HTC Droid Eris :: Phone Will Not Play Video
Feb 14, 2010So according to HTC the eris is supposed to play wmv file formats. Well I have a video on my phone that is wmv and the phone will not play the video. Any ideas?

May 4, 2010I took a video on my Moto Droid, and sent it to my friend on his Eris. He downloaded the file from Gmail and but when goes to play the file, it states that the video is not supported. We have tried converting it to a .mp4 and it will not play either, even with a couple of App's from the Marketplace same result. Yet I thought the droid/Eris both supported .3GP? Works fine on his PC with Quicktime, and the video plays fine on my Droid. Is it because I took it in Hi-Res mode, and the Eris does not support that screen resolution? Or did we screw something up?

Now i tried to play a video file .3gp from the internet youtube link via my android device ! not emulator. And it worked! But when i tried to play a video file .3gp or .mp4( i converted the mp4 from 3gp ) its not working. Im getting error "Cannot play video Sorry, this video cannot be played"
Tried to play with the link to my device wich is: I:DCIM100MEDIAVIDEO0030.3gp or .mp4 or tried this: I:/DCIM/100MEDIA/VIDEO0030.3gp with "" like: "I:/DCIM/100MEDIA/VIDEO0030.3gp ";
I tried to remove the I: but it didn't change anything.This is the main code im using to play the video files on my device. And there some lines i marked with // wich i used to play from the internet and im not using now.

Jan 21, 2010I went to use my Eris as a music player for the first time. I plugged in my headphones and tested it out by playing a song. The song plays loud and clear through the headphones, but also plays loud and clear through the phone speaker/earpiece. I could not figure out why it would not just play through the headphones. (I have tried a pair of apple earbuds, as well as basic Sony ones).

Media :: Since 2.2 Phone Won't Play Video's
Oct 19, 2010Since the 2.2 update for most phones, I've noticed that my 2.1 (Samsung Moment) won't stream video's now. Before video's would stream over my connection, however 2.2 comes out and know I keep getting error's or programs just shut down. Is this just a case of host programs switching to the new android format?

May 27, 2010I take videos on the HTC Hero, connect the phone to PC, then drag videos from phone to desktop. They come out as .3gp files.When I try to play them back, each program either crashes (Quicktime, VLC), or tells me that it cannot playback this type of codec (Windows Media Player).The videos playback fine on the phone, just not when I bring them over to my PC.I am running Android 2.1 and Vista.
