Since the update in May, I haven't been able to "touch scroll" through my files/pictures....before the update I could (using Astro) click on a picture and then touch and "throw" to the next one...but since the update when I click on a picture, I have to go back to the file list and click on the next one....is there a way around this? a setting to change?

So everything is perfect about my Eris except that the scroll-ball doesn't scroll left anymore. This isn't the first time the problem came up. My last Eris had the same problem. It scrolls in every direction except which is kinda annoying as I use it alot more than I thought I would. Should I take it up with Verizon? It isn't a life or death situation but it makes editing sentences in texts a pain.

To clarify, when the user puts their finger down to scroll, the intersected row (if any) gets highlighted for a short moment, before it realizes the user is just trying to scroll (then the highlight turns off). It seems like the timeout is too short - iPhone has the same behavior, just seems that the timeout is longer to discern between a real row- select-touch, and just a scroll-touch. Any way to tweak this? You can see the behavior in any of the system apps that have lists..

Since i'm in the touch mode setSelection is useless. How i can scroll a list in the touch mode. For drag i'm using onTouchEvent , onLayout to change background for the current item + some stuff in adapter to make a swap.

1. Folders (or folder windows displayed as pictures) are assembled or places as a deck of cards on screen 2. when using a touch (scroll up motion) each folder windows move up (scroll up) at a tilted angle and gradually it gets straighten in vertical direction when reaches at the center . The other folder windows are linked as a chain so if you scroll up again the next folder window will take the center position and so on until the last one. This can be scroll up or down.
Apparently, it seem it can be done with GridView or Gallery Widget to start instead working for new widget. if you have experience doing such interface , suggest me for better option?

I am doing something very similar to this. I am inheriting from TileView to create a class (SkyView), which will become a square board for a board game (similar to the board for Checkers).
However, I would like for my game board to be 400x400 pixels in size, which will be bigger than the screens of some Android devices (such as the G1). And I would like for the user to be able to freely scroll and drag the board around with their finger (both horizontal and vertical scrolling/dragging).
Can someone please point me in the correct direction for implementing this? The board must be no smaller than 400x400px in size. And however much of the board that can be displayed at once on the screen, should be displayed at once.
Should I wrap my SkyView widget in an AbsoluteLayout and use Scrollbars? If so, what Scrollbar properties to I need to use? I played around with Scrollbars in both directions but couldn't get it to work. Is there another view layout I should put it inside? Code examples would be nice! Thanks for the help. I am at a loss with this one.

View 18 Replies View RelatedI had my Droid X plugged into my computer and the next day when I was using it, noticed that all of my pictures were gone. My DCIM folder is empty, with all 100 pics missing.
I do have a folder in the DCIM folder called SPMO files and it has many .spmo files that are roughly 500k each in size.
Does anyone know what happened to all of my pictures and is there any way to recover them. I've tried a restart and that did not work. Has anyone else had this happen to them.
So i go to check my gallery right now to find most of my pics and vids i took are now gone. Just giving everyone a warning to backup their files.

Must not be doing it right. As long as I have a thread made, I guess I will ask: Is there a fast way to scroll besides swiping your finger on the page? It takes a long time to get from the bottom to the top of one of these threads on my phone if I swipe it. Seems like there might be a way but I haven't run across it.

Right now I would rather pay to downgrade to another phone like a BB or even pay full retail value for a completely different Droid because I am afraid if they send me another Eris it is just going to break again.
If I call VZW and talk to them, will they send me another Eris that will most likely to break or will they send me a D1 or an Incredible?
I love my Eris but i just can't use it anymore and i feel like i will keep having problems if they keep sending me refurbs.

View 17 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else have problems with the screen scrolling without being touched? My eris will scroll all the way to the left and will stay there for a few seconds. The most annoying thing is when I am texting it will scroll to the beginning of the message and then freeze and will continue to force close until I turn the phone off then back on then it does the same thing. This is the 2nd Eris I have had and if I cant upgrade soon then Im down-grading back to my LG.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to download the SMS app from XDA and the guy has it up as a zip file. I download it and extract it, and it's a folder with random crap in it. No apk.
Then I read that I just change the file name. I'm on a Mac, so I change the filename and it verifies if I want to change it from .zip to .apk and I say "yes." Put it on my card and Astro still doesn't recognize it. It's list, but it's an icon with a window and a gear in front of it.
I installed the Vanilla email app, no problem. Not sure what the deal is with this one.
Check me if I'm wrong here, but wasn't the 2.1 update for the Droid supposed to include multi-touch on the keyboard? Mine definitely doesn't appear to have this functionality (as observed while holding down one key and pressing another one). Does this mean I have to go back to Better Keyboard and some other such app? Am I missing something here?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI read a few threads about better batteries for the eris, and I though several people recommended the touch pro 2 battery, since it is 1500mAh. So I found a deal on an OEM one for my phone. Unfortunately it does not fit well. Although it is not much thicker then the eris battery the corners are not rounded so the back does not fit on all the way.
What do you guys think should I try one of the 1500 generics that say they are for the eris, or stick with my stock battery?
The middle pics are with the touch pro2 battery and the last is the stock eris battery.
I tried searching first!
I've lost Multi Touch Zoom on the Dolphin Browser Since the 2.1 update.
The native browser will not multi touch zoom either (I thought this was supposed to be included in the update).
Any ideas? I can't find a setting to turn it on.
