I was just sending a text and all of a sudden i had the black screen of death and then the phone seemed to reboot itself with an image of a red triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle of it
I proceeded to try and turn the phone off but it gave me lots of options with a white screen, i couldn't get it to do anything so i took the battery out and then it started normally.
I got HTC flyer 3G from my friend as gift....that one was rooted and s-off .when i tried to flash custom rom it showed option like recovery,wipe/factory reset,.
After 2 days,I have installed AVAST Anti theft app and forgot the password for it...so i gave it to reinstall the OS...and it was back to normal...So I thought to put custom rom..and started to boot the device with SD card inside....BUT the recovery didnt show any options as it was shown earlier,the black screen appears with triangle mark with '!' symbol....

Gets half way through loading then triangle has exclamation mark with triangle and does not advance. I am rooted.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI don't have a rooted phone. I've been running the IK5 firmware for a while with no problems. I had to travel to the states and put my phone on airplane mode and then decided to shut it off. When I tried to turn it on, it would get to the Samsung "glowing" logo and stay there for awhile. Then the screen would flash and the Samsung logo would appear again. My phone was stuck in a loop after that. It never booted up. I decided to try and reload the firmware and that didn't help. Then I tried recovery mode. That's when I got the infamous triangle with and exclamation point in it. After that nothing. I guess I may have somehow bricked an unrooted phone. Although this isn't my specialty.

View 8 Replies View Related! i was trying to install a new custom ROM ( C.A.M.P ) i had Cyanogenmod 10... i came to where i flash the new rom on my computer then when i wanted to fastboot reboot to install zip on phone, my computer shuts off, now when i turn my phone on it lights up black and stays like this and i cant do anything(no CWM no nothing) so i remove battery to turn off....

So I was trying out the CM7 for xperia arc by the freexperia team. It was epic. so i also tried the CM9 release by them..
-> I downloaded the CM9 anzu for my arc S
-> Extracted the files
-> Used fastboot to flash boot.img
-> And then: fastboot reboot
Instead of the FreeXperia splash screen welcoming me.. i was given a black screen.. The phone does turn on.. but then there is nothing. No splash screens. nothing.
Is there anyway to boot straight into CWM?? recovery?? Did i brick my phone for good?
I recently tried flashing Demagless 2.0.8 and now my phone is stuck on the HTC Black logo screen while the phone is starting up I have done a clean wipe and reflashed demageless 2.0.7.2 and also fresh 2d but now I get the same problem previously I've had fresh 2d installed and worked perfectly fine. I can still access my root but no matter what rom I flash it won't start up.

I compiled it and I have the zImage.img. Using Finless ROM Flash Tool I flashed Finless 2.1 ROM, and works great. Then I flashed the same ROM but instead of the kernel that comes with that ROM I put my zImage there. As result my pen is not booting, and it's stuck in a black screen with two penguins..

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to follow the tutorial to take my Nexus 7 (2013) from it's just unboxed state to dual booting Android and Ubuntu Touch. I succeeded in unlocking the tablet. I am using Ubuntu 13.10 on my laptop and installed the whole Android SDK and everything (even though I already had Eclipse installed for learning Java). I've reached two sticking points.
First, the part where I'm told to copy the three files (the MultiROM zip, the kernel zip, and recovery image) to the root directory of the tablet: it's not clear how to do that. The files wouldn't copy except to the internal storage folder. Or is that the root directory?
Second, I am unable to boot to recovery.

command only brings up the android on his back with the red triangle containing an exclamation mark. That screen lasts a minute or so and then the device reboots normally on its own. I have tried several power and volume button combinations to get a different result at this point, but to no avail.
Yesterday I received a Samsung Galaxy Note from China Mobile, model GT-I9228. It didn't have google play and so I looked online on how to get it. Apparently I had to root my phone. However, when I rooted it using this method: rootgalaxynote(dot)com/galaxy-note-root/how-to-root-galaxy-note-gt-n7000-method-2odinheimdall/ (it said gt-n7000 on the box so I thought it was compatible) now it's stuck at the loadup screen with the yellow triangle. I tried to restore it to a stock gb rom, but it keeps failing. (The phone can go into download mode, I just don't know what to do from there)

View 7 Replies View RelatedAfter buying a HTC Desire in August, I've been very happy with it. The best phone I have ever owned. And after rooting it and installing LeeDroid's 1.9a ROM, I've been enjoying the tweaks and a2sd+. Anyway, I have a Telus Desire which I unlocked and am using with Fido. I followed this guide to root and this to install the LeeDroid ROM.
Ever since then, however, I have not been flash any new ROMs. When I flash a new ROM using ROM Manager, it goes to the white screen with the HTC in green then the screen/phone just shuts off becoming unresponsive until I take the battery out then in again. When I open ROM Manager, it gives me a pop-up that says "Recovery Failure" with three lines which say:
- Recovery mode is "broken".
- ROM Manager doesn't reboot.
- Other.
I tried to reload the clockwork recovery using ROM Manager and Unrevoked. Didn't seem to fix the issue. There is an official OTA update that I couldn't install due to the same issue. If you have any input as to how I should fix this issue
Several times now my Desire's screen has just stayed black when pressing the power key to unlock it. It's like it's in a deep sleep with no way to wake it. If you call it the screen will not light up but the phone will either ring with no way of answering it or just flash the missed call light. The call can still be silenced or rejected with the buttons.
So my question is this a hardware or software issue? I'm inclined to think software because pulling the battery then rebooting solves it, until it happens again, sometimes the same day others a few days later. I always switch the phone off at night to give it a fresh start each day. I do not use any task killers or obscure apps. Phone has minimal virgin mobile UK branding on it, and running firmware 1.15.405.4 with no option to update to the newly released version.
I have a problem with the new HTC Desire HD.
When I make a call the screen goes blank, but I cannot get it back again, even if I press the button on the top of the phone. None of the other touch button function either meaning the only way to finish a call is to pull the battery out!
Last night i was on the Ebay app on my desire i finished looking at some items i sold then i sat it down to let it charge. a few minutes later i got a text or email so i push the power button on top and this is what i saw.. Sorry for the quality. I have no idea what has caused this. I left the battery out over night and it still does it. I can still hear notifications and what not just cant see anything. The phone is less than a month old. I have never dropped it or anything. Its flawless, not a scratch on it. It seems like every time i get a new phone something odd like this happens to it. I also have been hearing alot of android phones have been causing ppl problems. I believe i can get it fixed through warranty. Has anyone have a clue what caused this? is it a hardware or software issue?

I tried to install one of the modaco ROMS and did not realize that it was incompatible with my phone because my Desire has a newer type of screen (not amoled) but SLCD. This caused the phone screen to go black on start up and be unresponsive. It was frightening because at first the HTC bootscreen (green HTC on white) had black streaks through it , then goes black. But don't worry it is easily redeemed in below instructions. You need the latest ROM in zip form, put onto your phone and run recovery. Sweet as suzi, you will be debranded (if you were in the process of doing this , remember to make your gold card).
ISSUE:
1. Desire screen not switching on at all even though phone switches on.
2. Phone boots but doesn't go beyond bootloader/recovery/fastboot
3. Can get into recovery even though nothing comes on screen (test: press volume down and power. Wait for 10 seconds. Press volume down. Press power. Phone should vibrate. Wait 20 seconds. Phone should now be in recovery mode.)
4. Can get into fastboot (back+power)
5. No goldcard
CAUSE of ORIGINAL AUTHOR'S ISSUE:
I had Aura Sense7.9+AlphaRev S-Off. Cause::Ran a very old RUU just because I wanted to bring things back to stock. The RUU overwrote my HBOOT from 0.93 to god knows what. Turned out, the RUU was for amoled screens and not for SLCD screen. So even though the phone turned on, the screen never did......
I have a bit of an issue where the screen fades to black (almost immediately) whilst I'm on a call - either handheld or using bluetooth, and its a wee bit annoying!?!?
Oftentimes I need to access either the keypad (ie. for deleting answerphone messages etc) or calendar etc whilst on a call and its basically locks and I have to slide down and do my unlock code to get access?
Is there any way to stop this and force the phone to just show the call screen throughout any call?
After destroying my camera flash with with some app i managed to destroy also my LCD screen. I forgot to take my phone out my back pocket and sat down. Now the phone has a black spot in the middle for the LCD screen.
Do you think I should send it HTC service for warranty and let them replace the screen (guess it will be expensive) or should I replace it by myself?
Just got a new case for my Desire off eBay. When I have the Desire all the way inserted in the case and try to call a number, the screen goes BLACK. Yet the call can still be heard going through. I am NOT able to get it back no matter what button I press. Not even with POWER OFF for several seconds! Yet... if I push the phone up half an inch (see pic), the screen goes back every time and the buttons work. Did I mention that the screen is fine when the phone is fully inserted in the case, it only goes black when I make a call using the dialer?
I checked and none of the buttons seem to be depressed when the phone is in the case. Even if they were, it should not cause the screen to lock up like that in black, and the buttons as well.
Directly in the center of my screen there is a little white fleck, it looks like the tiniest peice of paper, about half a mm in size. At first i thought it was a dead pixel but when i locked the phone it is still there which suggests that it is dust/paper/other. I do not know how it got in there so i do not know how i can get it out, it doesn't move at all so it won't simply fall out any time soon.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was on the modaco rom but decided to try a different rom from xda. I used ROM manager but the screen was stuck on the HTC screen so i decided to cancel it. I did the follwing but its still stuck on the HTC screen. Turn off, hold vol down and press power. Boot into HBOOT. Use vol up and down to move through the menu and power to select. From here, Select recovery. At the screen with the desire and red triangle, press vol up and power. Select Wipe data/factory reset.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently tried to root my HTC desire using UNrevoked 3.1. Everything was going well and I even had the desktop gui tell me that the process was "done", however the phone never made it into the green and black recovery menu, and now when I try and enter the recovery menu the phone gives a black screen. I then have to do a hard reset by taking out the battery. I have tried running unrevoked again with the same results and have tried using Rom manager to enter recovery this way, niether of which have helped.
I've spent alot of time searching without answers, if any one thinks they can help or just point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.
