HTC EVO 4G :: How Do I Find Hardware Version?

I just got my EVO, can anyone tell me how to find what hardware version I have?
Found myself needing to compare old and new app versions on my EVO but couldn't find a quick way. I was hoping there might be an alternative to the methods I used. I have a TON of apps installed and aTrackDog is slow to generate the information. Plus you then have to view the exported file separately from the app used to create the file. App List puts together a list quickly but rarely exports the version info. And I know that one can get app version info from Manage Applications on the phone but that too is slow to generate the information. Is there a FAST and easy way to see the version of the app? Would be nice to able to see something right from the App Drawer but I don't see any option other than the Manage Applications section of the phone and having to wait.

I am posting this in the general Android forum because my question surely isn't device-specific.
I own a Motorola Defy+ and I'm running CM 7.2 at the moment but tried JellyBean lately.
I am writing the report for my project and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to find the current version of the Dalvik VM. My phone is a Dev phone running cupcake.

View 10 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody have a link to get an older version of Dialer One? Is there a way that I can revert back to my previous version? I updated it to Version 1.2.6, and I must say the new changes are terrible. Facebook pictures no longer sync. 2.) Calling a number after dialing is more difficult as instead of having a fairly large area to click to call, you have to exactly touch the tiny phone logo, 3.) Before I could click the bar to change from contacts, recent calls, and favorites. Now I have to swipe to go between the three. The one positive with the new upgrade is the developer fixed a bug where the dialer would always crash if you attempted to add a missed call number to your contacts. Not that works fine. But losing the other three things are enough for me to want to go back.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am having my Galaxy S delivered tomorrow and was wondering what protection people are using. I was going to use some sort of film protector, such as Zagg invisible shield and a Flip Case. But the only flip case I can find for the Galaxy S looks horrid, and I am not sure on the texture of Zagg Invisible Shields.I have also considered silicone gel cases, but I am having trouble finding one that is nice, and pouches in combo with a screen protector. What would you use and if I did buy a screen protector, which brand should it be, I want one that will protect but with minimum difference to the feel or colour of the screen.
View 18 Replies View RelatedI used to be a C/C++ programmer before getting in to android. I am not sure how people maintain 2 versions of a program without using #ifdef preprocessor macros. Right now I am changing the package name in eclipse and changing the code manually, but this seems really inefficient. Can anybody suggest a good way of having 2 or more projects that share most of the code?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm planning on getting LockBot when I get my EVO and I was wondering, what's the difference between the free version and paid version. I basically want the Moto Droid lock screen on my EVO for the slide to toggle sound on/off feature due to the lack of an external switch on the EVO. Would I be best to get the paid version or will the free version do that?

View 1 Replies View RelatedLet's say for example that I have some Android app that does X. The free version has ads or basic features. I want to have a paid version that removes the ads and adds extra features. How can I use the paid app as a "license key" to unlock the features in the free app? So the user would install the free app, then install the paid app to get the extra features, but they would still run the free app (which would now be unlocked). What's the best approach to doing this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI got my Evo on the first day. I rooted it and was using the Bugless Beast. I then really wanted 2.2 so I did not do the OTA. I did whatever was recommended at the time to go to 2.2 and not lose root. I just followed the guides and unfortunately don't remember what method I used for either one. Months later, my phone starts to reboot whenever, so I try to do research and I see I am on the PRI 1.34.
Now I know that has nothing to do with my rebooting but now I am trying to get a better version of the PRI. So I do the 2 step unroot method (HTC Sync and RUU) after doing the unrevoked forever with the S-ON feature. Well I'm still on the 1.34 PRI. My phone does not reboot anymore. But now where I work I am always on 4G Roaming or 3G Roaming. How I can get back to stock 2.2 with at least 1.70.
So, I rooted my EVO days before the recent September framerate fix was released. Now I need to "re-root" with the new version. Hate to be dense, but how do I do this, as simple as possible? (steps, where to find the best ROM, etc). I'm just not sure what step to pick back up on and re-do the root with the new version. By the way, I used this walkthrough to do the initial 2.2 root (the videos are so easy to follow)
