HTC Droid Eris : Speakerphone Icon Is Always On / How To Turn Off It?
Aug 19, 2010No matter what, my speakerphone icon is always on. This happened after I let my son look at my phone. I cannot find the setting to turn this off.

View 2 RepliesThe speakerphone icon is on at the top and it won't go away. I use the speakerphone every once in a while when i'm on the phone, but not always. I tried turning the speaker phone on then off when I was on the phone, but it didn't make the icon go away. I can't find any settings to make it go away either.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to find the speakerphone function on the phone, and I've followed the directions in the manual, but when I'm in a call and press menu, I only see three functions: add call, flash, and people...
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have the Eris and I signed up for the Visual Voicemail through the widget (?) on the home screen. When I listen to my voicemails, they play through the speakerphone.I have tried to turn off the speakerphone by pushing the menu button when I am in Visual VM.I looked in options and preferences and can't find a way to set the phone so the voicemail doesn't play for everyone to hear.Any ideas? Also, what exactly are the benefits of paying an extra $2.99 a month for this service?

1) Comes with native call recording functionality...?
2) Support call recording with 3rd party applications...? (not using the speakerphone)
Does anyone know how to turn off the sound when you turn the phone on?

View 7 Replies View RelatedWas hoping someone could help me out. I like how my Eris has default buttons to quickly switch on Wifi and Bluetooth, is there an option to do the same for GPS Satellites? i hate going through the settings menu to turn it on or off. I think i've seen pictures of peoples setups where they have this and airplane mode as quick on/off buttons but i can't seem to find it.

It is a small crosshair icon.
I do not show this on my Moto Droid, only on the wife's Eris.
Yeah, so my wife's Eris has had a weird glitch since she got it in January. Before any suggestions, we've tried factory wipe, Settings > Applications and making sure it's the default action, but still no go.
Her messaging icon on the home screen launches other random programs at will. Sometimes it's the last used program, other times it's just completely random apps. I've searched for answers but no dice. Any suggestions? We've also tried recreating a new icon for the screen, and it does the same thing.
*edit* she did have Advanced Task Killer & Advanced Task Manager installed for a time, but has since removed them. I thought maybe it was an app, but she says it has done it since she unpackaged it from the box.
I got my Eris 2 days ago. I updated to 2.1 yesterday, using the update function. I notice there is a new notification? icon in the top bar. It never appeared before the update. I looked through the manual both for 1.5 and 2.1 and it is not listed. It looks like an over the ear earpiece facing to the right, with an arc next to it like the satellite icon has when it is connected.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else having problems with their mobile icon toggling on and off? Mine will not turn off. when I press it, it does its animation but stays green. Im not sure if the 3G is still on or not. I presume its off since i do not see the 3G icon in the top of the screen.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a friend with a moto droid using handcent and he is able to speak a voice quick reply into handcent and it types it out...(handy while driving). I installed handcent on my eris today and do not have the microphone icon available on the quick reply screen. Any ideas how I can get it to work? Is this available on the eris?
Thanks
The only way i can get the GPS status bar icon to not be there is to restart the phone. I can kill all running apps, kill all running services, and put it in airplane mode and it continues to sit there and blink the little green lines for hours.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI swear my speakerphone has gotten much much lower in volume lately and I can't do anything to turn it up. I can play media on the speakerphone and it's loud but even if I turn the volume up all the way during a call it's much quieter, anyone else experience this? It seems like it used to be very loud on speakerphone during a call and now it's very quiet.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have seen people asking about something like this, and I figured I would share it since it is something I have found to be pretty useful.
Car Dock Speakerphone by Everysoft
It's a little app that automatically enables the speakerphone for all incoming and outgoing calls when your droid is in the cardock. For anyone that doesn't use bluetooth, and doesn't want to remove the phone from the dock for a 10 second call, this is a nice app to have.
Is there anyway to clear the New Voicemail Icon from the notification bar w/o actually Checking the voicemail? It doesn't seem to go away for me when I hit clear notfications lol..... IDK why but having notfications on my screen of any phone i've had has bothered me immensly... and I hate checking my voicemail for one message I kno I will be deleting in the 1st 2 seconds of listening too it

Everything I found is for a specific ROM (I have XTRROM3) and looks really complicated.
My phone is showing the low memory icon and it's really annoying, so I'd like to get this figured out.
I signed up for Swype beta, then after I received the notification I installed it.
I made it as a default input option.
Yet, when I open anything that requires a text input, the swype icon does not show up on the keyboard as it did on 1.5.
In onbe word swype does not swype for me.
I have had my Eris for a few weeks and have come across one really annoying problem...evertime I reboot the phone several of my third party apps rename themselves and the icon mutates into something else. The only way to fix is to uninstall/reinstall, but as soon as I reboot it does it all over again. The apps I have problems with:
Google Sky Map
Where
Layar
My Coupons
TasKiller
I am working on a new layout for my UI and I am running into an icon issue. I am using LauncherPro and I want to use a different icon for actual app launcher. The icon I want to use is actually a bookmark icon for ING Direct (it is a small, orange circle). The only way I can get it to work is if I modify the settings to "swype up" for application launch. Unfortunately, if I press the icon I am taken to the ING direct website. Is there a way to pull the icon out of my phone somehow in order to use it as a 'custom icon'?
