My G1 internet browsing is ok, fast enough when using Wifi - could be faster but limited 3G in my area.
Anyway when i use the YouTube app it is terrible. Video page opens but then sticks and a box comes up with (Cannot play video - Sorry, this video cannot be played) whilst audio continues. On box it has a button that says OK, once pressed takes you back to the Youtube app?
My YouTube app isn't working, when I click on the video that I want to watch it gives me an error message stating that the video cannot be played. I've searched on the forum and other models have reported similar problems, but as far as I can see this hasn't been discussed specifically for the tattoo

View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to create a simple link in my Android app. Let's say that it would display text "Google" and after user clicks on it, http://google.com opens in web browser. What is the easiest way to do this? The link should change color whhen it's in pressed state.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to create a TextView that would contain a single link, e.g. google.com. After click it would open google.com in browser. I found a way how to do it, but it's a bit slow, can this be done more efficiently? Now I use this code:
TextView link = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.link); link.setText(Html.fromHtml("<a href="http://www.google.com">google</ a>")); link.setMovementMethod(LinkMovementMethod.getInstance());

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am developing droid apps with eclipse (new to both) and have a basic Layout question. When using the layout tab (rather than the coding tab) in my main.xml, I am trying to create a home screen for when my app opens.
There is going to be the logo at the top center, then 3 simple buttons below, all centered. How do I go about formatting the Logo so it maintains a size relative to the person's screen size, and stays in the center?
I don't want to write sloppy code to where my program looks fine (UI wise) on my screen and is poorly formatted on other's screens. Also, is there good documentation explaining all of the Property values in the layout view?
The standard Youtube URL commands (&loop, &rel, etc) do not seem to work when calling Youtube via an INTENT from inside the android application. The videos play fine, Youtube app comes up fine, but the additional URL commands don't appear to work. Is there another set of commands I should be using or are commands simply ignored using Youtube in this manner. Also, is there any documentation on the interface from android to the Youtube app available on the net?

I am writing an application to play the you tube videos using streaming. First method: I am getting the RTSP URL to the video using GData APIs. Here is the code to play the RTSP url. VideoView mVideoView = new VideoView(this); setContentView(mVideoView); mVideoView.setVideoURI(Uri.parse("rtsp://rtsp2.youtube.com/CiILENy73wIaGQkDwpjrUxOWQBMYESARFEgGUgZ2aWRlb3MM/0/0/0/video.3gp")); mVideoView.start(); But it throws error on both G1 device and emulator (Emulator has some firewall problem as per mailing list) Here is the error message ERROR/PlayerDriver(35): Command PLAYER_INIT completed with an error or info PVMFFailure, Second method: A hack way to get the path of 3gp file from http://www.youtube.com/get_video?v=<VideoID>&t=<>&<>.. After getting the file path and I can call setVideoURI and it plays fine. But it is a hack way to achieve the requirement. I have checked the Youtube App also, it also does the hack way to play the you tube url.(Checked with logcat). I have tried changing from VideoView to Media Player but no change in the error. Is there a "Clean" way to do this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just bought my first android phone. Everything works tip top, however there's zero audio for youtube videos and also for that other program. I forget the name, GoTv is something. Anyway, no audio with either. What's going on? I've looked through settings and even through my little instruction book and there's nothing on having to turn on the sound.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the Droid by Motorola from Verizon. I'm trying to use a youtube downloader to download youtube videos to my laptop and then convert them to AVI files and drag and drop them to my SD card so that I can view them on my Droid. The problem is the files either don't show up on the card when I attempt to play them on the device if they are in AVI format or if I choose not to change the format only the audio is played by the phone so I can't see any video. Any suggestions? I know this is a possibility because a coworker has done this on a BB Tour. I had him Bluetooth transfer some files and those show and play but the ones I'm attempting to tranfer by dragging and dropping the the files aren't working.
