HTC Droid Eris :: Sync & Charge Cradle

I have been searching all over the place for a good Charging cradle for the ERIS and I think I have finally found one. Amazon.com has this snazzy looking cradle that also supports the charging of an additional battery (for those of us that bought an extra or an extended life battery ). I am definitely going to be getting myself one of these (especially for the less than $20 asking price!)Anyway, click the link and check it out. I was so excited that I had to share. Maybe this will save some of you folks some search time.

I just received my 2 dual charging cradle dock and the battery charges in the back slot but the front phone doesn't charge or sync. What does it mean "appendant switching adapter"? Is there something I don't know here? Both don't sync or charge the phone while its sitting in cradle.

I am looking for a dock/cradle that will work with a hard leather case. I don't want to have to take the case off everytime I go to use the dock. All the docks I have seen seem to be a very tight fit. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I have an issue with my desk cradle app. It somehow magically is now linked to my home button. Everytime I press the home button, my desk cradle app starts. It does it even though I restart and do a battery pull. I do have the desk cradle that I use. Has anyone seen this before, and is there a simple fix for it? thank you.

My battery keeps on over heating when i charge it. My battery started acting funny this week when i plugged it in to the charger and it would charge stop charge stop continuous. Should i take it up to Verizon and see what they say.

First of all, I'm hoping this isn't a duplicate thread. I honestly looked through the first 40-odd pages of threads in hope of not duplicating an existing topic but I gave up. Here's what's up. Got my Eris around the first of April. It worked great, even after the firmware update in May. First week of June I dropped it. It had its silicone case on so the outside glass didn't break but the LCD display inside did. Found an OEM parts supplier, bought a new LCD and installed it with relative ease. What I've got going on now is that the stupid thing won't charge. Took it to Verizon and the chick there tried to charge it with one of their chargers and it still wouldn't work. She had to send me a new battery since they didn't have them in stock there and it came today. I popped it in and it's got a tad more than half life left but it also will not charge.

I finally received my Eris today. So... I rushed home, plugged the phone into the wall, and did the activation. (This was about four hours ago.) My phone has yet to be charged. By far... this has taken way more than any of my other pones. (Then again, this is my first Smart phone.) So... how long does it usually take for the phone to charge?

My phone died on me at work tonight. I got in my truck to come home and plugged in my car charger. When I turned on the phone it did the "Connect to pc screen" and I just selected charge only. It has never done this to me before. When I got home I also plugged it into the wall charger and it did the same thing. Also randomly now, the little headset with a microphone icon pops up. I have turned the phone on and off and also pulled the battery but it still does it.

So I'm running eris 2.1 v3, and I've had a overheating problem since I've taken the leap and stopped using a task killer. Now every single time i charge my phone, it will charge extremely slowly and overheat to as high as 133 degrees. I'm assuming that the problem is apps running after i believe I've closed them (closed by menu->close, or the back button until homescreen) but i thought that the apps end up closing themselves, am i doing something wrong?

I don't know if anyone had this issue, but it takes roughly an hour and a half to get 20% of my battery to charge, on the other hand I lose 50% of the battery life in One Hour. Is my battery Done? or is this a 2.1 v3 Leak? I've shut the phone of completely, and charged the phone. It still takes several hours to recharge. Anybody having this bad of battery with the Leak?

I did this factory re-set last night to try and take care of some pretty bad keyboard lag in the browser and a few other sniggly problems which seem better. BUT now I have a pretty major issue I have never encountered before. When I plugged into a USB on my macbook last night to charge only, the indicator showed it was charging. When I woke up this morning, it said it was still charging and only showed about 75% full. Huh? I thought. That makes no sense. Now I am in a conference, typing and tweeting away on my MB, with my Eris plugged into it and it shows the lighting bolt in the battery but doesn't show the green bar animation in that battery. Instead, it shows just above the level where it would get yellow. The red charging LED is on too.
Then, after about 1.5 hours of this, the screen goes dead. I hold the power button and the phone reboots (so it had been off). Once it goes through the process, I get the message to connect my charger. Not a warning of 10 or 15% battery. Just connect now and a big empty red battery on the screen. I plug it back in and back to a lighting bolt in the battery but no moving green bar, a red LED above that and the trackball flashing white. In other words, now that I've done a factory re-set, I am getting no charge when plugged into my computer. Haven't tried plugging into the wall yet. I will tonight when I get back to my room, but this is not good. Considering the crappy battery life normally, I plug my Eris into my computer when at work in order to keep it full charged all day. It's also shutting off while plugged into my computer! Since first posting at 10:30 AM today, It is now saying it is charging and showing the battery filling animation, but it's been "charging" since then and has not completed. Battery level is about 25% the moment I unplug it (Settings->Battery) and up time and awake time are identical.

I charge it from the wall outlet, my home PC, my work laptop, and also my car cigarette lighter. I kinda feel like they charge at different rates, but I have a hunch that's not true.

anyone else have this battery charger? and is it taking 8 hours to fully charge the battery? this is crazy. this isnt the exact one i bought, but its the same kind. supposedly mine didnt come from hong kong. if anyone knows of a good battery charger, let me know. My Droid Eris will charge from about 20% to 100% in a matter of 1-3 hours- it's always quite fast! Last night, my phone was at 20% when I went to sleep at about 12am and when I woke up at 6am it was only at 40%. The phone felt very hot. I took it off the charger and put it in another plug. It is now 4pm and the phone is only at 80% and at times feels hot. I checked out the cord and there are no lesions or breaks or any visible problems w/ the cord. I'm not sure what's going on- any thoughts? I'm going to take it to the VZW store to obtain an understanding. It's only been 3-4 months that I obtained the phone.

This has been an issue that's been bugging me the last few days now. The stock wall charger that came with my Droid X is the 5PN5504A, which has an output rating of 5.1V, 850mA. My understanding is that the mini-USB interface is an industry standard for power delivery to portable devices, which I take to mean that any charge source should work (wall charger, desktop PC, laptop) as long it has uses an USB interface. So any USB-->miniUSB cable can be used to charge any mini-usb device, regardless of power source, right?
I already have several other mini-usb devices, such as bluetooth headsets, which all came with their own wall chargers. However, I checked these chargers, and they all have different outputs: 5V @ 200mA, 5V @ 150mA, 5V @ 550mA. Because the default Droid X cable was so short, I was tempted to use these other chargers. I plugged in the 5V@150mA charger to my Droid X, and found that the phone does not show it's charging (the lighting bolt isn't there, there's no animation on the battery indicator). So then I switched to the 5V@550mA charger, and it DOES charge....................

I've got my Droid on it's cradle on my desk. I would like the screen to stay lit or on when it's like this so I can access my phone easier rather than having to turn the phone on each time. Any way to do this?

I've searched the forums and looked at the Sticky above, but it doesn't seem to answer the question. We have one staff member here that bought a Droid Eris (Verizon) and unlike the Motorola Droid, I can't get this phone setup via Active Sync to our exchange server. I setup his account on my phone (M Droid) and it worked perfectly...messages, contacts and calendar all synced up fine. I go back to his Eris, and it says the account cannot be created at this time. All the settings are the same etc., so I'm a little stumped. I called Verizon and they said to wait for the new 2.0 upgrade that's supposed to be coming, but they weren't sure if that had been addressed or not. Am I missing something, or does the HTC Droid Eris not fully work with Active Sync with MS Exchange 2003?

I threw out the box to my droid car holder, inside was the small round adapter to attach the cradle to the dashboard. Of course a week later my car dies, I buy a new one, and I need that tiny little piece. Send me a PM if you have an extra one to sell.

My first question is about the car dock. I am in California and we have a hands free law. I cannot stand wearing the stupid little ear pieces. Right now, I am using my Garmin Zumo GPS as a hands free device. The Zumo syncs BT with my Blackberry and the Zumo cradle has a mic, so I don't need a ear piece. The output is sent through my truck speakers with a tape deck adapter. Works great. My question is this - If I have the phone in the car dock, can I use it is in the same fashion as the Garmin, minus the BT sync of course? Will I be able to make speakerphone calls while in the cradle and port the sound through the tape deck adapter?

Has anyone been able to sync their Eris in Vista? I have yet to get HTC Sync to even see my phone. The only way I know that I can even see it is by doing a USB mount to copy files over to the MicroSD. I did some Googling and it looks like others are having the same problem. Just wondering if anyone found a work around. I have yet to try it on one of my XP machines.
