Can anyone confirm if the dialer has been fixed? I am specifically interested in hearing from people who have re-installed all of their apps/widgets from the original 2.1 leak. I know the phone runs snappier when its been wiped, but most bugs seem to creep in after most apps are restored. My current dialer (original 2.1 leak) is a steaming pile of fail. I know I am not alone!

With the new OTA that will be pushed out soon, will this correct the compression issue with contact pictures with Google. I have Google as my contact sync and whenever I pick photos of people they get all pixelated once it does a sync with Google. Also will it allow a full screen shot of the person instead of a cropped image?
View 4 Replies View RelatedDid wife's Eris to 2.1 tonite. She was on PRL 51807, prior to 2.1 after 2.1 and *228 option 1 and 2 she was back down to the 51776 that I am currently on. Prior to the *228 she didn't have the sign in error, tested with reboot and also airplane only mode. LOL seems to be the error. Don't know how to get it back up to the 51807.

When i'm looking at the calendar and click on the "agenda" view on the bottom left, it only shows me the Agenda List for the current month. There is no way to swipe or scroll to the next month(s). Is this changed in Android 2.1? Or is there a better, free, calendar Widget out there that does this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedOK I see there are a few threads on this so called "voice dialer".However, if you're driving along and activate voice dialer (which is simple enough, no problem there) what's the point of having to say "Call Robert Smith" and then have to look at the screen, see if it's got the correct name and touch it to make the call?Doesn't this defeat the purpose of voice activated dialing?My older Motorola Krave had a real touch free voice dialer that responded to you and asked if it's choice was correct at which point you could say "yes" and it would dial it.Now we have the latest greatest Androids that can't do that.Whoever developed this app had no clue about the dysfunction and potential hazards involved with this "feature".I love my Eris but was completely disappointed with this app.

I used to tap my bluetooth, have my phone in my purse and say 'Call Bob Mobile' and woosh - it calls Bob on his mobile. I've tried the voice dialer that came with the phone and it can't understand a work I say even when I'm holding it right next to me. It's driving me nuts. Are there any apps that will make my bluetooth call Bob when I tap it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIv had my Eris for about a month now and love it.It's easily the best phone I've had (my previous were all dumb phones). However, this is the frist phone I have had where the voice recognition actually works. Google voice search is incredible. The wierd thing is though, my voice dialer doesnt work AT ALL. I thought it was maybe becuase I was running ATM, but I stopped like 2 weeks ago and it still isn't working. I mean it wont recognize anything- not even redial or open calendar.

When you first make a call with GV selected it pulls up the GV dialer google_voice_android_1.jpg.Then it switches the the Eris dialer.Does anyone know if/how the GV dialer could be used instead of the Eris'?I really like the look of the GV dialer much better than that of the Eris.

What I do like is the dialer on the Samsung Moment. I like the tabs to switch between the call log, contacts and favorites.
Anyone know where I can find one that is similar?

View 5 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to disable the stock dialer? Before 2.1 you could download a dialer and make it the default. Now, with 2.1, that is not possible. So the large "phone" button on the home page is is still the stock dialer even though I have downloaded Dailer One.
View 6 Replies View RelatedBefore the OTA I was able to select which apllication was used when the large "phone" button was pushed on the homepage. I think what used to happen was that when you downloaded a new phone dialer and then pressed the phone button the first time you were given an option as to what app you want to use for this action. Once you chose an app it was always activated when you pressed the phone button. I don't see this happening anymore.

On more than one occasion it will ring and when I answer the call, there's no sound, likewise when I place a call, it won't even ring. If it helps, here are the apps I've downloaded and installed:

I've set my modem slot to 1 but it hasn't fixed the issue, I have disabled haptic feedback and cleared the call log (which is usually pretty empty anyways).
I just got the 2.1 update and I'm just trying to figure everything out.The one thing that I'm having a problem with is changing the default dialer.I had this problem before using aContacts, but was able to fix it in 1.5.But now that I have the 2.1 update,I cannot change the default dialer, which hasn't changed at all. uninstalled and reinstalled aContacts but it did not work. I never got the popup asking which app I want to use as the default.If anyone can help,it would be appreciated.Maybe it's a glitch - I don't know.

I certainly have a lot more friends on Facebook then I care to have in my phone-book. Is there a site where we can petition this issue?

View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery week or so my Eris won't dial out. I get a long silence followed by a network busy error. I go to manage applications/dialer and clear dialer storage and it works fine...as long as I do that or reboot the phone every few days. I found this solution on another forum, but couldn't find much discussion or analysis of the problem.
Does anyone else have this problem? Any long term solutions? It's happened since I got the phone months ago and I have very few apps... almost none when it first started. Not using Google Voice. Still running 1.5.

Is there a way I can turn the vibrate on press off for the dialer? I think that is causing some of the lag. Nothing on my phone vibrates except when receiving a call and when dialing. It's much more responsive with vibrate on press turned off. Also is there a way to silence the emergency dialer?
Is there a dialer that will let me choose which number to ring from a contact directly (long press ?) ?

My husband just rooted my phone for me and I'm looking for a ROM that has the vanilla (I think that's what it's called) dialer. One of my main motivations for going root was to get rid of the awful HTC dialer. I know there are few ROMs out there that use DialerOne as a default but I'm looking for something more like the Moto Droid or the other vanilla ROMs I've seen. A few people are running WhiteWidow ROM but it looks like that one's been taken down for now.

Is there a way to change what comes up when I hit the call button? The only sense feature i miss is the dialer (minus the lag). I currently have my Google Voice settings to *always* use Google Voice, however when I call someone my actual number shows up. If you are unfamiliar with Google Voice, the Google Voice number should show up. This problems seems to be limited to my ROM which has the HTC dialer replaced by Dialer One.
