Anyways today my sense keeps messing up and wont let me use my phone, is there anyway i can stop this from happening or tell me what m doing wrong

Is it just me or is everyone having the same issues. Ever scene the update on my Eris. my phone Locks up on the lock screen it happend twice already.. anyone else having issues ( This never happened to me before the update)

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I ended up having to get a new Droid X shipped to me cause there was a problem with the screen and it was declared DOA. This new Droid X is working out great for the past couple of days. Now all of a sudden my ringtones are switching on and off and pinging like they don't exist on the SD card, but when I turn the phone off and remove the SD card and reinsert it back in everything's fine but then the "Droid" on/off noise is pinging now. It's the same issue I had with the originial phone, but that one was replaced because after the Froyo update I couldn't get any signal out of my house and Verizon concluded that I was close enough to a tower that I should be getting a minimum of like 3 or 4 bars. So my question is this. What is going on with my phone? I am currently operating on 2.2, I am not rooted. I have not messed with the essence of the phone, since I don't know that much about the software. I have not uploaded any apps that control or silence the phone and all my apps that were uploaded are the ones that I had on my prior phone with the screen issue, and they never caused this issue.
Here is the list of apps on my phone for those of you who would like to know: WordPress, AppBrain, AIM, Adobe Reader, NotePad, ColorPad, Pandora, DroidLight, Where's My Droid, Key Ring, Barcode Scanner, Urbanspoon, Jewels, The Schwartz Unsheathed, Angry Birds Beta, Astro, ChompSMS, Creature Pack Icon, Fancy Widget, and Smartshortcuts. So as you can see it's a very small list of things on my actual phone. I have used soundboards from the android market but that was only on my first phone and they were never ranked any lower than 4 and half stars. I don't download any apps below 4 stars. And I read all the comments as well, and there was nothing fishy or bad written about them. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to make sure I hit everything for you guys to be able to help me. I just don't want to go to Verizon if I don't have to cause they want to reset and send me home and it's a recurring issue if it's like my prior issue. I'm wondering if I have a bad SD card.Edit: Additionally I have the old phone with the screen issue and I had the new SD card that came with the phone, I popped it into the phone I'm currently using and powered it back on, and it's still pinged. I'm just not getting what the issue is cause everything was working fine the night before. All my ringtones were working and then I took it off of silent (the slide to silent from the lock screen, which I use since I haven't heard if the silent profile was fixed) and now everything is messed up sound wise.
I disable the sense by following the steps in the stick and now I cant re enable it. It will not allow me to click the "clear defaults" again. What can I do to fix this or will I have to call for a factory reset?

Because when I get a new text, Hand cent will post an icon in the notification panel and there will always be another notification icon next to it, I think it is the stock app doing that. Now I have set Hand cent as my default messaging app and I am running the 2.1 v3 leak.

1. What exactly is going on when facebook messing up contact lists?
2. I have heard it mentioned a few times that the widgets for facebook and twitter are bad on the battery? Can someone elaborate on this since I am new to these android phones and also anything else I might want to look out for. If so I would be appreciative. Thanks to a situation in my life this phone has to last me at LEAST two years.
I actually like the HTC Sense and right now I'm running xtrSENSE 4.2.1, but was wondering if there were any Android 2.2 ROM with HTC Sense?

A few weeks ago I switched my EVO 4G to the standard Android 2.1 UI through the widely publicized "clear defaults" and "force stop", then pressing "Home" and selecting to default to the Android launcher. This worked very well. Unfortunately for me, I thought this was just going to be a test drive. I wanted to see how it compared to Sense UI, but now I can't figure out how to re-activate Sense. According to the description of the process for other Android phones with Sense, you are supposed to be able to turn Sense back on by doing essentially the same process. Select application "HTC Sense", and do "clear defaults" and "force stop" again. Then press the Home button, and select to default to Sense UI when asked.
This doesn't work on my EVO 4G. When I perform these steps, pressing the Home button has no effect. There is no popup asking which UI to use as default. The standard Android UI remains in effect. I've done a fair amount of google searching, but haven't seen any explanation how to do this so far. I'm hoping that it's possible without wiping the phone back to its initial state. Anyone know how to restore Sense? I'd like to experiment with it, at least until the day Froyo comes out for it.
My battery keeps on over heating when i charge it. My battery started acting funny this week when i plugged it in to the charger and it would charge stop charge stop continuous. Should i take it up to Verizon and see what they say.

It first flashes the HTC sign, then it takes about 10 seconds to load my home screen. Now this morning i installed an update for "spare parts". Im assuming this was the culprit so I un installed. Still having the problem though. Extremely annoying!

View 11 Replies View RelatedSense UI keeps crashing on me! It used to happen maybe once every couple weeks but now I get it 2-3 times a day. I just got Pandahome last night and when I switch from Panda to Sense it restarts sense maybe 1 out of 10 times but the crashing problem began before then so I don't know what's causing it. I'd try a hard reset but last time I did that my phone wouldn't activate and it took Verizon 3 hours to fix.

It's more than a little frustrating as my customized home screen was pretty heavy on the HTC widgets.

View 17 Replies View RelatedGreetings, after having heavily used the the phone for a week here are my Sense UI/HTC apps pet peeves on the Eris (probably not present in Moto Droid - if someone would confirm it would be great):time stamp missing if it's not today (e.g., SMS from yesterday or before don't show what *time* they were received or sent, same for info on when last mail was last sync yesterday ). The system keeps this info, why not display it? This is useful for me.No weekly calendar view - what were they thinking?? (The day view looks so cool - but not useful to me. However, I can just imagine what a nice job they would have done for a weekly view.This is more a wish list item, not a gripe It would be nice to have the screen blank time separately from the phone lock feature

So if it is out there then I am sorry for the repetitive post.I just updated to 2.1, and can't figure out how to switch to the Home instead of HTC Sense Home? Anyone out there know how to do this? Before on 1.5 OS, all I had to do was hold down the "Home" button to display my most recent 6 apps, then hit the button again to pick if I wanted "Home" or "HTC Sense".Now, that does not work.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying a run without sense to hopefully relieve a lot of the lag problems I've been having. I know I should root, but I don't want to while I'm still under warranty and I'd like to give it a try without to see if I would like it without sense. I have launcher pro installed with home switcher and that seems to have changed over fine(with one incident where my sense home came up). The problems I'm having are with the messaging and dialer apps. I've installed handcent and like it, but I still get the notifications for the sense messaging app, so now I get two every text messaged. Also I've installed Dialer one, but the green phone button still fires up the stock dialer. Is there any way to fully replace these parts without rooting? I also really want the calendar app back, is the launcher pro one similar enough? I like seeing the whole month and being able to scroll with just the widget.
