Samsung Moment : Better Alarm Clock - Choice To Add A More Quieter Sound

Nov 16, 2009

I've used the default alarm clock that comes stock with the phone. Since I only need the alarm clock for weekday reminders, I'd prefer that the pone just vibrates or allows me to choose a more soothing "alarm" tone.

The only tones available for this alarm clock are extremely annoying and loud "alarms" that are not suitable in the classroom. (No, I am not a college student, but rather a principal at a private school.)

There are many ways to make the stock alarm clock work, but I can't find any of these settings.

I'd like to change the stock alarm clock program to simply vibrate with no alarm noise.
I'd like the choice to add a more quieter alarm sound, or lower the sound of the alarm ringer.
I'd like to change the functions of the buttons on the side of the phone--default settings are to snooze the alarm I guess? By the time I get the phone out of my pocket, one of the side keys are pressed, dooming to another annoying sound in exactly 10 minutes.

Android :: HTC Desire Vs Samsung Galaxy S

Nov 5, 2010

I have to change my phone soon and want an android phone, after a bit of research it seems that the best ones are the samsung galaxy s and the HTC Desire. But there are contradicting reviews, some say one is better, others say the other is better.

Ive also heard about some glitches in the galaxy s about lag, 3g and gps, any idea if those are real and if so can they be fixed?

I am due for an upgrade but I am not sure if I should get the HTC Desire or wait for the Samsung Galaxy S? So basically here are the pro's and con's: Galaxy pro's: 4 inch Super AMOLED screen is superior to the Desires Camera is superior, can record HD video More attractive (IMO), even though its close 1500mah battery (longer battery life than Desire's 1400mah) No flash player (how good is the Desires flash player anyway?)

When connecting my Galaxy-S to the Samsung Kies software, my telephone shows up with an incorrect telephone number. I did change the sim-card (and subsequent number) since first using it, but I never logged intio Kies with the old sim-card.The phone is rooted. How do I get Kies (or my Samsung phone) to show my current telephone number? In the phone properties (Menu, Settings, About, Status) the same wrong number is shown. When calling, the receiver sees the correct telephone number. So the issue is not operator related but telephone related.

Samsung Galaxy S :: Samsung Galaxy S - Android - Managing Google Contacts

Sep 5, 2010

I have configured my Samsung Galaxy S using my normal Gmail account. This has helped me to sync the Google Contacts with my phone.

Following are my questions:

1. Right now I have about a thousand google contacts synced to my phone. I want to remove them at one go. I know how to disable them from being appearing in contact list, but I want to know if I can delete them without going to factory settings.

2. I am using three applications (a) Gmail (b) Contacts (3) MVOIP. I want to know if there is a way that following combination works:
a- Google contacts appear on Gmail app
b- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "Contacts"
c- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "MVOIP application".

I know how to do

(a) - By synchronising google contacts,
(b) - by choosing display options
(c) - I do not know how to handle this and I want help.

HTC Eris :: Looking For A Rom Of My Choice

I have to give props out to the Aloysius rom. I have read all kinds of posts about how Xtrom is the best and how it is so fast and nothing can compare, but I have tried them all and I always come back to the Aloysius rom. For me, it seems to be as quick as xtrom and quicker then any other. The graphics are fantastic, and i have had zero issues with it. Just my two cents, but I thought i would share if someone is looking for a great rom.

Android :: Samsung Galaxy Spica Or Samsung Galaxy I7500

Jul 12, 2010

I was originally going to get either the HTC Hero or Motorola Droid but found out they are both CMDA. and the Milestone is out of my budget. People have been suggesting to get the Samsung Galaxy S, that's also out of my budget and looks too much like an iPhone. So i stumbled upon these two phones.I'm leaning more towards the Spica because it has superior battery life, and 800mhz compared to the 528mhz the i7500 has. and it can also play DivX.What's making it a difficult decision is the i7500 has an AMOLED Screen. It can display 16,777,216 Colors while the Spica can only display 65,536 Colors I'm not too sure if that will make a difference. Also it has 5mp w/LED Flash while Spica is only 3.2.One phone has a little of both. This will be my first Android phone I'm coming from a Sony Ericsson W995.

Samsung Galaxy S :: Intermittent Wifi On Samsung Galaxy S Captivate

Nov 10, 2010

I have recently picked up a Samsung Galaxy S Captivate (Android 2.1) on Rogers Wireless. I've been having an issue with the wifi on it, it only works intermittently when I'm at home. It will connect to my network without issues, but none of the data-enabled apps can access anything, they just time out. While this is happening my old iPhone (recent android convert) and my Nintendo Wii are able to connect flawlessly. This ONLY happens when I'm at home on my own network from what I've seen, when I'm on the wifi at my work everything works fine. Has anyone seen issues like this or have any suggestions as to what may be causing it? FYI I have tried different wifi channels, currently my router is setup to use TKIP on WPA2 for encryption.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Best Choice For Me.

Sep 15, 2010

I tried to love the X10 and I did love the camera and how they tried to make 1.6 more bearable. All in all it's a great phone. But coming from the Droid and being a power user of sorts it didn't quite quench my gadget ****. Alas, I went and turned my X10 back for a Captivate at the At&t store. The Captivate is great but I do miss the camera on the X10. But I got a good deal on a X10 for my daughter. She loves taking pictures, as I just bought her a vintage Minolta Hi-Matic 9 to add to her vintage collection. Even though I moved on to another phone, yet I have to keep her updated. And Sony please don't let my daughter down. Give her some 2.1 love. 2.2 would be even sweeter. Because the first thing she asked was what Android version was on the phone. Coming from a 11 year old.
