A few of the times that I have played a video using Video Player, I get a lock icon in the top righthand corner. At that point, the buttons do not work. Touching the screen does nothing. I have no idea how to unlock. Each time I've run into this (3 times now), I had to shut down the phone. I must be slow...anyone know how to unlock the video player?
View 6 Replies View RelatedNoticed today that when the phone is unlocked with the power/unlock button, that the screen starts off at a significantly lower brightness, but the light sensor seems to then kick in and the correct brightness is then displayed after. This happens for only a fraction of a second, but is quite jerky and immediate.Is this normal, or should the screen brightness remain one constant level from unlock? Of course, changing when it should based on lighting conditions.The same also happens when the screen is about to sleep. Once the lock button is pushed, the screen brightness almost notches down in 2 steps. First at half the brightness, or so, and then off completely. Again, not necessarily smooth, but quite jarring.Again, is this normal of other Captivates?
View 4 Replies View Relatedmy brand new samsung fascinate just went white. I went to push the button on the side to unlock it, and just lit up white. I went to do a hard reset and it did not solve the problem. When i restart phone, i can hear the phone start up music, and the soft buttons on the front work, but all i see is bright white. I had someone call me, and my phone rang, yet all i saw was a bright screen. When it goes idol to black, it wont turn back on at all.

View 8 Replies View RelatedAnyone have this problem where when they are on a call the screen locks and you can't hang up the call until you unlock the screen or the other end hangs up? Is there a setting to not lock the screen when on a call. This is driving me nuts to always have to unlock the screen just to get to hangup the phone. From what I can tell I think it happens only when I make the call. But if a call comes in when the screen is locked it allows me to hang up after the call. I check most of the settings and i don't see any options for that...

I would like to remove the text "Verizon Wireless" from my pattern lock screen and replace it with my name.
When I rooted my HTC Eris and loaded KoasFroyo I encountered a similar situation where that ROM made it say Team AndIRC. I was able to do what I wanted by replacing eri.xml.
When I try to use ADB to push that same eri.xml file to my Fascinate I get an access denied error. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Any guidance would be appreciated. Since the phone is locked I want my name available on the front in case it is ever lost.
Does anyone know if its possible to have on screen buttons on the Desire for Home, Menu and Back as I'm (perhaps unnecessarily) worried about wearing the buttons out so would rather be using virtual buttons on screen (even if that means losing a little of the display area).
View 12 Replies View RelatedI am trying to push up the views in my activity whenever a soft keyboard comes up. I have been partially successful in this, except that certain views remain hidden behind the soft keyboard.
My XML looks like the below. I am specifying the last RelativeLayout RL3 containing buttons with the attribute: android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" so that they stay above the soft keyboard when it comes up. However. the scrollview SV1 which is above the last RelativeLayout RL3 is not scrolling up completely and so a part of the scroll view remains hidden behind the soft keyboard. I have tried to set paddingBottom=70px but that still does not make the scroll view go up.

If my screen locks while I have a wifi connection, then the connection is lost when I unlock the phone.First, is this perhaps deliberate, to save power? Also, either way, when I unlock the screen and go into wifi settings, I see that the phone is trying to make a wifi connection, but it never succeeds, even though it's my home network and I'm in the same room as the router. It just states 'Obtaining address.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have added a couple of soft keys through navigation_bar.xml in SystemUI.apk. The soft keys show great, but are also showing on the lockscreen, when the others "disappear".
The added ones are Menu and Search, the order is Home, Menu, Recent Apps, Back, Search. This is to be the same as my desire hard keys. I know, no point in it, but have just got used to the soft keys so much!
Anyway, here is my coding, I have removed the android:visibilty="invisble" attribute to no ill effects...I have also added the relevant strings and ids in their respective places..

Wasn't quite sure where to post this, but is there a way to have the lock screen unlocked without having to hit "ok"after entering the correct pin?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to unlock my phone so I can turn off the stream I am listening to in the app StreamFurious Pro but I can not. When I tap the red button right of the track ball, the lock screen comes up, but then when I swipe down it only slides part of the way and then starts to shimmy or bounce up and down. I can see the browser window I last had open below it, but I cant get to anything because the lock won't slide all the way down. Even when that grey bar does get all the way gone, it bounces back a second later.
The menu button does not respond. If I hit the red button again to send it to sleep, it does. Letting it sit does not help. When I hit the red button again, it either shows the grey bar you grab still bouncing, or the lock screen again, but the same thing then happens. I have had streamFurious Pro for awhile and never had this issue. I have not added any new apps since yesterday AM and used my phone just fine between then and now.
We are writing an app to substitute screen/pattern lock on G1. Unfortunately, it is impossible to substitute the original screen lock app with a 3rd party one. The only option left is if we can UNLOCK the phone from a service running in the background when G1 is locked. Is it possible? Is there interface to Pattern/Screen lock? What is KeyguardManager for?

View 3 Replies View RelatedOn my blackberry and all previous phones, I was able to customize a text banner, and I'm not finding a way to do it on my Motorola Droid. I usually put my email address on the lock/unlock screen so that if some honest person was to find my phone, they could email me to let me know they found it. Otherwise, it would just be lost. I know that there are theme apps that I can install, and I'm not sure if they have that capability, but if anything, I'd prefer not to have to download any apps to do this. I've also thought about creating a wallpaper that has that information in it, and setting that as my wallpaper. It seems like too much work.

I just only use Donut(SDK 1.6).

I want exactly the same actions of iOS lock screen notifications, i.e. when I receive an e-mail I'd like to see it on the screen and if I touch/slide it, I'd like it to be unlocked into the Gmail app or if it's a Whatsapp message, I'd like to see the Whatsapp message screen instead of the home and afterwards launching Whatsapp and going into the selected message.
