With the new OTA that will be pushed out soon, will this correct the compression issue with contact pictures with Google. I have Google as my contact sync and whenever I pick photos of people they get all pixelated once it does a sync with Google. Also will it allow a full screen shot of the person instead of a cropped image?

Recently I have noticed my contact pictures in my people widget and when someone calls me are rather blurry and out of focus, they weren't like this, just happened recently, I was wondering if anyone else has seen this problem and no how to correct it, without a hard reset. Have turned phone on and off, removed widget and put it back, looked in settings for some settings for pictures, nada, that I can find.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI've searched for threads/answers about this issue but I haven't found any...and I'm a noob to the forum (and 2.1) so bear with me / don't eat me alive.
I enjoyed the Facebook syncing on 1.5, but I don't really have any interest in bringing over my Facebook contact photos as caller ID pictures (it's annoying when someone posts a picture of a car, for example, as their default picture -- my friend is not a Toyota). I do like seeing status updates in my People app and having access to a unified "updates" panel in People.
I've gone into the "link" settings and changed the photo manually to the Google Contacts photo that I specified, and that works fantastically -- until Facebook for HTC Sense does its hourly sync and overwrites that preference with the contact's default Facebook picture AGAIN.
I've tried syncing, un-syncing, removing the sync option, etc. in the past 2 leaks and this problem remains. Am I missing something or is this just another annoying beta bug that HOPEFULLY will be gone in OTA?
Does the synced Facebook contact pictures still show up blurry, or are the crisp like in 1.5? I haven't seen a thread about this so I thought I would ask.

I am specifically interested in hearing from people who have re-installed all of their apps/widgets from the original 2.1 leak. I know the phone runs snappier when its been wiped, but most bugs seem to creep in after most apps are restored. My current dialer (original 2.1 leak) is a steaming pile of fail. I know I am not alone!
View 19 Replies View RelatedDid wife's Eris to 2.1 tonite. She was on PRL 51807, prior to 2.1 after 2.1 and *228 option 1 and 2 she was back down to the 51776 that I am currently on. Prior to the *228 she didn't have the sign in error, tested with reboot and also airplane only mode. LOL seems to be the error. Don't know how to get it back up to the 51807.

When i'm looking at the calendar and click on the "agenda" view on the bottom left, it only shows me the Agenda List for the current month. There is no way to swipe or scroll to the next month(s). Is this changed in Android 2.1? Or is there a better, free, calendar Widget out there that does this?

I was wondering how to remove the contact photos. I uninstalled syncmypix and also the cache is gone, but I still have the pictures on my contacts.

For some reason, a bunch of my contacts are showing up as their Twitter names, and I'd rather have it be their real name, which I have listed under their Google accounts (for example, GreenMike vs. Mike Green). I even unlinked my Twitter account, but the names stayed the same. Similarly, is there a way to set it so the contact pictures are Google account pictures by default?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince updating to 2.2, when i add a shortcut to someone's contact info by (holding finger on screen>shortcut>contact>John Doe) it does not use the picture. Instead I just get the "shadow outline thingy" for their picture, even though the picture is still there in contacts app.
The only things I've added since doing the update are Facebook and Takephone, but I don't think either of those are the culprit since they are showing their pictures just fine...
So I have my Facebook account set to sync with my contact but I use Google voice all the time for text and phone. Is there a way to get the pictures that go with my contact to show up when they text or call my gvoice number?
All my pictures are from Facebook so if everything works right the pictures I see in gvoice should be the same as the profile pix in FB.
I am currently on my second Eris and I am having problems with my trackball not responding and something screwy with my camera not saving my pictures.
Right now I would rather pay to downgrade to another phone like a BB or even pay full retail value for a completely different Droid because I am afraid if they send me another Eris it is just going to break again.
If I call VZW and talk to them, will they send me another Eris that will most likely to break or will they send me a D1 or an Incredible?
I love my Eris but i just can't use it anymore and i feel like i will keep having problems if they keep sending me refurbs.
Is there a way to increase the font size for the contact page for the Eris? Or maybe there's an app?

Earlier I booted into recovery to make a nand backup and now, my photo app says that it cannot find any photos or videos. View 5 Replies View RelatedUsually when I want to upload pictures to my computer I hook up my phone via USB cord and transfer them, that way I can edit them and what not. Lately though, every time I try to go into my "DCIM" folder (aka Camera Pictures) to transfer them my Windows Explorer freezes up and I basically can't do anything to transfer my pictures. I have dropped my phone in water but this was a few months ago and every thing else has seemed fine so far. Could it possibly be the SD card?

I have an Eris. My friend has an Eris. His contacts have automatically d/l the Facebook pics from the corresponding contacts in his phone. Mine have not. I have to do it manually, which is becoming old. I set F/B to do it (I think) when I first got my phone.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI guess I will give the background. I had over 100 pictures stored on my sd card, and i last looked at them yesterday. Today I opened my File manager, and it had expired, so I dl'ed Astro. When I went into Astro and clicked on my DCIM there was nothing inside which I thought was weird. So I went to my Albums and sure enough, It cant find any photos or videos. I took a camera shot, and it saved it to the sd card and I was able to look at it. I unmounted and removed the sd card (also rebooted phone) hoping it might jump start the card or something. When I put the card back in the phone, it had erased the one picture I just took and saved. I was wondering if anyone else had this happen to them? Is a bad sd card most likely the case?

View 1 Replies View Relatedjust noticed this recently when I decided to change my wallpaper, luckily I have back ups of these pictures. but when I load an image on the SD card from my PC and then when the phone reloads the card it will delete all the data within the file. I even tried renaming the directory to see if this will resolve the issue but it doesn't the phone still continues to destroy the file. it will destroy images from zedge as well. it does preserve a few files that were loaded by scanner or by the camera. so those are the only ones still viewable. this is a rooted phone fyi not sure if it matters in this case. I discovered the problem with vanilla rom, and then swapped back to eris2.1official. phone still does it.
