Dec 2, 2009yahoo mail works fine over 3G, but not over wifi. on wifi i get a connection error message. very strange. Anyone have any idea's?

Dec 9, 2009I used Google Domains / Apps for my mail..so instead of @gmail, I have mine @absolutebica.com.however, when I send a test email to my account...it never shows up automatically. I am finding I have to physically go into my settings, data synronization, and manually sync my mail for anything new to show up.Whats up? Is there a specific time limit set somewhere for when it checks for new mail?

Jul 8, 2010OK so if you use POP3 on several computers to get gmail, you may be familiar with this. Basically it makes it so every client gets your email. Anyhow heres my problem, freakin PoS default android email will not recognize it as a correct username. Is anyone familiar with this? Know a better email client than the default (and don't suggest K-9 please, I'm currently using it and hate it). I wish someone would get the HTC mail app to work on vanilla.

Mar 17, 2010I have the HTC clock weather widget on my home screen and have the phone set to get email from my aol account. The weather never updates (will show a sunny day at night) and the mail has also stopped updating. Is there a connection? the GPS is on. Sometimes i will get a message on screen saying com.htc.provider has stopped force close? I dont know what that means.
any ideas?

Mar 13, 2010Yes I did read all the other posts about this. None of those suggestions made a difference.So to test I sent myself an email and had the GMAIL app open on the ERIS.It sometimes give me a conversation notice but does not actually download the email to the app for a long time. And then only if I force a refresh.I have full 3G where I am so that can't be it. Also, I do no have a task killer and I keep mobile on all the time.The ERIS doeseverything else very well with the exception of e-mail.

May 16, 2010Now that I've updated to 2.1, most of the apps (weather and time apps) no longer work correctly.I live in Panama City Beach but these apps continue to tell me I am slightly north of Tallahassee over 100 miles away and in a different time zone. Stays the same regardless of GPS on or off,I have deleted and re-installed all of the offending programs and that didn't help either.Everything was great prior to the update.

May 18, 2010I found this on Android Central (thanks to IzelTokatl) and someone there did verify it worked for OTA 2.1 phones. I tried it on my leak version 3 phone and I got the Hboot error again. I'm thinking this does not bode well for phones with the leak as once Verizon releases the upgrade for download from PCD or HTC we still won't be able to use it until the Hboot problem is fixed. The following instructions for doing the downgrade to 1.5 are cut and pasted from the Android Central forum and I edited them for PC's: Download the MR2 Upgrade Eris ROM from verizon partner: personal Communications Devices
1. Unzip the file
2. Plug your phone into your PC.
3. Navigate to folder ADR6200_MR2_Upgrade
4. Run .exe file in the folder (RUU_Desire_C_Verizon_WWE_1.17.605.1_release_signe d_with_driver.exe)
5. follow on screen instructions.
HTC Droid Eris : Bluetooth For Earpiece Doesn't Work
Dec 3, 2009We have tried everything to get a bluetooth earpiece to work with the HTC Droid. The only thing that works is answering a call and the quality is questionable.
You cannot use voice dialing at all. Last call redial doesn't work. Nothing that we have come to take for granted on cell phones for years works. If a 3 year old Motorola flip can do it, it can't be that hard.
Anyone have any idea if this is going to get fixed in the next release? I didn't find it even described in the release for December 11th.
Sprint HTC Hero :: Why Doesn't Yahoo Mail Work On WiFi Connection
Mar 17, 2010This is something I have wondered about Android OS/Hero/Sprint since day one of my purchase, but I have never brought it up here. When mobile network is off and WiFi is enabled, I cannot retrieve my Yahoo Mail. It has never really bothered me, because when mobile network is connected and WiFi is off, my mail app (which is connected to Yahoo - I don't use Gmail) worked perfectly fine. Does anybody else use Yahoo as their email server and has the same issue? Is it just Google sticking it to their customers and to Yahoo by saying "ok, if you wan't to use our (#1 competitor's) email service, then we will make it so it will only work on Mobile Networks.

Jan 8, 2010I dropped my phone (htc eris) in snow but it didn't submerge and I checked the water damage indicator and it still has the little red x's on the white strip so there was no water damage. But now the phone is randomly stuck in headphone mode. I have searched the forum and the only fix people have mentioned is rebooting and taking out the battery... That doesn't work for me.

Jun 13, 2010I text. A lot. It's very irritating when the keyboard on the Eris can't keep up with how fast I type. I'll be finished with my message, and the last few words take 1-3 seconds to show up, which is fine I suppose. However, when I make some errors, the auto-correct feature doesn't work because apparently my typing speed is too quick for it.
Everything works fine when I type slowly, but that's annoying too.
I barely have any apps besides the stock ones. In running services I only have the calendar, Google Voice, Touch Input, and BatteryTime running. I don't use any app killer, I have animations and haptic feedback turned off. I don't know what else I can do to speed this phone up.
This problem, the lag in switching from portrait to landscape, and the lag with calls is really making me want to sell my Eris and purchase the Incredible, or I may wait until the "Moto Droid X" releases in July....or is that just a rumor?

Jan 19, 2010got a few things im not sure how to fix or what im doing wrong. first off my alarm clock does not go off in the mornings for work. i set a alarm for a few mins ahead of the actual time to see if it works and it goes off. but the next morning nothing still. also both my emails do not refresh themselves anymore. i have to go in and refresh to see if i got any mail. Another thing is when i change my notification ringtone for my text messages it does not change to what i set. i go back in and it is still set to what i put it at but when i get a text its not what i set... does anyone have any ideas on any of this. im sure im doing something wrong but its driving me crazy

a) Speaker doesn't work in call (very weak). works well in ringtones etc.
b) Scrolling contacts by letter doesn't work.
Other than that this is a leap forward, especially with the overclock options!
Both bugs, as well as others, fixed in 1.6.3.1 update!
HTC Eris :: Flashing ROM Over ROM - Sync Doesn't Work
Aug 30, 2010Will flashing a new ROM over an existing one wipe out all the apps and settings. including contacts? If so then what is the method to backup and bring it all back. To much of a pain to continually re-install apps and resync (particularly since HTC sync doesn't work very well).

Sep 2, 2010So I used to use Swype on xtrROM 3.0.3 and it worked fine. After switching to 4.0.6.1, the swiping action doesn't produce any text but tapping the letters does. I've been all over the Swype forum and see a lot of complaints that Swype has the same problem on Froyo. Any ideas? At least I still was able to find SahpeWriter but it isn't as smooth as Swype was.

Jan 28, 2010for some reason i can't seem to set up my personal yahoo email account. i keep getting an error saying i'm not authenticated? i just logged in with this pc and didn't have any problems. i was trying to set it up using the mail widget google /gmail worked just fine with their widget are they trying to just force me to use gmail only anyone have any similar problems and/or tips to get it set up. i would like to move to one email account but you know how it is, you get on, you get another, people have the old address guess i could forward yahoo to gmail.

The phone and everything on it work fine except it is running Firmware 2.0 When I check for updates it says that there are no updates available. My old Droid that broke was running the 2.2 How do I upgrade to the 2.2 or will the update just appear one of these days? Also the yahoo mail app does not appear in the marlet on the new phone but I had been running it on my old phone. Is this due to the older operating system?

So, with some investigating we found that K-9 Mail Beta is no long a beta version. It's just "K-9 Mail", version 2.000. And it isn't as robust as the beat version. What's up with that?
Better backup your old beta version if you like it. And don't update to the new until they get that mess straightened out.

But use it in the afternoon...anywhere from 7 to 9 satellites are found.After the time stamp issue with the camera, I'm wondering if there's a similar issue with the GPS.

For example, if I put someones bday on july 14th and look at that same day the next year, it shows their bday on the 13th. I tried this on my Aria and on my friends Incredible and Evo. So what gives, is there a fix for this. I've tried downloading several calender apps, but they always just have a different layout and different functions, but in the end they just end up doing the exact same thing.

Dec 8, 2009I'm trying to determine whether or not my phone is defective, or if this is a current problem with the Cliq.
Of the apps I've downloaded, only a few of them have worked. Of those few that work, some don't work right. Has anyone had problems with these apps crashing on them, or just not working correctly?
- Nice Battery (see description at bottom of: My Ultimate CLIQ settings (so far))
- WeatherBug (kept showing the wrong location, crashed when trying to change location)
- Snake - doesn't work just says its "paused"
- RingDroid - crashes when I select the "Facebook Pop" button
- Layar - screen is rotated 90 degrees at all times
There have been others, but usually I just uninstall them right after discovering it doesn't work right.
