View 4 Replies View RelatedI was a former WM user and my touch keyboard of choice was Touch Pad. It has better prediction than the HTC keyboard, is bigger, and has extra swiping shortcuts to make typing a breeze. Watch a video on youtube to see all of the shortcuts. You easily switch from qwerty, compact qwerty (my favorite), and numeric pad layout by swiping from left to right. Do a search in the market for touchpal and it will bring up the Chinese version. Download it, go into settings > keyboard and languages and select (select checkbox) Chinese touchpal. The next time you have a box to type in long hold and select change input method and select Chinese touchpal. When you open the keyboard you have to hit the little sprocket wheel in the bottom left corner to change the language to English.

Problem : When ever I power down my phone and turn it back on the battery drops like 20% each time. I have 4 different batteries for my phone since this problem and I really wish to fix it ...
Rom : CyangenMod 10
Code: ........
Ok So I've gone through several tutorials on the web. I understand how the pointerCount works , I can get two points, etc, etc. My problem is I am trying to implement a game control, i.e. dpad and some buttons. The "buttons" are actually TextView objects with images. I Implement OnTouchListener Interface. my onTouch Method gets called when it should. The problem is if I have finger #1 on button a then press finger #2 on button b my OnTouch() method is called with the view of button a, not button b. Fine then I will just get the bounds of the buttons and see if they intersect with the points clicked. No luck, It seems as though the points that come in the MotionEvent are not relative to 0,0 , but to some other coordinate system. I would have thought all points were relative to upper left of screen.
Here is my code.
CODE:.................
On my HTC Hero, when typing messages, I could always easily access characters like "?" and "!" and numerals by simply "long touching" that button. Very convenient. However, recently, that featured stopped working. I can no longer "long touch" the K-key and get a question mark like I used to.
Is this a setting that has been inadvertently turned off? If so, I can't find it.
To start: I searched the forums for this problem but didn't see anything similar. If this is a repost, sorry, please give me a link to a solution. The problem seems to go away when I shut off the screen and then turn it back on again. However, I sometimes have to do this three times in order to type a single sentence text. I did a hard reset earlier today and it was fine for a few hours. It seemed to come back after I installed some of the apps I had before it was reset. I've read that there was an issue with the earlier Evos about the screen not being grounded, but this seems more of a software issue to me. Anyone know what I can do?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am using a couple of ListView elements in my app. In all cases, it doesn't highlight the selected item when I click/touch it, but I can use the trackball to scroll up and down, and can see the orange highlighted color then. How do I fix this? one of them is a LinearLayout with two TextViews in it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust got back from my hols where I used my (stock) N1 camera a lot. Got some great pics but a few certainly highlighted just how important touch-to-focus is to me. Was quickly reading a review of the Desire and read it has touch-to-focus. Was just wondering if anyone who is actually running the modaco desire ROM on their N1 can confirm whether this works? I'd also be interested to know if I could just use the desire camera app on a rooted N1 with Cynanogen? I'm rather partial to the stock appearance and not massively inclined towards Sense UI.

I was wondering if there are any MDs or anyone else that works in healthcare that could help me out with some useful apps

I was able to flash ROM from : LNK1 but I have a problem with touchscreen which works upside down. When I press screen on top it actually shows that I pressed at bottom of screen. I was looking for solution many days and have learned a lot from many sites and different forum threads, but surprisingly non of the solution works for me. I am not able to reach proper file to change proper property to change this behavior. Most probably i need to set somewhere: ctp_revert_y_flag = 1 as described here: LNK2, but I am not able to find nor edit script.bin on my phone, here I found some info: LNK3 and also here is very interesting info about partitions: LNK4 but I can't find this script.bin on my phone.
My phone is china phone 1:1 Real MTL 6589 GT-I9500, I was able to flash several ROM's using SP Flash tool from LNK5, I know how to do this, but no matter which ROM I flash no matter which recovery image I flash this touch screen behavior is still upside down as described.
1. set ctp_revert_y_flag = 1 in script.bin on my phone - I can't mount proper partition, don't know which partition should I mount, can't find this file
2. set ctp_revert_y_flag = 1 in script.bin on ROM file before flashing - don't know where to look for this file and don't know how to edit ROM before flashing.
What I know: how to root my phone, how to get to it using adb, how to use android-sdk, how to flash using SP flash tools, how to use recovery mode, clean user data, how to use SP Flash tool, how to switch on developer mode, switch on USB debugging, switch on "show touches".
Does anybody know how to play the capcom emulator without physical buttons? I had it for my Droid and now its on my incredible but I can't play it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to get them back? I am not really sure when it happened, but my audible touch tones are set to short. I have tried each of the settings for that, and have also rebooted, just no touch tone sounds.
View 10 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else noticed this? With the phone laying on a table/counter/couch, the touchscreen normally doesn't respond at all. When it does, it's very glitchy, and pretty useless for anything that requires a swipe (like navigating home screens). I've tried all sorts of combinations of what finger I use, angle, and pressure, but it seems like as soon as I pick up the phone and do the same thing I was doing, it works fine. Just me or no?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had this issue happen a few times, so I disregarded it, but a few hours ago it happened 3 times in a row.I'm in the middle of a phone call, and suddenly I hear a beep, and I look at the phone and the call was disconnected (I'm back on the 'Phone' screen). I then realize that the phone becomes unresponsive (the screen doesn't respond, same thing goes for the Home/Menu/Back/Search buttons). The only thing I can do is press the top 'Off/Lock' button to shut off the screen, then press it again, and everything goes back to normal. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? If so, any advice/solutions?My phone is stock, no rooting or roms. I've downloaded a few apps from Android market and that's about it.My 30-day purchase window is up in about a week, so I'd like to get this resolved before then to avoid any headaches.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a new droid for $20 haha lucky i think until i notice that the touch screen only works for the middle of the screen to the left so if yu cut the screen into thirds only the middle and left work assuming that yu cut it from top to bottom with the lights at the bottom for the home button etc. I opened it up cleaned all the flex cable with alcohol and waited for it to dry and it still does the same thing so my question is = do i need a new digitizer or is it a software problem or something that i dont even know?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo my battery life was pretty poor, i'd be lucky to get 5-8 hours with minimal use and playing around with 4G on occasion. I tried my wives Hero battery to see if it made a difference.. it didn't seem to. So after her phone charged my battery up I swapped back. Now with normal use, playing music with it in the car, browsing the web on occasion, doing speed tests 3G/4G, couple hours of phone calls, some games, messing around with the LEDs as a flash light i'm still at 30% with 1 Day 4 hours unplugged. What the heck happened with her phone charging my battery!? What an improvement! I made no other changes on the phone besides that. I'll see if after my own phone charges the battery if this lasts or if perhaps there is an issue with the phone charging the battery. Pretty odd, just thought i'd share and see if anyone has any ideas what could be happening.
View 29 Replies View RelatedI got sholes from the market last night and i absolutely LOVE it. I just have a few questions about my OC profile and a temp monitor
Right now my profile is set to

Sleep/Standby:
Max 550
Min 125
Power <100%
Max 800
Min 250
Failsafe
Max 550

Do those look ok? Also what program works with Sholes to monitor battery and CPU temps?
I recently bought a window mount off ebay for my Inc and have been loving listening to Pandora and using the Navigation program while driving.
This weekend I drove a couple of hours back and forth to see a friend and both times I had issues with the amber notification light starting to blink. I had the phone plugged into the Verizon car charger. Could it be that the battery was getting too hot and this was the phones way of notifying me? I live in Florida so it would make sense that the phone was getting rather warm in the window mount.
Anybody else have this issue?
Can this cause any damage to the phone or the battery? Am I OK as long as I pull the phone down out of the heat whenever I notice this happening?
I have read that the touch pro 2 battery can be used in the hero. Can anyone confirm that it works in the Sprint Hero?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI read a few threads about better batteries for the eris, and I though several people recommended the touch pro 2 battery, since it is 1500mAh. So I found a deal on an OEM one for my phone. Unfortunately it does not fit well. Although it is not much thicker then the eris battery the corners are not rounded so the back does not fit on all the way.
What do you guys think should I try one of the 1500 generics that say they are for the eris, or stick with my stock battery?
The middle pics are with the touch pro2 battery and the last is the stock eris battery.
I've had the Evo since the release day and I loved it, greatest phone ever in my opinion. Well about two weeks ago, something happened and it broke, yeah it was my fault but i'd rather not talk about it. So I decided to upgrade to the Epic 4G, I found one and bought one last week. I immediately fell in love with that phone. Now here's the worst part, the same day I buy the phone it breaks. I accidentally dropped it from a height of around 1 feet onto my sink. The inner screen shatters but the outside glass is perfectly fine. I couldn't believe it. I believe that the new Super AMOLED screen is very fragile because I've dropped the Evo hundreds of times and nothing ever happened. I then decided to switch back to the Evo and ordered a replacement phone after a difficult process. Yesterday, I received the replacement Evo. Well I immediately notice it's refurbished and it doesn't seem to bother me. It turns on fine the first time and I proceed to activate it. First, the touch screen is not working at all. Only a few sections of the screen work even after full resets and calibrations. The phone then dies and never turns on ever again, I've tried different batteries and chargers but no luck.
View 15 Replies View RelatedIt doesn't have a front facing camera like Evo BUT the Fring app works perfectly and will let you do video calls with the Incredible. This is actually excellent news for me. A lot of the times I couldn't care less who sees me but I want to see them (daughter, wife, etc.). This way they can look at what I'm looking at while I see them.
View 8 Replies View RelatedHad the DINC on the charger overnight. This morning I noticed the LED blinking alternating green and orange. Battery and phone were also red hot. After reading the LED's do indicate overheating. Any ideas what would cause this? Should I be concerned. First time it has ever done this. Took battery out and letting the phone cool off right now. Did not change anything on the phone recently other than install and remove a couple apps. Also added Handcent messaging, but that of course should have nothing at all to do with it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI ROOTED MY HTC INCREDIBLE LAST NIGHT WITH UNREVOKED AND THEN USED A ROOT APP (Titanium Backup) AND WAS UNINSTALLING APPS LIKE SKYPE, CITY ID, VZW NAVIGATOR AND NOW THE PHONE WILL NOT BOOT UP. View 20 Replies View RelatedI used the camcorder on my Incredible today while outside to shoot some footage and test out the quality. I had the camcorder running for about five consecutive minutes and noticed the back of the phone was hot (it's in the Verizon shell/holster combo). I have BatteryLife running and it said the battery was overheating at 118 degrees. I turned the camcorder off, but it stayed that way for at least half an hour afterwards, even though I had gone inside. It was around 85 degrees outside, which may have been a factor. The Incredible is my first smartphone, so I'm slowly learning what it's all about. I'm not sure what is considered an acceptable temperature. Even though it was hot out, it struck me as odd that the battery would heat up like that.
