I too keep getting notified with texts on the stock text message window, even though I turned off the notification on it. Any help to fix this so I only get the Hancent window/messages?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy friends Droid with 2.2 displays a weird notification window whenever she gets text messages. When she gets a text, the notification window comes up with the message, the background picture is a nicely rendered white Android holding a phone up to his "ear". Across the top, it says something along the lines of "leslie2099 is 0.7 miles away. Chat Now!". I'm an HTC Hero user with Cyanogenmod 6, so I am reasonably familiar with Froyo, but I can't figure out what this is from. Any ideas?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThere are some minor scratches in the window that the camera lens uses to take pictures on the battery cover. Even if I don't get all of them (some MIGHT be too deep, its hard to tell whether my fingernail catches or not in that little area), it would still be better if I could get some of them out. Any way I can do this without harming the lens even more?The scratches are on the outside of the cover, btw, not the tiny circle opening on the inside.

I went to Messages-Menu-Setting and removed all the checkmarks next to any item listing notifications. I then enabled notifications on the Handcent by following the same steps. This does not seem to work. I still have the default stock SMS. Can someone walk me through how to set it up?

Well heres the question. When i receive my picture messages with animation it wont play all i get is a download button.. I click on the download button and all i get to see is the picture i click on view and it wont do the animation or anything.. is there any app i can get to make it animate and play the music like my old gravity did..

View 10 Replies View RelatedSometimes with my Eris when I try to type a text message or make a phone call, nothing shows up. I can press the letters and see the auto-correct as if its typing, but on the message bar, there are no words being typed. For making a call I can type in numbers, but when I press call, nothing happens, whenever this happens I have to wait a few minutes before it starts to register the typing again and sometimes i have to restart my phone all together. Is this happening to anybody else? And, if so, does anybody have a fix?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a question. I recently downloaded Handcent to try it out and one day out of nowhere, MMS messages won't download. I click the download button an retry and it fails after about a second. I uninstalled Handcent, dialed *228 to reprogram, and sometimes it works, but often it doesn't. Sometimes, I'll even get an MMS from one person, but the message appears in a different thread, still not being able to Download. I searched for the problem and came across this being common for the Hero, but I'm not sure if its related to my Eris. Anyone with an Eris have experience with this? Or tips? I want to stay away from a Hard Reset, but will try it if I can sync my contacts.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy HTC Eris stops receiving mms messages after about 5 weeks and sometimes sms messages dont come thru either. This is the second time this has happened. Often im not even alerted that a message tried to be received. Other times i get this generic message as an incoming message that says who its from, the message size (which always states 30kb), and expires (5 days from the current date). It also shows a gray box that you can touch to download but it tries and then sends a message to the bottom of the phone that says "download of message unsuccessful." Occasionally when a new pic message tries to come thru, it forces an old unsuccessful picture message thru. Verizon has no answer or resolution nor does HTC. I have tried using the other message programs and they dont work either.

I've read about text message issues on the Hero, but so far not anything about the Eris yet. Hopefully it was just a 1-time fluke up until then it's been working perfectly for 3 days now, and its working perfectly fine again now.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIm using the stock messaging app and for about 3 weeks or so I haven't been able to receive an MMS messages. Everytime i receive one it will say in the notification bar "message not downloaded, retransmission scheduled for xx:xx" and in the actual message there is an option to download but when that is selected it just reverts back to the message in the notification bar.

2.The application Google Maps (process com.google.android.apps.maps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
3. The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.Also when I try to open "settings" I get an error message for that as well as "phone".also do not have service! I think I killed my android!
I have over 5,000 text messages and I can't erase them. When I go to delete all it takes a while and eventually asks me to "Force Close". What do I do?

Android just doesn't want to delete them, I've heard that it can take 5+ minutes to delete message threads 500+, I'm screwed because one of my threads has over 2000! This phone should be storing older txt messages to the sdcard anyway, not sure why it wouldn't. Basically this thread was made to complain how crappy clearing out messages was.

I click it, and the little circular arrows spin round and then I get the same message. Refresh brings the same result. *Sometimes*, however, doing one of these things will actually deliver the messages.
