First of all just got my eris for verizon and i LOVE this phone. coming from the storm this is such a wonderful change. 2 quick questions ( i know i saw the 2nd one somewhere but couldn't for the life of me find it by searching).

Is there a way I can hide pictures or create new folders to put personal pictures in and hide that? You know when you let someone look at your phone to see pictures is there a way I can have a spot to have my personal pictures I do not want people to see or hide them? I tried creating a new folder cant figure it out.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo when I get texts, gmail, completed app downloads, etc I get notification icons at the top as usual. When I slide the notification bar down to reveal the nofications and click on an item, the notification screen doesn't hide back to the top of my phone -- it just stays open. I either have to hide it manually or I have to hit the back button, which sometimes exits the app I was trying to open. 2.1 never did this for me, it always hid when choosing an item. Anyone have a solution to this? I've done a factory reset after 2.2 btw. I've also searched support to see if there was a similar problem, no similar threads.

Use case: Yahoo Weather app, the persistent notification in the pulldown is beautiful. I want it to always be there. However, the little temperature notification icon is pretty ugly, and I want to hide/disable it.
Using JB's "disable notifications" won't work since it will disable the entire notification, not just the icon.
Just a quick question, is there a way, with out installing a theme or Home replacement, to remove the text under the icons, so its just an icon only? also, is there a way to hide the notification area? I thought it would be cool to tap the screen once, and have the batter/time/date/notification area drop down from the top like how it is right now with the stock version, then tap the screen again and it hides the notification area. Wouldn't that be cool? Any way to do this or does something do this already?

I am looking at a good way to hide apps from the list. I want the apps to be able to run (like Email) and do the sync, but not to display the icons in the list. I have seen that ICS comes with a "Disable" function for system apps, but it doesn't work for me because it also prevents the app from running.
I also want a way to launch the apps myself (through a hidden menu or command) at will.
I have tried things like Application Protection, which allows you to password protect the apps you want. However, since the icons are still there, it is still tempting for my kind to click and ask for the password.
My phone has phone storage 2.95GB ,internal storage 52mb ,and external storage 8GB. So can i hide or disable internal storage by fix file "system/etc/vold.fstab"?I wanna hide disable it.

I had my BB configured to disable all LED notifications while in its holster as my wife really has a big problem with flashing lights while we are sleeping. (yeah, i dont get it either...close your eyes and goto sleep!) Anyway, since getting the Droid she has started that old complaint again about my phone flashing at night...soooo...is there any way to disable LED notification for e-mails and SMS? A locale plugin would be great, but I'll take whatever I can get to keep the peace!

If I ever decide to cancel typing (say I have text input open and the Swype keyboard is covering the bottom half of my screen) the keyboard stays open and I have to tap home again for it to disappear. Are there any workarounds for this or is it simply because its beta? I noticed that even if I revert back to the default Sense keyboard it does the same thing.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am currently on my second Eris and I am having problems with my trackball not responding and something screwy with my camera not saving my pictures.
Right now I would rather pay to downgrade to another phone like a BB or even pay full retail value for a completely different Droid because I am afraid if they send me another Eris it is just going to break again.
If I call VZW and talk to them, will they send me another Eris that will most likely to break or will they send me a D1 or an Incredible?
I love my Eris but i just can't use it anymore and i feel like i will keep having problems if they keep sending me refurbs.
I've been following this forum since I got my moment a couple months ago, and I wanted to thank all the posters for the help you've given. I just installed beautiful widgets and I have a nice clock now, but I'm wondering if there's any way to hide the notification bar. I saw in the thread where everyone posted their screens that many of them didn't have the notification bar.

So you decide that you want to add your password to your voice-mail on your eris, this is helpful especially with the proximity sensor, as it appears to disable the screen for a couple of seconds when listening for please enter password.So you input your password for your voice-mail on your phone and now when someone call and leaves a message, it shows on the bottom of the lock screen you have a new message and *86ppXXXX# and your password.Anyone know how to hide the voice-mail password from showing on the lock screen?

I would like to hide or remove unwanted icons from the left side of the notification/status bar. I realize most programs give you this option, but some don't (such as the latest version of Norton security program). It just sits up there and hogs up real estate. Earlier I booted into recovery to make a nand backup and now, my photo app says that it cannot find any photos or videos. I know that they are there because I can go into eStrong and they are sitting there clear as day. So my question is how can they be there yet not be there?
View 5 Replies View RelatedUsually when I want to upload pictures to my computer I hook up my phone via USB cord and transfer them, that way I can edit them and what not. Lately though, every time I try to go into my "DCIM" folder (aka Camera Pictures) to transfer them my Windows Explorer freezes up and I basically can't do anything to transfer my pictures. I have dropped my phone in water but this was a few months ago and every thing else has seemed fine so far. Could it possibly be the SD card?
