Directly in the center of my screen there is a little white fleck, it looks like the tiniest peice of paper, about half a mm in size. At first i thought it was a dead pixel but when i locked the phone it is still there which suggests that it is dust/paper/other. I do not know how it got in there so i do not know how i can get it out, it doesn't move at all so it won't simply fall out any time soon.

I was on the modaco rom but decided to try a different rom from xda. I used ROM manager but the screen was stuck on the HTC screen so i decided to cancel it. I did the follwing but its still stuck on the HTC screen. Turn off, hold vol down and press power. Boot into HBOOT. Use vol up and down to move through the menu and power to select. From here, Select recovery. At the screen with the desire and red triangle, press vol up and power. Select Wipe data/factory reset.

I tried to install the r8-bravo-desire-modacocustomrom-withadditions-a2sd+-signed...! This rom got stuck on the white start up screen. I thought that if i cleared the sd card it would install but still the same thing then i just got the white htc screen wich i cant get off and i cant load the recovery to change anything...! Have i bricked my phone?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had an issue flashing the newest version of the leedroid ROM. To start my phone was running stock un-rooted Android 2.1. This is what I've done
1) Rooted the device using the Unrevoked method. Everything with this went fine. I get the Superuser app and I can get the '#' prompt at a terminal.
2) Then I partitioned my SD card using Rom Manager in preparation for A2SD+
3) Then I booted into clockwork mod recovery and wiped data/factory reset, wiped cache, and wiped dalvik cache
4) Then I tried to flash the leedroid rom from zip on the sd card
After reboot my phone appears to be stuck on the HTC screen and will not move forward. But if I take out the battery I can boot back into recovery mode. So it appears my phone is not broken, but it clearly isn't working. I've tried flashing a number of different ROMs but get the same result each time.
So I rooted my desire using the r6 guide from MoDaCo. Worked well, no problems. Recovered my personal data and apps, set my alarm went to sleep. Alarm goes off, get out of bed and all still fine. Then, I decided to apply apps2SD picking up at the end of Lekky's guide. Followed it word for word but once complete, it wont boot past the HTC boot screen (the white screen with logo).
I am going to try and reapply the rooted ROM (if I can get my blackberry to turn on to write to the goldcard). But, does anyone have any idea what could have gone wrong? I really want apps2SD, but this could all go pear-shaped again. Are there any other tried and tested methods to get apps2sd on a stock superuser ROM?

Have just got my HTC Desire. I switched the phone on for the first time and it's stuck on a screen with a green icon on. The icon is a down arrow with two arrows going around in a circle. What am I supposed to do here? I've pressed on the screen and held for a few seconds, pressed and held each of the buttons and no response. Not even the power button works.

Droid Den - Phone Guide: How To Install Rooted Android 2.2 On Your HTC Desire - Droid Den. It went through applying the ROM but now I just have it stuck on the o2 splash screen and going no further. Can't seem to find a backup.zip anywhere on my ROM and thought to back out the change. What's the best way to go? Re-flash again?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt seems after only a fortnight or so from getting my new Desire (unlocked and unrooted) I've already run into a problem I can't seem to fix. I was running a game (I believe it was Asphalt HD) while on the charger when my screen went completely black and I found myself at the boot screen. It finished booting but then got stuck on a frozen "loading" screen. I restarted it and it worked fine, I assumed it was the app and tried another one. About ten minutes in I got another black screen and the phone started booting again. Only this time it would do the animated logo, then crash and try to reboot again, over and over until I pulled the battery. Only now it wont boot at all, it will simply sit on the initial HTC boot screen indefinitely. It won't turn off the screen or anything, just sit there in a frozen state.
So far I've tried removing the SD and even SIM cards, leaving it off to charge the battery, doing a factory reset from the boot screen, etc. But every single time, whether I turn it on normally or use the bootloader, all I get is the single "switched on" vibration and the HTC screen, and it just freezes there. I already spent quite a while waiting for this phone to arrive, I REALLY don't want to send it back to the store because it was bought through an importer and I'm worried it will take a very long time for any repairs/replacements. I will if I'm forced to but I would much rather find more methods I could try.
I just flashed Myns Two point Two. I used to Amon RA to wipe the things I needed to wipe and then installed the rom. Little to say that when I booted, it got stuck on the boot screen.I've done a hard reset, booted to the loader, and wipe the data but to no avail.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen at work I dont seem to get very good signal (Even though orange coverage map shows excellent signal in Central Chelmsford).The 3G symbol appears in the notification bar but only the up arrow will flash (As though it thinks there is a 3G signal, but it is not receiving any data, just transmitting it)If I turn the phone onto GSM only - Then it will connect with the G symbol showing - And I am able to use the mobile data connection fine, all be it at the slow speed.When I have the "GSM/WCDMA auto" setting on, should the phone not recognise that it is not getting a good 3G signal (By the lack of data coming in) and automatically switch to the g? The HTC support people didn't seem to think so! So I though I would ask on here as it is a pain having to change to gsm only every day so that I can use my phone at my work.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI rooted my Inc with the Evo tool, and installed a ROM through ROM manager, after deciding that I did not want to keep the ROM, I tried to restore back to the stock rooted ROM I had before through the clockworkmod/nandroid options. Now the phone is stuck at the white screen that reads, "htc incredible" and none of the buttons will cause anything to happen. I was debating on doing a battery pull and restarting, but I believe I read somewhere that doing so would brick the phone.
Update: Did a battery pull and was able to boot into the HBOOT and run the nandroid recovery again, I am trying it now to see if I can get back to the original ROM.

After rerestoring the phone, the boot animation runs all the way through and the phone starts back up.
Flashed a Fresh ROM, did a wipe cache and dalvik before flashing but now I'm stuck in the white htc evo 4g screen. Tried to reflash didn't work. I've pulled out the battery and powered on while holding volume down. This is what the screen reads:

I can boot into ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.1 but my backup and nandroid files can't be located. Sometimes I get the Android with the exclamation point, sometimes not. PCIMG36.zip image can't be found either. I think my phone is screwed! I've searched through the forums and googled and tried out a many things but to no avail. Also, does doing all this through a Mac make a difference?
Been creating a theme last few days. I installed it on my phone, but before doing so i was a good boy and did a nandroid backup. Then i didnt like osme of the things i changed so i restored my backup i just did now its stuck after restoring on the white htc evo screen. NOT GOOD!! I even pulled the battery and SD Card...twice.
View 4 Replies View Relatedso im on my second eris root. all is well thus far, accept now i am trying to boot from recovery to put vanilladroid on it, and i cant get into recovery mode. i didnt have this problem with the last phone i did this to, and i dont know what im doing wrong at this point. i have reloaded amon's recovery image, and done all of that process over again. nothing works, when i boot power/volume up, all i get is the skateboard guys, then the exclamation point inside a triangle, with a phone laying down. "button mashing" on the end and send buttons then leads the phone to reboot back to normal mode. i even tried to reboot recovery from adb, and still got this end result. i am out of ideas (as im no programmer...)also, i have tried to get on irc, but keep getting booted, even when switching sn's.so ive given up on that as well
View 5 Replies View RelatedLast night, played a couple of rounds on Wordfeud and I'm assuming the battery went dead. Now I'm stuck on HTC screen when I boot up. Won't even show CM6 loadup screen. I charged it for a couple minutes and even booted into recovery with no luck. Battery pull doesn't do it either. Have I bricked my phone? I'm not quite understanding why it's not loading up anything. BTW: During the recovery screen, it said I had the RA image there so I doubt it's not on my card to boot up as I know that if you don't have this then it won't boot up.

I had cyan 5.0.4. - I wiped and flashed to 5.0.5 and now i cannot get past the boot.
I've tried booting back into recovery and wiping and doing a nandroid recovery to 'amon's recovery 1.7.0' but to no avail.

Not booting & stuck on Reliance welcome screen. I have not installed any apps in recent time neither did any sorts of tweaking.
I was on 4.2.1 rooted, I found on the notification center that 4.3 is downloaded and ready to install.
after clicking it, I got an error and it restarted and never passed the x screen.I tried hard reset wipe all data. no luck.
I tried N-Cry, nexus 7 toolkit.but nothing worked for me.
My live map wallpaper is stuck on a place I've never visited, but did look up on Google maps.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter updating to 2.2 on tmobile when it eventually came to us how ever many weeks ago, all seemed fine untill the phone rebooted and turned back on in airplane mode - try as I did, I couldnt turn it off, none off the different ways to do it seemed to work (home screen widget, long hold on on/off button, settings-wireless and networks-airplane mode off)- I eventually, having called t-mobile who where almost as helpfull as a bag of jelly had to factory reset which did seem to sort it out.The reason I am writting now is because after reading the threads about how often people turn their phones off, I did just this. Low and behold the ruddy airplance mode was on when phone turned back on and same again, couldnt turn it off. I turned the phone on and off for about 10 times and eventually it seemed to work although I couldnt tell you why in that particular instance. Now this isnt a major issue as I do actually keep the phone turned on for the most, but I am obviously tyring to foresee possible future problems..ie battery running out, having to reboot because or a dodgy app etc Id like to know if anyone has any ideas of why this happens and anything I can do to avoid this in future. I did read an old thread on here about airplane mode sticking because of sim card age but not sure why this would make a difference, it was fine with 2.1 and only started happening after the froyo update.
View 18 Replies View RelatedI am soon going to be going for a contract phone in the UK. The main reasons are for the internet, apps and GPS. Right now I am considering either Android or iPhone. Right now I am considering the iPhone mostly because of it's popularity and I own an iPod Touch so I am familar with iOS. I would if I got this iPhone immediately jailbreak it regardless of warranty. However, I am also considering getting an Android phone because I know that it offers similar capabilities and can cost allot less while offer more. I also hate the feel of Android 4 while the HTC Desire for example felt allot more comfortable.

1. Can I sync Android phones with iTunes? I have all my music on there so it makes things allot easier.
2. How good is the web browser? The demo unit had no internet access so I couldn't test it out

OK update failed, i have tried posting in other threads but the pace is to quick with other stuff.
i had a flashed stock phone, as took my branding off, i have since been told that you need to keep the gold card in when doing updates.
i have also tried resetting but no joy. im told i need to re flash the orginal 2.1 stock and then re do the update with the gcard in. only trouble is my phone keeps resetting on its own and i can't seem to enable hd mode on the sd card which i need
i have a HTC Desire 601 with Virgin Mobile (in canada) and i tried to flash a custom rom, and it didnt work, i got an error 7, i tried several rom and all i got is a error 7.now i want to go back to a stock rom , but every time i think i have a good stock rom, i get an error 7.

i flashed PhilZ Recovery (philz_touch_6.19.3-zara.zip is the exact filename), but i think i've done something wrong because everytime i try to flash anything, i get an error 7, even doing a nandroid backup gave me an error..
so, what should i do to get the phone to a working state?
