Is it possible to customize one of your already custom ringtone tones that you have selected for the droid eris? what i mean is, can i select which part of the song i want to play when someone calls me? i just purchased a song off of amazon and applied it as my ringtone. you could do this with the iphone and i was wondering if you could do this with the eris as well.

Can you have a ring tone for certain people in you're address book? For example one for my husband and another for my mom? I have music on my music player app but I can't find where I add it on the contacts. Is there a way to delete some of the programs that came with the phone? Like the ones I know I will never use. I know from my home screen I can drag them to the trash but that doesn't delete them from the applications screens.

View 2 Replies View Relatedso we just got the Eris for my gf (I have a rooted droid) and she's loving the phone, but is def a BIG adjustment from the blackberry. The biggest problem that we are having is that the phone will not ring until about the 3rd or 4th ringtone, which by the 6th or so, it goes to VM anyways.... so If I call her (or anyone) I'll hear the calling tone from my end, and on the 4th one or so, finally her phone will ring, but you have about 5 seconds then it goes to voice mail... can anyone help me with this? if it matters, I do have google voice setup with gvoice as the stock vmail... I don't remember if it was doing that before this
View 18 Replies View RelatedI installed and used the Big Bang ringtone maker and now have lost the ability to have personalized ringtones for my contacts. I only used the app to make 1 ringtone from an mp3 on my phone. I've now uninstalled the app, deleted the ringtone files it created and restarted, but still don't have personalized ringtones. The contact will say it's a different ringtone, but when she calls it's always the default. I've contacted the developer but haven't heard back. how I can get this to work again?

Hey all, so I just got a Samsung Galaxy finally in the mail. It took long enough to figure out how to put music on it, then use my music for ringtones. But when I am in Settings for Notification Ringtones, I do not see the mp3 I added but only in Calling Ringtones. Why is this? I want to use the same ringtone for notifications too!.

1. I mounted my Hero to my computer.
2. I have the media folder with the files of RINGTONES, NOTIFICATIONS.
3. I have the mp3s that I want, in EACH folder.
4. Unmounted the Hero.
Now I'm lost, because I went to my settings to set a default ringtone for my phone calls, and they are not showing up. The only ones showing up are the ones that came with the phone. The same thing is happening for my notifications.I'm pretty illiterate when it comes to this kind of stuff, so if there is anyone out there with the patience to help me out step-by-step,

I've read about metamorph but I am not sure how to use it, and when I looked at it in the market it says that I need busybox also, what is that for? Also I've read about using gimp to make icons and other things and I'm interested in that. However, it only vibrates when I get a text message. Also, the sounds only happens at random times, when I have NO notifications. It really bothers me. I want my Droid to give off the notification ringtone only when I have notifications, not when I don't have them.

Well before that I had no problem putting custom alerts for email and text messages. Well now I have my own Incredible and I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it again. If you don't hear it then you are out of luck unless you just happen to look at your phone. Is there an app where I can put different tones that will continue to beep with reminders until I acknowledge it?

Thus far, I have had to Google how to's for everything I've wanted to customize: ie ringtones, changing default tones, even the colour of my sms window. I've been able to figure everything out, but am stuck on creating custom tones for emails from specific contacts. With my trusted berry, custom tones for email and sms were linked together for my contacts. So whether I received a txt, or an email from "John", I would hear the specific tone I'd set for him. With my Nexus, I've learned the same is not true. I can only customize contact sounds for sms (and of course, only with an App, I really like Ringo btw). Emails, not so much. They all come in under the one tone, regardless of who it was from.
