Droid did it only with the keyboard slid out. Most other smartphones I'm familiar with do it too.Am I missing some setting or does Android just not do it for some bizarre reason? I've seen home++, not quite what I'm looking for.

Is there a way to backup my homescreens so that if I install a different rom I can still have my home screens setup with all my apps and widgets how I like?
Also, is there an app to backup my apps with all the data. I keep having to input my login and passwords again for Flyscreen and Lookout and I'd like to have my text messages backed up as well.

Most of my time with my new precious has been obsessing over how to arrange my screens.
Why the flip do the widgets lock into such ridiculous places!? Sometimes you could fit a whole other line of regular icons in the space that they leave!
So my question: Do any of you have OCD about how the screens are set up, and how do you set it up to work?

I found a easy way for you non-rooted/non-Home++ to capture your screens. Download the Steamy Window app. Run it and close it right away. Go to the screen you want to print. Press and hold the Home key. Run Steamy Window. Wipe away all the steam. Hit the menu button and save the image. It seems like a lot of steps, but it is pretty quick and easy. The only thing the pic won't capture is the notification bar.

Today I updated to the latest cyanogenmod and like I always do I restore all of my apps with Titanium. However, when I restored helix, none of my apps were restored to their appropriate home screen like it normally is. It's a pain to drag them all one by one again to where I want them. Am I missing something, or is there an app out there that will remember them next time?

On Saturday evening, I went to look up a score and found my Droid's homescreens wiped clean. I mean nothing was there. Folders, shortcuts, widgets, all gone. Nothing but my background. I thought I hit some reset or a magic delete function. After a few minutes of befuddlement, I cycled the power. Lo and behold, everything was back. Now, I'm very patient with glitches, so I didn't really think anything about it. Until this morning, when buddy texts me having the same exact problem. I advised him to reboot. Screens came back So I'm not hearing anything about update pushes, so I've gotta ask if anyone else saw this bizarre behavior in the past 24 hours.

I've been adding and changing things constantly on my Droid X since I got it, as I know most of you have. I thought I'd make this thread to show some newcomers a decent app list, and home screen setup. If anyone has any questions, don't hesitate to ask.I'll start with my current apps, and then post some pics of my home screens.

I have a contact picture on one of my home screens with two + signs up under it. I can't figure out how to get it off of my home screen. If I download and app and I decide I don't want it, How do I get rid of it? Sorry for the (probably stupid) questions, but these two things are really bugging me at the moment.

My phones dockbar does not go away when you change home screens. It just puts the other dock tab over it. Is this normal. And what is the difference between a factory reset and a clear all cache

It's nothing special but I got my 5 Droid X home screens set up, for now, using LauncherPro and figured I'd take capture a few screen shots. I like to keep everything simple and clean with apps put in seperate "sections" without having a bunch of widgets in the way. Feel free to ask any questions and if you want screen caps of certain things let me know.

I know this is becoming quite a root-centric forum, but for us non-rooters, I think getting 5 home screens will be the biggest upgrade in 2.1. It hasn't been confirmed though so as soon as someone finds out, LET US KNOW.If we get all the multi-touch + 2.1 Gallery + 5 home screens I will be a very happy camper.

If I am using LauncherPro and want to switch back to the original home screens..........how would I go about doing that? I don't want to uninstall.......just switch back for a bit.
Are the widgets sizeable and customizable in LauncherPro?

I really liked the expose-like (Mac's expose) feature on the HTC Evo where if you pinch out it will show a spread of all your home screens as little thumbnails--like mac's expose feature. Will this be available on the Droid X?

Two things I'd like to be able to do with my incredible.First is reduce the number of homescreens. Seven is really pointless for me, it makes finding the right screen take a little longer and there's just not enough good quality widgets that I need to use. I could do better with 5 and possibly just 3.Second is that when I'm not on a homescreen and I hit the home button, I'd like it to go back to the LAST homescreen I was on, not the center one. And if I'm already on a homescreen, once again pull up the homescreen select menu, instead of going to the center homescreen. It's a waste of a button press to always go to that center screen when pressing the home button.

Does anyone have any ideas on when the update comes if it is going to reset our home screens and settings and all that good stuff. I came from the blackberry world where any major os upgrade meant you needed to back up your phone first before doing the update otherwise all of you stuff was gone when you were done.

So oddly enough my wife's Eris does not let her long press ANY of the bottom two rows of app icons/widgets. I can long press any of the top two rows apps/widgets fine to remove or add in an empty space. but the bottom two rows I can't remove or add with a long press.anyone else have this issue? I'm trying to figure out whats new but she isn't that into her phone so she never installs stuff on it, im the one tweaking and playing with her phone and I haven't touched it in a week this started happening randomly 2 days ago.
