export compatable with Firefox
If you don't know of one, feel free to add to the list of features incase any devs decide to take on the project.
I am looking for a very good app on android mark that will allow me to view video podcast such as phonedog and Geekbrief, gadget pron and a few others that I religiously watched from my ipod touch on a nightly basis. Of course the touch had itunes which was great, the only thing it lacked was being able to save your favorites without downloading them. I know they have a few things out there on android market that seem to do this, looking for the easiest and the best.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've noticed numerous pictures and videos have just disappeared from my phone, ever since I installed 2.2. I thought maybe I had just deleted one video that I noticed was gone, but in looking last night, I found about 14 pictures, and 2 videos were gone. I know I had them before the 2.2 update, and I know most of them were still on my phone a few days after the update, but now are gone. I have not read about this being a problem with 2.2, but maybe others haven't noticed yet, or maybe it's just my phone?
View 12 Replies View RelatedRecently bought a Droid X (first android phone), but i'm a fast learner when it come to tech. bought PSX4DROID and downloaded disk 1-3 of ff7 (I do own the game). already added a bio's bin file also. here are my two questions
1. when I make new folders/transfer files over onto my phone's 16gb SD card, they show up, but as soon as I disconnect it from the computer they disappear. they still show up when I look for them from the phone, but if I plug the phone back in, my SD card is empty, even though the space is still being used. any ideas?
2. PSX4DROID doesn't work when i load up the final fantasy 7 rom. i know this game works because it is all over YouTube. all it shows is a permanent black screen. should i try a new psx bios file? different rom?
I think that maybe the two problems are related to each other, but i have no idea. The card is not a fake, It is the included card that comes with every Droid X. also I have read up on other threads.
Not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but occasionally when I swipe up from my home screen (when notifications are not being displayed) my status bar will disappear, and the only way I can get it back is by going into ADW settings and checking "hide statusbar" and then unchecking it right away. I don't have the hide enabled...it's just disappearing. Seems like a glitch.

I'm just try to stop the fact that I have to go into LPP settings, make my bar re-appear, erase notifications, then make it so the bar disappears again.

They were wowed allright but the next day I noticed very very faint scratches on my screen.I gave the screen a good rub with my shirt and they disappeared along with the smudges and dust so i didnt think anything of it.I just checked again a few min ago and I saw those same scratches imprinted in the dust and smudges that had gotten on the screen.I again gave it a good rub and they dissappeared but I'm starting to wonder how the heck is this even happening?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm just getting started developing for Android and I'm running into a weird problem.
First off, I'm running Eclipse for Java devs v3.5.2 with the Android 2.1 SDK installed.
Basically, whenever I do just about anything the "gen" (R.java, etc.) folder will just disappear from the project. I'm seen some people online say that it was still on the drive, just gone from the project listing in Eclipse, but in my case it is literally and completely gone.
The only fix I've found is that if I refresh, then try to build, it gives an error and "gen" shows up in the project view (though it's not on the disk), then delete it from within the project, then Rebuild All and it will say that it cannot find it and is recreating it.
Problem is, I have to do this every single time I want to build.
There's got to be a fix for this.
So I rooted my Droid and Superuser Permissions appeared. I looked up how to unroot and it just said to manually update to 2.0.1 (I was obviously up to 2.0.1 already) and I did, and I was hoping Superuser Permissions would disappear, but it didn't.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just recently downloaded and installed Chevy's Simply Stunning (4.2) ROM, and I'm finding that some of my shortcuts (places in folders) are disappearing upon powering off my phone.
I have two folders ("Text" and "Call") on my home screen that simply contain direct call and direct message shortcuts to some of my contacts. Ever since updating to Simply Stunning 4.2, I've had issues. I'm not entirely sure that's what caused it... anyone had this problem before?
