View 20 RepliesI have a problem since few days with sw HTC Locations ( I think is that).
Let me explain, often when I'm using the phone asks me to turn on the GPS because otherwise the navigator of Location does not work, when I do cancels and then get out, I came back after just 15 seconds and then continues with the same demands indefinitely.
I reset phone and I formatted the memory card , but now after reconfiguring the mobile phone presents itself to me again, what would it be?
I also checked with Kaspersky, but nothing found. That practically stops me using a mobile phone?
A client of mine also has an Eris and I was helping her get her navigation system set up and teach her how to use it. I wanted to put the google navigator icon (the blue arrow) on her home screen but could not find it anywhere in her apps. I did find the google navigation (map icon) app and set that up for her. So, my questions are: What is the difference between the two? How come I couldn't find the navigator app on her phone (on mine, it's under "programs")?

Before the update to 2.1 I had a couple installed (SlideIT and another) and they worked fine, but now they don't, even after a reinstall
For example, if I try to input an address the following happens...
Typing a b c d will result in aabaabcaabcd
I had to do a factory reset on my Incredible. I went to download Google Navigator again but couldn't find it on the marketplace. Is it still available?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid Eris running OTA 2.1. I just tried using Google Navigator for the first time this morning. When I ran it it led me to install the text to speech app. Unfortunately, I had my SD card mounted (for music in my car) at the time and the install failed. I dropped out, un-mounted the card, manually installed the app, and re-started Google Nav. I have no sound in it at all now. It is not muted, and the nav volume is at max. I have heard it work on my wife's phone. The nav software was my main reason for getting an Android phone. Does anyone have any suggestions or am I going to have to factory reset?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't keep up that much with the latest and greatest for my Ally but this morning I saw a system update notice and decided to go ahead and update. It seemed to go smooth enough but as the post title suggests my Google Navigation crashes back to the boot screen whenever I try and use the app.

I have Copilot 8.2.0.218 and Australian maps installed and wanted to purchase the Nth American ones for US$2.99 from the market. Will doing this upgrade copilot to 8.2.0.368 and then will my current maps still work?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new HTC Desire and I was hoping to transfer my TomTom Navigator 7 to it, unfortunately TomTom do not have support for Androids so I purchased CoPilot 8. Apart from a few installation problems which have been sorted by CoPilot? Technical service I am very pleased with it. The CoPilot starts up in a few seconds and the Satellites register in about 15 seconds, (this is realy fast compared to TomTom, on my HTC Tytn ll which can take anything up to 10 minutes). The maps I purchased for ?57 cover the east and west europe are very sharp and the voice navigation is very good. The same maps from TomTom are about 3 times as much.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have an android application which allows the user to open up google maps or navigator to show a certain address. This functionality was working in the past, but now I get the following error and the app crashes:
ERROR/AndroidRuntime(2165):
android.content.ActivityNotFoundException:
No Activity found to handle Intent { act=android.intent.action.VIEW
dat=google.navigation:q=MCNAMARA+TERMINAL+ROMULUS+MI+48174 }
The two intents I'm using are-
1) For Map:
String uri = "geo:0,0?q=MCNAMARA+TERMINAL+ROMULUS+MI+48174";
Intent i = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW, Uri.parse(uri));
startActivity(i);
2) For Navigator:
String uri = "google.navigation:q=MCNAMARA+TERMINAL+ROMULUS+MI+48174";
Intent i = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW, Uri.parse(uri));
startActivity(i);
I did some testing with the Navigator yesterday and I have to say it's absolutely awesome. I'm not sure if anyone has posted this, couldn't find any mention of it, but I want to share my battery usage experience with it as well as some other cool things I noticed.
Very cool battery saver:
I used it for a 15-minute drive, keeping it only in the Notification Bar. When you are in the Navigation app, you can press the Home softkey to go back to your home screen. This keeps Navigator working in the background, but it is not drawing the maps and using the screen. You can press the Power button to put your phone to sleep, and the voice actually still talks to you and tells you when to turn. And even better, I started this trip with 76% battery and ended with 76% battery.
Now, the not-so-cool.
I used it for a 30-minute drive, keeping the screen on and letting it show me the map the entire way. I started the drive with 54% battery ended with 34% battery. So definitely keep it on the charger if you are using it for a long drive. But another awesome thing I noticed. I made a phone call toward the end of my destination, just to see what would happen. I used the Home key to back out of the Navigator (but keeping it in the background, as I said above), then made my call as normal. The Navigator still gave me directions while I was on the phone. It came through the earpiece now, so the other person doesn't hear it. How freaking cool is that?
I cannot adjust the volume on Copilot 8. Whatever I do, I always reverts to it's own setting!! It's really a problem!!
View 4 Replies View RelatedAm I doing something wrong? If I am using Google Maps/Navigator - happily following along as my car wends it's way down the street and I have to exit to say, answer a phone call, look at another app. when I go back into Navigator my destination info is gone. I have to re-enter my destination.

View 8 Replies View RelatedJust got back from a 500 mile road trip. I was using the Droid X car dock and Google Navigator. I noticed that about after 15 minutes the phone would no longer be actively charging (the lightning bolt icon in the battery was not displaying). Within two hours the battery was depleted. I know Navigator is still in beta.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy push mail on Gmail stopped working in the last few days and I realised it was about the same time I installed CoPilot.
I've tried removing some apps and resetting the device but still no push email.
Unfortunately this happened a few weeks ago and it was down to google servers which fixed itself after a while.
Can someone explain to me how it works? Did a search on google and couldnt find the info I thought I knew about it. Am I right in thinking that it is via this that chrome/firefox to phone works, and that you can do backup and restore to and from the cloud? If so, how does one go about that?And in that case, is the cloud better for backing up than lookout? Cause I'm thinking of getting look out now that my wavesecure free trial is over (dont really want to spend $19.99 if lookout is just as good and free?)
View 2 Replies View Relatedwhen i first got my HTC Desire i set it up with my google account which i use for everything, gmail,calendar etc. everything worked fine until i went to the market place, i couldn't download anything, it just kept saying download failed please try again this really annoyed me so i did factory reset twice but still the same problem. so the i reset again and in setup this time i choose to make a new google account instead of using my current one, and when it was all done, yup you guessed it, the market place worked! anyone any ideas why this is like this and why i couldnt use my original account?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWell, I rooted my Eris to 2.1, mainly for the Navigator option, and all seems to be alright EXCEPT Google maps & Navigation. I get a exception message and only option is a Forced Close.
Have tried the Manage Apps-Filter--Do not get option to delete Updates--only choice is to clear data.
If I do that, where will I re download the google maps app?
I have google voice and use it for every phone call I make. I heard that there were issues with several gvoice updates, so I haven't updated google voice since 0.2.8 and it is working just fine- every call connects, no problems. Is it worth updating to the newest version of google voice with push? For those of you with 2.1 on your Eris- does google voice work for you?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI've had an HTC Desire on Orange in the UK for about 6 weeks and it is having persistent problem. Firstly despite having a strong 4-bar out of 4 signal, online services and the internet do not work at all when a 3G signal is being received (e.g. news, weather, all widgets, internet, email etc).Calls and texts do work however with a 3G signal.But when a 3g+ signal (HSDPA) is being received, all internet services as above work fine.However, when a 3+ signal is being received, the phone does not make or receive calls or text messages, and often fails to send texts. Calls I make immediately shut down (bleep + call ended), and incoming calls from other people go straight to answerphone. Also often when turning the data connection on/off, it freezes and has to be rebooted, and turning airplane setting on and off does not fix the problem.
I have also tried the different network settings (GSM, WCDMA, auto, etc). GSM sends and receives calls and texts but doesnt work (or is incredibly slow) with internet, and auto and WCDMA only show the problems as above.I don't think this is a network/coverage issues as, as I have seen many people reporting these same issues on other networks and in other parts of the UK, and I have read that other people are having to manually turn off HSDPA to be able to make calls (using an app?). Even if I can stop HSDPA from connecting to make sure the phone works, I still cant use the internet at all on 3g even GSM works better!
Finally, when I connect to a bluetooth device (e.g. car and headphones) the phone will connect briefly, and then randomly disconnect. I have also seen this issue reported elsewhere.I very much like the phone and don't want to get rid of it, but these problems are making the phone unuseable.Also I don't know if I should be contacting HTC or Orange about this. Will the upcoming Android 2.2 fix these problems?Anyone know how to fix this or if I need a new handset? Are there any apps that can help? Also does the Nexus One have these problems and are they fixed by Froyo?
Does copilot live 8 run from SD in 2.2? It's a huge app on the phone's memory and I hope I can run it from the SD card when 2.2 comes to my desire from my service provider.
