I'm looking for a app that can tell me my local news by zip code or city. I live in Pensacola FL, and our beaches are about to get hit with all of this oil in the gulf and with hurricane season approaching I'd like to view the local news without going through the browser.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen i first fired up the wildfire it had the news widget on the homescreen ready to go on BBC news. I liked the fact it automatically refreshed the news every so often. Now it has stopped working via the widget. I have tried removing and reinstalling the news widget but the widget just hangs on the message 'loading news'. I can still refresh the news headlines by going into the app but it seems an unnecessary hassle when it used to do this automatically. Why and how to fix this? The phone settings all lok okay.

Now I have to publish an update to this application to fix some little bugs, but I am afraid that downloading and installing the update will delate the local database associated with the previous version.
I would like to know how the update system works. Will installing an update completely delete all the apk, files, databases associeted with the previous version?
If so, how can I avoid this in my code?
I am having a issue with the news widget on the motorola droid x to where when i bring up the scroll window and start scrolling through articles, I see one that has a interesting looking title but it is to long to fit the whole title on the bar so i click on it and wait for the webpage to load only to find out it is not what i thought it was about... is there any way to get this widget to show titles in smaller font or can someone suggest another widget to collect rss feeds?

So this morning I upgraded to the newest BB 0.2.1, and its still doing this. I've cleared the data, removed the widget and force stopped it and cleared the data again. Anyone else having this issue? I'd simply remove it but I don't really know where to get it again since its built into roms these days (I don't TiBu it)

I know I sound like a loon but news and weather is part of my daily morning ritual and this just made it better!

However when I view "all articles" unread or not it lists everything it has pulled down. There are currently 500+ items in the "all articles" and I cant seem to delete. how to remove items i have read already or at least if they will be truncated somehow.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I purchased my droid a month ago, all the pics on facebook for the live/news feed were showing up perfectly. About 2 weeks ago, none of the pictures display. They only have a "x" next to the update. At the bottom of my profile page, there is an option that shows: Photos: Off - On - Max. The setting is set to On.
I am able to access my photos, friends etc., but when I click on News Feed, I get "No Content. An error has occurred while fetching data. MalformedJSON". Deleted/re-installed and made no difference.
