HTC Desire :: Home Page - Missing Vital Element
Oct 29, 2010I find the stock browser good enough but missing a vital element, a home button. I have a fair number of bookmarks now, it is a pain km scroll to Google all the time.

Android :: Scaling Web Page In WebView Element
Nov 30, 2009I'm loading a URL into a WebView and I'm having difficulty setting the "scale" of the web-page. Specifically, the web-page is too big (800x600) for the screen, so my thought is to use "setInitialScale(50)" to reduce the size. Here is some sample code that doesn't work (i.e. the web-page doesn't scale to 50%)
WebView wv = (WebView)findViewById(R.id.webview);
wv.loadUrl("http://www.example.com/android/symptom");
wv.setInitialScale(50);
I also tried switching the order of the function calls but I get the same resultŠi.e.,
WebView wv = (WebView)findViewById(R.id.webview); wv.setInitialScale(50); wv.loadUrl("http://www.example.com/android/symptom");
As an alternative, I have tried to use the "zoomOut()" function like this:
WebView wv = (WebView)findViewById(R.id.webview);
wv.loadUrl("http://www.example.com/android/symptom"); wv.zoomOut();
This approach works for a split second, and then the image reverts to its original size.

HTC Desire HD :: Weather Forecast On Home Page
Nov 24, 2010Does anyone know who supplies the pre-installed weather app on the Home page of the Desire HD? I have found that it is not very accurate; my friend's app on his iphone (Yahoo, I believe) is better. Can you change the standard one on the HD? Also the standard app does not support many towns in the UK.

Apr 14, 2014I have the tronsmart CX-919 mini pc running 4.2 and there is an issue with the browser reverting back to the home page or the previous page. When I try to display a webpage on our intranet it reverts back to the homepage or previous page after about 3 hours. I need it to display constantly. I read somewhere that it was a Download Manager issue and disabling it would work but I can't find where to disable it. Also it was stated that Flash was an issue but i tried uninstalling it and it just reinstalled itself and the problem kept occurring. I just want to display a page in a browser and for it to stay on the screen (full screen) until I manually navigate away from it. I plan to leave it on for weeks at a time.

Jun 15, 2010Why is it every time I go to the internet, the last page viewed shows? I have my home page set to "Google." Shouldn't Google be the page that shows up? Also, it seems to save the history, even after I delete history, cookies, caches. Why? I was told to try and keep this, as well as deleted email, empty or the phone may become slow.

Aug 16, 2010Just downloaded ADW and at the bottom of my home page I had 3 little icons. One was for the dialler, one was to open the app drawer and the 3rd was (I think) to dial the last number. Well I tried to see if i could change the "dial last number" (Which dialled a number OTHER than the last number dialled btw :-p) and somehow I deleted the thing.... Is there anyway I can get it back?
