I am currently unable to browse the internet on any browser on my phone, other apps that access the internet work fine. I've removed a few apps that I updated this morning, such as juice defender, the rest were just games from what I can see. Is there a way to see when apps were last updated, obviously last resort is a full wipe but don't really want to do that if I can get away with it.

Issue: Internet works, but wont browse
I am having a slight issue with my new lovely HTC desire. I love this phone, but there are a few annoyances that I'd love to iron out.
Mainly, browsing the Internet. All of my apps work fine, all of my widgets update correctly, Facebook works, the market place is open for business: everything appears fine. However, occasionally, when I open the browser (Google is my homepage) and after I have typed what I would like to search, I am unable to press 'enter'. The enter button on the keyboard does nothing. When pressing the little magnifying glass in the browser: nothing.
I have found a workaround by copying my text and pasting it into the search on the HTC Desire itself (with the bottom right hand button on the phone itself) and this searches the Internet no questions asked.
Am I the only one experiencing this problem? It usually happens when I try to show off to my friends that, like the Lawnmower Man, I have immediate access to the Internet to answer their questions. But I embarrassingly get stuck waiting for it to work, having to cut, paste... I am losing kudos here....
Just had my deire back from repair ( nightmare ) and i' unable to connect to the internet or get updates. It works ok with wifi, but i'm not always in a wifi area. I have gone into Settings - Wireless & Networks - Mobile network ticked box to connect to internet an all I get is " connection failed due to incorrect APN setting ".
View 2 Replies View RelatedHaving been optimistic that I would finally be able to use all the fancy bits of the internet with my Desire, I find myself somewhat nobbled. I am particularly interested in using the BBC site - but I can't access any audio, video or iplayer from my phone. Beebplayer worked once, literally, but can now only access radio stations. I have done some reading and understand that:the BBC haven't yet released a proper Android app. the Flash lite that comes with 2.1 may not work with everything, some people have found incompatibility issues with T-mobile. I appreciate that BBC is not the only fruit, but for a user of a multi-media phone, I find it crazy that I can't use their site properly. I don't appear to be able to access any live TV or news streaming elsewhere either. My phone is not a fashion accessory - I bought it because I wanted a phone and reliable and quick access to news (in different forms), without the premium of an iPhone. It's so frustrating, I feel like I've bought the wrong phone, even though I know it's not really the handset itself that's the problem! After all, it is marketed as having Flash and being more than able to cope with multi media on the internet. but apparently not for everyone. Whilst waiting for Android 2.2, the BBC, T-mobile... or whatever else needs updating. what can I do?
View 5 Replies View RelatedOn both 2.1 & 2.2 I have found that occasionally the browser progress bar will only get 90% before becoming getting stuck. You can try as many times as you like to view the page but it will always get stuck.The only way I have found to cure this is to force stop the internet app, then everything is fine again. Anyone else seen this or know how to stop it occurring?

On my Hero i had different sounds set up for my text messages and my e-mails. For some reason i just can't figure out how to do it on Desire and i really hope that you can have seperate sounds. Any help would be really appreciated. <THE MAIN ISSUE>
The second thing is that to save pictures off the internet i know that you longpress and get the options. However with google images not for some reason you can't do that
The alternatives i've found are to either do the usual longpress options on either the small thumbnail in google search, but that gives a rubbish little pic =/
OR
open the image and then follow link to original page it is from, then save from there.
But both of these are a bit of a faff. So although its not a big issue i'd like to know if there is a way to save from the individual pictures if you know what i mean.
Just another thing i've thought of... because i have an orange branded Desire my music player has a rubbish link to orange music world or something by the play, and skip track buttons...
any way to get rid?
My phone will not allow me to search the internet while I'm on a call. Isn't this something the Eris should do?

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe H symbol is displayed at the top of the screen and the arrows occasionally flash. The 'up arrow' flashes more often than the 'down arrow'. I have at least 2-4 bars reception.
However when I try to browse there is a 'data connectivity problem' and websites will not load. None of my apps, gmail, facebook etc will sync.
I am on t-mobile.
Fixes I have tried:
- turn on/off
- APN settings check
- Airplane mode
Have spent hours looking at other 3g threads, but have not found an identical problem. My phone says im connected to 3g ('H'), but will not update email or let me access websites on the browser.
Does anyone else have an issue doing this? I received an error stating "got an error stating this application requires network access. Enable mobile network or wi-fi to download data." My mobile network was on at the time as I was on a call. Any settings I should be looking at? I tried both the stock browser and skyfire & had the issue with both.
View 18 Replies View RelatedOn both the emulator and my actual phone (tattoo) I seem unable to browse the SD card - when I run ddms and use the File Explorer, I can browse /data or /system fine, but /sdcard refuses to open, and its permissions appear to be "d---------" (which of course might be the problem).
Similarly when I use ddms's "Put file on device" it fails:
29:43 E/ddms: transfer error: Permission denied Failed to push about.html on SH9CELG00306: Permission denied
The above is for my actual phone but I get a similar error on the emulator (which does have an /sdcard).
i bought a new xperia x10 mobile it was running good, but sudddenly am unlable to browse while connected to wifi n cont even download apps from the maket ...i can do all this when am connected to 3g.

It used to lock to T-m*bile, I unlocked it lastweek then use L*bara instead cause got free internet service hehe. somehow, everytime i try to use internet service it says unable to connect to internet/ network unavailable. but I tried the simcard with another phone and it was working. some friends suggest me to re-unlock it. but i donno how to re-unlock it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedCan you tell me (viz. those of you with a working hotspot!), can you still use your browser when the hotspot is active. Just turning the hotspot on on my desire cuts the (mobile data) internet connection with the browser, and anything else!
In fact even after turning off the hotspot I have to toggle mobile data on/off & toggle APN's to get mob. data back.
Also which Orange APN's/usernames/passwords do you have success with & which not?
I have tried all the posted solutions & even HTC technical!
Any bright ideas anyone?

Does anyone know who to browse the folders of the SD card from the phone itself? I've downloaded an application on my pc in .apk format, moved it over to the SD card and now I'm trying to install the application from the SD card but am unable to search for it on the phone.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got my HTC Desire today, and have been learning how it works etc, but I just tried to do a google search, use youtube and sign into facebook using the facebook app and widget, and nothing will work. I can use FriendStream fine.. I updated my facebook status with it and it's showing updates as they happen. I'm using my home wifi and the phone says it's connected with signal strength 'good'. Can anyone explain what the problem might be? I haven't tried 3g yet, if that matters at all. (not entirely sure how I'd switch to it for testing purposes other than going outside out of wifi range)
View 10 Replies View RelatedThe last couple of days I've noticed I can't browse or update apps like Android Facebook, Android Twitter and Google Mail and can't browse the Market when I'm connected to the mobile network on 3. This happens even when the notification tray has the H or G symbol and up- and downstream icons are animating. I've checked through the Mobile Network settings and can't see that I've changed anything by accident. The strange thing is the Friend Stream updates when I'm connected to the mobile network.
Does anybody know what I might be missing?
Right basically you can find the UK T mobile internet settings on the T mobile website. On the Speed Test app, the highest speeds I get are 1.8m/bs downloads and around 500kpbs upload. However, those were at off peak times at night etc (probably when nobody is using the net).Generally I get anything from 0.3 m/bs to 0.9 m/bs though. Lately I've been experiencing some inconsistent internet speeds and reconnection attempts so for I've gone back to the default settings. Tbh though I'm not sure if it makes much difference.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been trying several browsers and only Miren browser had the feature I need. I mean then I loaded pages stays loaded until I close the tabs/browser manualy.
All the other browsers keeps reloading pages then I don't need them to reload. For example - open some website, go to other app, then turn off mobile network and wifi, then go back to internet browser and it's only blank page (or an error page).
Recently I have flashed ICS ROM and now Miren browser FC sometimes.. I guess it's because of Miren browser is no longer supported and some ICS incompatabilities or ROM problems..
So any other browser which doesn't reload pages when apps being switched back and forth? Or way to keep all browser loaded tabs (in cache(?)) so it don't need to reload so much?
What if you need to install an apk from sdcard but you don't have a file manager installed yet.And to make things worse you don't have internet access to download it from the market!Here's what you need to do:
1. Put the apk file in the main directory of your sdcard. Rename it to something very short for easy typing. In this example, I will use "fm.apk".
2. Boot your device. Goto Security Settings and check "Unknown Sources".
3. Open your internet browser. In the address bar type "file:///sdcard/<filename>.apk". (Without the double quotes of course).In our example above it should look like this: file:///sdcard/fm.apk
4. Press "Go". That's it! Installation started!
