I used Google Domains / Apps for my mail..so instead of @gmail, I have mine @absolutebica.com.however, when I send a test email to my account...it never shows up automatically. I am finding I have to physically go into my settings, data synronization, and manually sync my mail for anything new to show up.Whats up? Is there a specific time limit set somewhere for when it checks for new mail?

So when i press the phone button to make a call there is a list thats way bigger than just my phone contacts. It automatically synced all of my facebook friends that had there phone numbers on their profile. I dont want all of these people in my contacts. How should i go about doing this? Should i just manually delete them? I did get the new 2.1.
View 26 Replies View Relatedfor some reason i can't seem to set up my personal yahoo email account. i keep getting an error saying i'm not authenticated? i just logged in with this pc and didn't have any problems. i was trying to set it up using the mail widget google /gmail worked just fine with their widget are they trying to just force me to use gmail only anyone have any similar problems and/or tips to get it set up. i would like to move to one email account but you know how it is, you get on, you get another, people have the old address guess i could forward yahoo to gmail.

I get so few that it would be better for me to be able to simply do a "manual" check when I want, rather than have the phone check all the time. Besides, I don't NEED to be notified every time I get an email since most are crap anyway.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got the weirdest problem ever with my HTC Hero.The gmail application does not refresh automatically so as to fetch incoming e-mail. Even worse, it doesn't even do that when I manually do that (menu --> refresh)There is one situation: If I change one of the settings for Labels ("description = select which labels are syncronised") it does fetch e-mail from my inbox, but only if I manually refresh. It doesn't make any sense that my gmail application can only fetch new mails after a (random) modifcation in my settings. I would like my gmail to refresh .... well.. as often as possible and automatically, since I will not know beforehand when someone has sent me a mail.
For the moment my label settings are as follows:days for syncronisation: 1 day
labels
inbox: syncronise for all items
with star: syncronise for all items
eehh. well actually all my folders are "syncronise for all items"
I just got the Droid Eris yesterday and I was setting up my gmail accounts. I noticed that the only way to view my school gmail account was through the gmail app, however I can view my personal gmail account with the mail app on my home screen. I have tried to select my ASU gmail account for that app but it doesn't give me an option to show it. Is there any way to add that account to the mail viewer?

None of those suggestions made a difference.So to test I sent myself an email and had the GMAIL app open on the ERIS.It sometimes give me a conversation notice but does not actually download the email to the app for a long time. And then only if I force a refresh.I have full 3G where I am so that can't be it. Also, I do no have a task killer and I keep mobile on all the time.The ERIS doeseverything else very well with the exception of e-mail.

-Is there any way to set Gmail so that it doesn't push as often? I use that as my primary email account so it seems like my phone is constantly notifying me. I want the option to check Gmail without having to worry about my battery dying b/c of constant notifications.

I'm finding the 2.2 browser doesn't delete mail or archive from Gmail when I'm using it. Although the mail disappears from the list while I'm using the Android browser, when I connect to Gmail on my computer all the mail I thought I had deleted is still there. Anyone else having this problem? Using HTC Desire.

I've had Hotmail for over 10 years and do not want to convert over to GMail as my primary address.Get new email, delete from PC, still on phone (as long as it was received to the phone before PC deletion)Get new email, don't delete, shows up on phone and PC.Is there anyway to link up Hotmail to work like GMail? View 2 Replies View Relatedwhy my S4 is deleting all my contacts from it. I have my contacts synced with my gmail contacts and this has been the case for years. I had a Samsung Infuse before this and have never had a problem. I've had the S4 for about 3 weeks now and this hasn't happened until yesterday. And since yesterday it has happened 3x's. At first I thought it was a Trulia app (realestate app) that I was using to try to call some realtors. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence but the first 2 times I was on the app and my contacts disappeared. How I recovered them was through the contacts recovery feature on Gmail. I would be SOL if I were out and needed to call someone on my contacts list immediately and without access to my laptop.

But I noticed that if I change a contact on the Droid the changes are NOT synced back to Gmail.
At the moment if I look on the Droid for Contacts/Accounts/ me@gmail.com, I see Sync is ON, Calendar is synced up to present time, Mail is synced up to present, but Contacts are synced until 2. December only!
The sync symbol appears at Contacts, but the date and time isn't changing, it stays at 2. December.
I just got a new incredible last week, and have already been using a Google Contacts account for some time. When entering a new contact on an iPhone, the info is automatically synced with Google contacts, and vice versa. My Google contacts automatically appear in my phone directory, but how can I get new contacts entered thru my phone synced to my google account, without having to manually select 'contact type' when entering the info?

You set this up at initial startup.
I first exported my contacts from Outlook to my gmail in order to add them to my Eris. Later I used the HTC sync to import my calendar but the contacts went with it. Is there any way to remove all of these 'phone' type contacts and keep them from being synced again?

I will send myself a e-mail from my gmail account to my pop e-mail account (another email address) and that email will not hit my incredible until I manually launch the mail app.

My phone went funky the other day so I went to the laptop to grab a friends phone number and realized it wasn't there - only her email address. I haven noticed this with most everyone else, too.I have read (and was told at Sprint) that at some point I'll likely have to do a master re-set and with the update coming next week, I want to make SURE all my info is stored somewhere.

I've been getting annoyed at being unable to assign my ringtones to my gmail synced contacts. Something that was a non issue on my old faithful G1.Samsung, it seems, has seen fit to screw with the contact management making it necessary to have a contact in the phone memory proper to assign a custom ringtone.I have found a simple solution. Download Ringo Lite from the market place. It will allow you to assign ringtones to any contact on the phone in a really simple manner and the app is free. It has other features like assigning rings to sms messages and stuff but I don't care about that or need that. But for setting ringtones it works just dandy.
