I compiled it and I have the zImage.img. Using Finless ROM Flash Tool I flashed Finless 2.1 ROM, and works great. Then I flashed the same ROM but instead of the kernel that comes with that ROM I put my zImage there. As result my pen is not booting, and it's stuck in a black screen with two penguins..

I tried to put it in system/media and data/local and change boot animation and Samsung in system/bin and reboot but nothing happens.

Jun 9, 2010I 'had' a desire - for a whole 3 days. Then it stopped booting ( white 'HTC' screen ) or boot looped when in 'safe mode'. Spoke to HTC, tried factory reset - they told me to take it back to the shop. I got a refund - the iphone was announced the same day and now I'm in two minds! So, was I just unlucky or is the desire not very reliable? The iphone's I've used seem to be much more solidly made. For the short period I had it I was a little concerned by the inability to back up the apps & stuff externally. I just sort of assumed that I would be using my PC to get apps and stuff and then transfer to the desire - just like itunes. Now, I know itunes is not too popular here (!) but the fact that all my purchases are held on my pc too makes me more comfortable. So
1) Is there any way that the desire can store all it's stuff in a similar way?
2) Now my phone's ( & mem card ) gone have I lost the apps I bought?
3) Can I only by Apps from market via the phone itself?
Sorry for the questions, but I'm not sure whether I want another desire now. I really like the interface but I'm not sure that the overall package is 'friendly' enough. The iphone just looks more polished.
General :: Nexus 7 Stuck At X Screen?
Aug 3, 2013I was on 4.2.1 rooted, I found on the notification center that 4.3 is downloaded and ready to install.
after clicking it, I got an error and it restarted and never passed the x screen.I tried hard reset wipe all data. no luck.
I tried N-Cry, nexus 7 toolkit.but nothing worked for me.
HTC EVO 4G :: Phone Not Booting / Keeps Restarting Itself At Logo Screen
Oct 7, 2010 had my evo on charge and went to sleep with remote pc running, when I woke up it was really hot and kept restarting at the 4G animation. I mean, it was seriously on repeat, says 4g, then starts over again, then sprint 4g and restart. I can't get it to boot. I've tried booting with the usb connected, sd card in and out, everything. Nothing works. I even went to the recovery like I was doing an update to get it to at least reflash the firmware or something and it fails. Keep in mind, I updated a couple weeks ago with the newest EVO software manually (the one without the fps cap), so the file should still be on the SD card exactly how it was when I updated the software last.
This is what it gives me:

After flashing successfully (through cwm recovery), i reboot my phone and then it stuck at boot screen.I did many searches but cannot understand any.I can go into recovery and download mode which is i think so required by odin.I wonder if I can flash any stock rom again easily. Oct 23, 2013I restarted my phone because it was freezing and it turned on on the boot screen where it gives me options to Recover, Reboot, etc. The volume button broke a long time ago. It sometimes works to move the option but pushing the power button doesn't do anything. Is there anything I can do to restart my phone avoiding this screen? It goes there every time. Steps which i followed to install 4.3 manually is:
1. fastboot erase boot
2. fastboot erase cache
3. fastboot erase recovery
4. fastboot erase system
5. fastboot erase userdata
6. fastboot flash bootloader <bootloader_filename_.img>
7. fastboot reboot bootloader
8. fastboot flash radio <radio_filename_.img>
9. fastboot reboot bootloader
10. fastboot -w update <Rom_filename_.img>
Step 1-9 executed successfully but at step 10 while writing system.img installation got stuck and i waited for 40 mins but nothing happened
Repeated above step 3 times. Need to recovery my nexus 4 to its normal state

Tried installing custom ROMs. It installs but when I reboot from recovery, it gets stuck on home screen (white background with HTC). Tried Virtuous Inquisition and MIUI bit same problem.P.S. I am a rookie and read that it could be due to S-On even if rooted.

Oct 4, 2013My device is rooted, i was installing an app that tweaks performance which needed drivers to be downloaded / installed. As soon as i clicked that driver download / install button the device immediatly shut down. Now i'm stuck on its boot logo (Its a Chinese tablet powered by a RK3066 Chip / android 4.1.1) I tried (Holding power + volume down) = Dead android logo with red exc. mark on top / (Holding power + volume up) = Nothing / (Holding power + both volume up and down) = Dead android logo with red exc. mark on top / (Leaving dead android logo for a couple of minutes) = resets and logo is still stuck.
I have no custom anything . I did not do anything with the root except download apps.
I also do not have linux.
When the tablet is plugged into the PC when the dead android is displaying , it detects, but that is it, i cannot browse it what so ever.
All recovery methods in the tablet are (dead android logo)

Mar 28, 2014I haven't had any screen issues in the past, but today my tablet randomly decided to go totally black on me. I looked online and some posts mentioned to check if the screen was actually off, or just stuck at 0% brightness. So I got a flashlight and it turned out that I could see the screen in the light of the flashlight, very faintly. I tried to manually change the brightness setting, but that didn't do anything. I tried to go into 'power saver settings', but the 'screen brightness' power saver setting is stuck on and won't uncheck. Restarting doesn't fix it. Plugging it in to the computer or an outlet doesn't fix it.
I haven't downloaded any applications that override the screen brightness.
I'm using the Galaxy Note 10.1 (not the 2014 version).

May 14, 2014My phone got a fair bit of water in it and after drying out, it powers up to the HBOOT screen but vol up/down do not work nor does any other button. Curiously enough the phone seems to recognize if I insert the usb plug but my computer says failed to recognize device/load drivers.

Jan 21, 2014Recently I have rooted my android tablet and I was exploring what I could do. One guy was telling me about an app that can work with performance in game(ChainFire 3D). He said it lowers the pixels in the game to run better. I tapped the install button and it said rebooting now. It then started to reboot but then proceeded to get stuck at the boot screen. I tried doing a hard reset but it is still stuck. I have also tried flashing the stock rom, but I get installation aborted when I try and install it.

May 31, 2012I just installed the Android Revolution ROM for my phone, and I am now unable to get past the boot screen. I've been sitting here waiting for it to boot for 1/2 hour, before I took the battery out and tried booting again. Waited 1/2 hour again. Still no progress.
I had just made my phone S-OFF with SuperCID, and had flashed a new radio.img to my phone as recommended in the thread. After doing that, I went and used SuperWipe, and then I installed Android Revolution. Installation encountered no errors, so i was surprised when I was unable to boot.
I can still access 4ext recovery luckily.
EDIT: Wanted to point out that I was able to boot into my old rom after S-OFF, SuperCID and radio.img, but not after installing revolution rom.
