HTC Droid Eris :: Using Touch Pro 2 Battery ?

I read a few threads about better batteries for the eris, and I though several people recommended the touch pro 2 battery, since it is 1500mAh. So I found a deal on an OEM one for my phone. Unfortunately it does not fit well. Although it is not much thicker then the eris battery the corners are not rounded so the back does not fit on all the way.
What do you guys think should I try one of the 1500 generics that say they are for the eris, or stick with my stock battery?
The middle pics are with the touch pro2 battery and the last is the stock eris battery.

this is just one more reason that the eris is better (IMO) than the moto droid.
and it makes sense that the nexus 1 screen is tied with the eris since they are both HTC *sigh* and of course the iphone beats all what a surprise ... heres the link:

I don't see where anyone has asked this before, so I guess I'm the first?I find myself selecting items when all I want to do it scroll down the page. I find myself calling people when all I want to do is scroll down my contacts list, and while browsing on the internet, scrolling through a web page ends up with me selecting hyperlinks instead.Is there a way to make it so you have to keep your finger on an item a little longer to actually select it?

It seems like since the 2.1 install, the home button is not nearly as sensitive. Also the screen sensitivity seems lower as well. I have to try several times to get it to click. Is there a way to change the sensitivity??

I am on leak v3. Lately my touch screen has not been responding towards the top and now when I touch on a certain area it selects a completely different spot! Anybody else have this going on?

I am using a mixture of thick buttons, vlingo, and touch input. All suck but touch input has the least lag. So frustrated that the swype version I loved so much has closed. I am having withdrawals from swype and this is my therapy.

Is there a way to have swype for portrait mode but the regular htc touch keyboard for landscape mode when the phone is tilted on its side? Also how do I make the swype keyboard go away when editing a text box? There is a little button on the htc touch keyboard to minimize it but I don't see one on the swype keyboard.

MY phone isn't going into sleep mode as much as it should I just rebooteb it a couple of hours ago and I get up time =1:53.03, awake time = 1:32:01. whe I check running services Toucch input has been running for 1:32:01....what is it can I turn it off?

I have downloaded the snesoid lite app and I find the games are extremely unplayable without multi touch. I read around and I think once we get 2.1 the multi touch is enabled.

Since the update in May, I haven't been able to "touch scroll" through my files/pictures....before the update I could (using Astro) click on a picture and then touch and "throw" to the next one...but since the update when I click on a picture, I have to go back to the file list and click on the next one....is there a way around this? a setting to change?

My screen has recently stopped vibrating when I touch it. It will happen as I am typing a text message. sometimes it will begin the vibrating again before I finish the message, sometimes I will play on the phone for a few minutes before it randomly comes back.

Anyone have issues where the touch screen and the buttons become unresponsive for a period for short bursts. I think my phone has had it. I tried restoring it to see if certain apps maybe causing it but that is not the issue. Restored still same problem. it happens about every 5 minutes.

I had Swype, all was good. Then it started freezing my screen, or misguiding the touch to the point that removing the battery was the only option. It was not a phone issue, because I factory reset and it works now. I had to because disabling Swype did not solve the problem. Is there any beta or anything out there?I CAN'T GO BACK TO TOUCH INPUT!

I've done a bunch of searching on google and elsewhere on this in the past but have not seem to have found anything on the topic, but it came back on my mind today after making a call.
Almost [anytime?] I am speaking on the phone [with anyone?] I will intermittently get a "touch tone" sound blasted in my ear randomly. At first I thought it may have been because my ear/face was hitting a button on the screen, but this happens even when the keypad is hidden. The other odd thing is that it only seems to happen on MY end, the caller on the other end will *NEVER* hear it when I have asked.
I *do* use google voice for all my calls. I do not know if this happens outside of GV or if it has anything to do with it. Any ideas why this could be, or has anyone run into this issue?
Today it was in my mind because it was happening a LOT (every minute or so) when I was talking to one of my friends. I never took note about it happening more often with her vs. other people or not [honestly, I don't use TALK so much on my phone] but we had a longer conversation today and it kept happening randomly.
It's definitely coming through the headset and not out of the speaker (ie: it will drown out the voice on the other end), and I did disable all touch-tone sounds on the phone. It is the sound you would receive through a regular phone system through the headset, not a chinsy "beep" or something the phone itself would make, it's coming across the "line" but again only I am hearing it.

Lurked for short time. Good site. Wife and I got Eris each. hers does not 'buzz' when tapping the 'home, menu, back and search' touch keys. Could not figure it out. Any suggestions? (Love the phones by the way!) OH!!! And, bought the Seido 3500 mah battery. it really is not that big, fits in my hand nicely. I will let you know how it lasts. charged last night and still strong today. But I will keep updated.

I'm not sure if this is in the correct area, I am sorry if it is in the wrong area, but I am selling an Eris battery that I bought as an extra. I swapped out to a Droid and forgot about the battery. I've had the Evo since the release day and I loved it, greatest phone ever in my opinion. Well about two weeks ago, something happened and it broke, yeah it was my fault but i'd rather not talk about it. So I decided to upgrade to the Epic 4G, I found one and bought one last week. I immediately fell in love with that phone. Now here's the worst part, the same day I buy the phone it breaks. I accidentally dropped it from a height of around 1 feet onto my sink. The inner screen shatters but the outside glass is perfectly fine. I couldn't believe it. I believe that the new Super AMOLED screen is very fragile because I've dropped the Evo hundreds of times and nothing ever happened. I then decided to switch back to the Evo and ordered a replacement phone after a difficult process. Yesterday, I received the replacement Evo. Well I immediately notice it's refurbished and it doesn't seem to bother me. It turns on fine the first time and I proceed to activate it. First, the touch screen is not working at all. Only a few sections of the screen work even after full resets and calibrations. The phone then dies and never turns on ever again, I've tried different batteries and chargers but no luck.

I find when you touch the screen in the camera it auto-focuses and "occasionally" takes a picture. Is there some trick to this? I can't seem to figure out how to take a picture every time I touch the screen. Any ideas?

Forgive me if this has been addressed somewhere but there's a ton of threads that say 3g and battery so I couldn't find what I was looking for.Anyway, WHY does 3G use so much battery? I can see why if I'm on the internet or downloading files etc but when it's simply on in the background not doing a thing, why does that drain the battery so much??

I'm new here and a new Eris owner had it now for about a week and love it so far.I've read through several of the threads here about the battery and best ways to conserve, and I've tried to apply them (and I appreciate the info I've been able to find here).I'm conditioning the battery now (fully drained/charged it a few times), have set the brightness down lower, turned off bluetooth & wifi, set email checking to 2 hrs rather than 15 minutes.My question is about the effect on the battery of using facebook and peep/twitter as apps running on their own home screen.I have each of these two on their own screen so I can see updates but is this more draining on the battery than instead just having the apps as icons and then opening them up (meaning does this mean they are open all the time and draining battery)? Also, I have 3 email accounts setup but set to check every 2 hrs. Would this be more draining than just 1 email that checks every 30 minutes?

Which of these batteries do you suggest for my Eris? I am still in the 30 day period (and plan to upgrade if a newer phone is released within the period), but after that I am pretty sure I am going to get an upgraded battery.
The current options are:
2x BATTERY+DESKTOP CHARGER FOR VERIZON HTC DROID ERIS - eBay (item 280468408194 end time Mar-22-10 19:05:38 PDT)
or
Innocell 1750mAh Slim Extended Life Battery
The Seido one is larger and has a reputation, whereas the ebay one is slightly larger, but comes with the charger so that I can carry two. With the Seido, I would probably just do a complete replacement and not carry the extra. The ebay on is also vastly cheaper. <--not too big a factor, as if I keep the phone I will not cheap out on arguably one of the most important parts. However, as a colege student, the cheaper price is nice.

i searched and found nothing helpful...but i keep GPS off. i only check google maps (latitude) every now and then, but i always close it when i'm dunzo by backing out, and then task killing. however, under battery usage, my maps is at 87%, and has been for 2 days. what?!?! i don't even use it! wtfs it doing?

I was having major issues with battery drain on 2.1 (second leak) and after reading some threads here I removed the HTC battery widget. This appears to have solved the problem. Apparently the phone was not going to sleep when I had the HTC widget running. The awake time was nearly what the up time was. Without the HTC widget I do not have this issue.
Has anyone ran the Android Battery Widget on 2.1 and does it create the same problem?

I use to get a low battery alert warning at 15%, 10% and again at 5%. However, now I am not getting any alerts and my phone just display ready to shut off as I am using it. Is there a settings area that I inadvertantly changed? Has amyone else experienced this?
