Oct 31, 2010Last night and met a lady with a android phone. I asked if her android market was working? and the funny thing was on her non SE phone she had no problems downloiding any thing where as on my X10 I cant download a thing from the market, why is that?
Im trying not to be negitive so please forgive me if I sound that way.
When I call SE support line they are not very helpful with anything, It feels like they dont want to help you or they dont know how to help you.
Many times I call SE support only to turn around and call my provider to figure out a problem

Motorola Droid :: Droid And Eris Purchase, Need Tech Advice
Dec 22, 2009I am about to get the Droid and the Eris through Verizon (get one free deal), the Eris is for my wife, separate line joint account. My question is we are coming from the iphone where our calenders and contacts and all were always synced up. Will I have a problem doing this with these two phones or would it be easier if they were both Droids or both Eris?

Oct 10, 2010I am having a issue with the news widget on the motorola droid x to where when i bring up the scroll window and start scrolling through articles, I see one that has a interesting looking title but it is to long to fit the whole title on the bar so i click on it and wait for the webpage to load only to find out it is not what i thought it was about... is there any way to get this widget to show titles in smaller font or can someone suggest another widget to collect rss feeds?

Jun 17, 2010I was running Beast 0.1 and about 2 days ago my News and Weather widget kept saying it couldn't connect and just gave me that Retry Now option. So this morning I upgraded to the newest BB 0.2.1, and its still doing this. I've cleared the data, removed the widget and force stopped it and cleared the data again. Anyone else having this issue? I'd simply remove it but I don't really know where to get it again since its built into roms these days (I don't TiBu it)

Mar 31, 2010I doubt anyone is as excited about this as I am but with the 2.1 update, the Moto Droid has received the Nexus One News and weather app. I have been searching for something like this for along time and there were a few out there but nothing like the one that 2.1 has just given us. I know I sound like a loon but news and weather is part of my daily morning ritual and this just made it better!

However when I view "all articles" unread or not it lists everything it has pulled down. There are currently 500+ items in the "all articles" and I cant seem to delete. how to remove items i have read already or at least if they will be truncated somehow.

Jul 4, 2010I have the OTA update and have had several issues that through this forum I've tried to correct but it just keeps getting more frustrating every day. I was on vacation and was using it as an alarm only to find that if you don't turn off and on the alarm every day, it won't work (and I had it set to S-S). I miss calls all the time, all over town, going straight to voice mail. The dialer lags all the time (except when I accidentally hit the wrong number, then it works like a champ ). My voice mail programed pin hesitates every time, not like the lighting speed it used to run on 1.5; so much so I'm not sure it will go through sometimes. My email notifications stutter or doubles for the same email. The phone gets very warm when I haven't used it for several hours and within a good cell signal area so I know it shouldn't be working to get a signal.
With all that said, I really liked the phone on 1.5 and would kill to get it back to that but I don't see that as a viable solution.I stopped into one of the local stores and told the guy I wanted my phone to work like it used to.He said I needed to take it to one of the tech support shops and be prepared to leave it for several hours for it to be checked.So here is my question (finally).I want to take it to the shop in case it is a bad handset but I need to clear the phone of sensitive information first.I get all my work emails on my phone, many of them sensitive information, along with web site access to my company's internal system. I need to make sure that all that information is cleared from the phone before I take it in.

May 22, 2010I talked with a VZW tech just a few minutes ago.I described her the silent bug problem on 2.1.She said she is a Droid user and her daughter has an Eris.She said she had frequent freezeup on her Droid and now she reccomends to do one reboot every day. She says she had not had a problem since she has been doing this.She made a mark on my file about my complain and recommended to try the once-a-day reboot for a week. If the problem persists, the store will issue a new phone.I will try this reboot thing each night, will see how it goes.I am a bit worried about the exchange they perhaps would give me a refurb, and what is the guarantie that I won't end up with the same problem.

I was receiving RR emails thru GMail on my Droid but now they are not coming thru...I do not have Weatherbug loaded..just got phone 2 days ago so only have Pandora and SportsTap loaded. Here is what I have done so far. I set up my GMail to use my RR email as well. I went to GMail Settings. I added RR as my POP3 email account..."POP Server" set to pop.roadrunner.com and Port set to 110. In the "Accounts and Imports"..."Send mail as" the RR is set to Default. Do I need to change any of the settings in the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" section of GMail Settings?

Sep 1, 2010When i first fired up the wildfire it had the news widget on the homescreen ready to go on BBC news. I liked the fact it automatically refreshed the news every so often. Now it has stopped working via the widget. I have tried removing and reinstalling the news widget but the widget just hangs on the message 'loading news'. I can still refresh the news headlines by going into the app but it seems an unnecessary hassle when it used to do this automatically. Why and how to fix this? The phone settings all lok okay.

FINALLY! i thought it was going to be updated and ready to go. but just before i logged in i thought, "did they forget about section" lol. but regardless glad to see its still being worked on and hopefully it will be up soon.
