How can you tell what version you are running? When the new version comes and if it downloads in the middle of the night I want to know what version it is. I was told at the Verizon store that the new version will have voice for its Google maps telling you where to turn etc.

So I am running an older version IC3ROM (4+ months old). When I left, Froyo was a buzz word, and leak rooting was a dream rumored to never happen. Is it time to upgrade to something new? I can't really complain about IC3ROM, as with Launcher Pro, it has been great. I don't particularly like the idea of starting over, but if there's something out there worth it, I'd give it a go. Opinions? I don't really care about Verizon's interface as I always replace it with launcher pro, but performance and stability is #1 concern.

I updated it to Version 1.2.6, and I must say the new changes are terrible. Facebook pictures no longer sync. 2.) Calling a number after dialing is more difficult as instead of having a fairly large area to click to call, you have to exactly touch the tiny phone logo, 3.) Before I could click the bar to change from contacts, recent calls, and favorites. Now I have to swipe to go between the three. The one positive with the new upgrade is the developer fixed a bug where the dialer would always crash if you attempted to add a missed call number to your contacts. Not that works fine. But losing the other three things are enough for me to want to go back.

I have a TON of apps installed and aTrackDog is slow to generate the information. Plus you then have to view the exported file separately from the app used to create the file. App List puts together a list quickly but rarely exports the version info. And I know that one can get app version info from Manage Applications on the phone but that too is slow to generate the information. Is there a FAST and easy way to see the version of the app? Would be nice to able to see something right from the App Drawer but I don't see any option other than the Manage Applications section of the phone and having to wait.

Ive noticed now, that after about a week with my Droid Eris, although a love it, it seems to be running much slower than when I bought it. I just created this thread for people to add anything that might help the Eris run as quickly as possible.
1. power phone completely off every couple of days.
2. advanced task manager seems to help
3. clear browser cache!!! - this helped me immensely. Settings>Applications>Manage Apps> then find your browser and clear the cache. do this with other large apps.
Anyone heard? I'm ignorant to all that stuff.

I go to manage applications and then I try to sort by running but I see no order of which apps are running and the only ones I know that are running are the ones that say force quit. Is this correct? If so, is there any other way to easily find out which apps are running. Is there a way to sort them and be able to find the running applications without having to manually clicking on each app? I have tons of things on this thing and it takes forever to do this.

Do we know if someone is working on rooting the leak versions? I know a lot of questions. My phone works really well on ver2 and I am afraid to go to ver3 and get the crap everyone else is dealing with, but root would be nice.
