Is there an application for watching live news on the Eris? I would prefer to be able to watch CNN Live on my android but any big news channel would do. Also, I plan on placing the eris on the cradle at my desk and having the live news play on it almost all day, will this hurt the phone's hardware because of such excessive use?

Anybody watching anything? I see slingbox isn't supported yet and Hulu needs flash player. I haven't looked into orb yet.
View 10 Replies View RelatedWhen I purchased my droid a month ago, all the pics on facebook for the live/news feed were showing up perfectly. About 2 weeks ago, none of the pictures display. They only have a "x" next to the update. At the bottom of my profile page, there is an option that shows: Photos: Off - On - Max. The setting is set to On.
How is it that the iPhone always has an App for watching live golf tournaments? I know once we get Froyo this should not be an issue, but is it not possible to have an App for our Android phones?

I also tried to watch highlights from a previous match and highlights from Rockness music festival but still no joy? Adobe does not support this was the warning i got but i thought the Desire supported this with its Adobe flash player? However, the rest of the phone was faulty and I had to have it replaced with a "refurbished" phone. Now the large weather animations have disappeared. Puny, smaller animations remain.Does this have something to do with Google's preferences. Can I get the more robust animations back?

When I click the link it states flash not supported and I was then told to down load beebplayer(then told this had been discontinued. Any ideas on the way forward.
One of the big things I was looking forward to with 2.1 was full flash support. But, as we should have expected, thats a no go for 1st gen phones. In this article they make mention of the processor architecture being the reason, does this mean that even after root and some hacking it will never work? Or is that just Adobe's excuse? When I try to watch them using my droid eris, I get a message that says this content can't play on this device.I have been able to watch YouTube videos but not the Hulu or AdultSwimFix ones.Does anyone know what I need to do to be able to watch these videos?Is there an app I need to get or a setting I need to change?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen i first fired up the wildfire it had the news widget on the homescreen ready to go on BBC news. I liked the fact it automatically refreshed the news every so often. Now it has stopped working via the widget. I have tried removing and reinstalling the news widget but the widget just hangs on the message 'loading news'. I can still refresh the news headlines by going into the app but it seems an unnecessary hassle when it used to do this automatically. Why and how to fix this? The phone settings all lok okay.
