I have a non-rooted Moment that I am trying to install eStrongs File Explorer & aDosBox on using adb install. Not working. Am I just fubar? The phone currently isn't on a plan so at best I can use WiFi at home (none that I can find at work that aren't secured). If I can just get eStrongs File Explorer installed then I can use that to install aDosBox.

I already rooted my phone and I already downloaded a few live wallpapers from the market.. but I want to install some others from my computer to the phone. I put some wallpaper files in a zip. and put the zip. on my phone. I then went into recovery mode and tried to extract them from the zip. but it didnt work.. How do I put live wallpapers on my Moment? It is already rooted, and it already has the capability.

The biggest concern I have is how fast will the Moment be rooted. Its sounding like they are close with the Hero, and once that is done will that make it easier for someone to figure out how to root the moment? Or is it like starting from scratch from phone to phone? Im also a bit concerned that no one at XDA will be helping with the process since the moment is not an HTC phone. I had a Treo800 when it first cameout, and it seemed like it took FOREVER for roms to make it way to that device. Any thoughts?

Don't see why it wouldn't work identically" I decided to give this a shot on the moment to no avail.I get all the way to "/data/local/asroot2 /system/bin/sh"then I receive "[1] Killed /data/local/asroot2 /system/bin/sh" not sure if I should get that or not But I tried to then remount /system as rw (mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system) and got "operation not permitted"Anyone give this a shot and get different results?

I am wondering if you are able to run a APK from a rooted hero on the moment?? I have a hero that is rooted running fresh 2.1.1 The wife has a moment that we are going to root shortly. She likes the yahoo messenger from my phone better then anything from the market and her stock one. So my question would be, since I have access to the apk's is it possible to add it to her phone and have it work?? She would also like me to be able to add the teeter program that only came on the hero. If this is possible please let me know so I can make her happy with her Yahoo again. this is how we chat when she is working so I would really like to be able to do it for her.

However, now my phone is overheating, battery life is about the same as before, (short) and I cannot tell there are any tangible improvements with the rooting procedure!... Applications take time to load up, and touching screen to open them freezes now and then constantly. Is it the phone or is it the rooting that is causing the problem??

Today it was acting a little buggy from a theme I installed so I decided to do a restore on it. Now it turns on an as soon as it gets to the sprint screen it goes back. I think it's still on but nothing responds I tried restoring it again but no results. Can anyone help?

I went to install the droid x Eye wallpaper - I transferred to my SD, then tried to install using Astro File Manager.. I get the popup stating that "For security, your phone is set to block installation of applications not sourced in the Android Market".
Is this because Astro is not using super user privileges?

Well, not so sweet, everything is moving extremely slow and there is an even bigger lag than before! Now this was happening before I removed apps so I know I didn't mess anything up there. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Moment, it's running the Radioactive Froyo rom(so it's rooted)...but I cant seem to download Launcherpro. I have tried to download it straight from the market...NO DICE! I went to the launcherpro website downloaded it straight to SD and used OI Installer AND Appinstaller to install...NO DICE! All I keep getting is an error message that says "install unsuccessful". Launcherpro's FAQ says that if this happens then you have an android OS that is not compatible, but says nothing on how to fix or what to do about it.
Searched high and low for help in other threads, but most of them focused on once the app was already downloaded (including the launcherpro website), I cant even get this one installed, I'm really stumped...and I dont want to be "that guy" who didnt do a search in order to find an answer to a simple problem, but honestly, I've been trying for two days to fix this.
I've had this phone for about 3 days and really like it.Today however I'm trying to customize my screen more, and find I can't add certain shortcuts or widgets.Basically any shortcut or widget that requires an extra step (like selecting which contact to put on) doesn't show up on the screen after the selection.
