Noticed a single stuck red pixel on my screen... was so excited about the phone that I didn't wanna return it and have to wait a few days for a replacement since all the radioshacks around my area are sold out.

I love my new vibrant and recently developed a dead pixel. I've whipped my phone clear of finger prints now and still when I open my flashlight application, I find a single blue pixel. Unless it's grey/black it becomes quite annoying. I hardly notice it with my nexus one live wallpaper but thats about the only time I don't notice it. Should I stop complaining and deal with it or should ask for a replacement and throw out 10 bucks(and later pay 15 for a new screen protector)to ship it back hoping it doesn't get lost by the postal service which would mean I'd have to pay for the replacement/further deal with hell in that situation(Sorry, never had good times with them)and start backing up now?
View 21 Replies View Related8 days into my new Evo and I have a stuck pixel... I ran JScreenFix for 30minutes and the pixel is still stuck on green(persistent punk). I'm running it again for a longer period of time and hoping it works out well. I wouldn't mind as much but the pixel is ~1cm off center. It's irritating as heck. Has anyone been able to fix a stuck pixel? Methods?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have some png files that I am applying a color to. The color changes depending on a user selection. I change the color via 3 RGB values set from another method. The png files are a random shape with full transparency outside the shape. I don't want to modify the transparency, only the RGB value. Currently, I'm setting the RGB values pixel by pixel (see code below).I've come to realize this is incredibly slow and possibly just not efficient enough do in an application. Is there a better way I could do this? Here is what I am currently doing. You can see that the pixel array is enormous for an image that takes up a decent part of the screen

This would be an easy calculation to do if I knew what the horizontal and vertical dimensions of the screen were, but I can't seem to find that information anywhere.
If anyone knows the pixel density or even just the exact X and Y dimensions of the screen..

View 2 Replies View Relatednote: this is an artist rendition because my digital camera is terrible and i couldn't figure out how to get the dust in the shot. but it looks just like this. it's a black speck under the screen that can only be seen on bright surfaces and only if you are looking at the screen head on. i'm not sure if it might be a dead pixel. i can certainly live with this problem although i'd prefer if it wasn't there.
1. is this a dead pixel or dust?
2. how do i fix this, can i just exchange it at the vzw store whenever they stop being sold out?
I want each pixel on the screen to flash between red, blue, green, white, and black but independently of each other. Is this possible? I have been searching everywhere with out any luck. Any help on where to start would be greatly appreciated.

I knwe that dpi (dot per inch) came from the printing device. 160 dpi means 160 dots in every inch on the paper. However, when dpi is used for the screen density, for example, what's mentioned '160 dpi screen' in Android document, what's the meaning? 160 pixels on every inch of the display?
As described in http://code.google.com/intl/zh-CN/android/reference/available-resourc..., 1 dip (density-independent pixel) means 1 pixel on a 160 dpi screen. Why does the ratio of dp-to-pixel not necessarily change with the screen density in direct proportion?
When the dpi is changed from 160 to 80, how many pixels will 1dp will take? 0.5?
I can hardly understand why dip/dp is introduced into Android.
I've had a HTC Evo now for 2/3 weeks, and I love it! But over the last few days it's started to act funny....
What it's doing is lets say I unlock the phone and have it laying on my desk, in the past it would show the screen in portrait orientation....but over the lat 2/3 days its been jumping to landscape and I have to pick up the phone, tilt it to get it back to portrait, and if I lay it back down it will go back to landscape.
This is mainly annoying when checking emails/texts/etc, but also if I am on the train and holding it near my waste, depending on the angle it will bounce back and forth from portrait to landscape!
I originally did a reformat when I bought it, and I am going to do it again shortly to see if that helps....just wondering if anyone else had this problem and if it's fixable (and yes i do want auto rotation)....
My phone has a few other problems such as minor light leakage, and a dead pixel (which I was going to look past and keep the phone)...so if this is something wrong with the hardware it would be a pretty good reason to get a replacement within my 30 days....

View 4 Replies View RelatedDirectly in the center of my screen there is a little white fleck, it looks like the tiniest peice of paper, about half a mm in size. At first i thought it was a dead pixel but when i locked the phone it is still there which suggests that it is dust/paper/other. I do not know how it got in there so i do not know how i can get it out, it doesn't move at all so it won't simply fall out any time soon.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI rooted my Inc with the Evo tool, and installed a ROM through ROM manager, after deciding that I did not want to keep the ROM, I tried to restore back to the stock rooted ROM I had before through the clockworkmod/nandroid options. Now the phone is stuck at the white screen that reads, "htc incredible" and none of the buttons will cause anything to happen. I was debating on doing a battery pull and restarting, but I believe I read somewhere that doing so would brick the phone.
Update: Did a battery pull and was able to boot into the HBOOT and run the nandroid recovery again, I am trying it now to see if I can get back to the original ROM.

After rerestoring the phone, the boot animation runs all the way through and the phone starts back up.
Flashed a Fresh ROM, did a wipe cache and dalvik before flashing but now I'm stuck in the white htc evo 4g screen. Tried to reflash didn't work. I've pulled out the battery and powered on while holding volume down. This is what the screen reads:

I can boot into ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.1 but my backup and nandroid files can't be located. Sometimes I get the Android with the exclamation point, sometimes not. PCIMG36.zip image can't be found either. I think my phone is screwed! I've searched through the forums and googled and tried out a many things but to no avail. Also, does doing all this through a Mac make a difference?
Been creating a theme last few days. I installed it on my phone, but before doing so i was a good boy and did a nandroid backup. Then i didnt like osme of the things i changed so i restored my backup i just did now its stuck after restoring on the white htc evo screen. NOT GOOD!! I even pulled the battery and SD Card...twice.
View 4 Replies View Relatedso im on my second eris root. all is well thus far, accept now i am trying to boot from recovery to put vanilladroid on it, and i cant get into recovery mode. i didnt have this problem with the last phone i did this to, and i dont know what im doing wrong at this point. i have reloaded amon's recovery image, and done all of that process over again. nothing works, when i boot power/volume up, all i get is the skateboard guys, then the exclamation point inside a triangle, with a phone laying down. "button mashing" on the end and send buttons then leads the phone to reboot back to normal mode. i even tried to reboot recovery from adb, and still got this end result. i am out of ideas (as im no programmer...)also, i have tried to get on irc, but keep getting booted, even when switching sn's.so ive given up on that as well
View 5 Replies View RelatedLast night, played a couple of rounds on Wordfeud and I'm assuming the battery went dead. Now I'm stuck on HTC screen when I boot up. Won't even show CM6 loadup screen. I charged it for a couple minutes and even booted into recovery with no luck. Battery pull doesn't do it either. Have I bricked my phone? I'm not quite understanding why it's not loading up anything. BTW: During the recovery screen, it said I had the RA image there so I doubt it's not on my card to boot up as I know that if you don't have this then it won't boot up.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was on the modaco rom but decided to try a different rom from xda. I used ROM manager but the screen was stuck on the HTC screen so i decided to cancel it. I did the follwing but its still stuck on the HTC screen. Turn off, hold vol down and press power. Boot into HBOOT. Use vol up and down to move through the menu and power to select. From here, Select recovery. At the screen with the desire and red triangle, press vol up and power. Select Wipe data/factory reset.

I had cyan 5.0.4. - I wiped and flashed to 5.0.5 and now i cannot get past the boot.
I've tried booting back into recovery and wiping and doing a nandroid recovery to 'amon's recovery 1.7.0' but to no avail.
Model no- Reliance ZTE V9C
Not booting & stuck on Reliance welcome screen. I have not installed any apps in recent time neither did any sorts of tweaking.
I was on 4.2.1 rooted, I found on the notification center that 4.3 is downloaded and ready to install.
after clicking it, I got an error and it restarted and never passed the x screen.I tried hard reset wipe all data. no luck.
I tried N-Cry, nexus 7 toolkit.but nothing worked for me.
