I could easily do this on my old sony ericsson K800 phone. What I mean is adding notes where you can see the writing of the note on the home page,the events widget sort of allows this but is there an application actually designed for it?

i saw on some of the user interfaces that you can list your notes on a home screen. how to do that?. if i long press on a home screen it brings up note everything but not a list of all my items. i wanted to be able to see my list of things to do on the home screen. if this is not the right app to do that
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm running 2.1 on a HTC Desire and I have a wierd problem with my contacts.Prior to purchasing my Desire I used a Nokia N96, all my contacts were stored on the SIM card which I just popped into my new Desire.If I go into Phone I see all my contacts with their numbers displayed underneath, however if I go to "People" I only see the contact with no number associated with it, if I go to edit a contact it does not show any number at all.Also if I send a text from another number (which is stored in "People") the text delivers and show only the number it was sent from, it does not link to the stored contact.I copied all SIM contacts to the Phone to see if this made any difference, alas it did not!

Ii haven't made any big changes to my Desire and all was working well. suddenly a couple of days ago i noticed that things slowed down significantly.
exmples: when drawing the unlock screen, there is a big lag till the home screen comes up huge lag in opening programmes or menus
so, the only app i recently installed was the BA (british airways) android app. could this have affected the whole phone?
what steps can i take to check what might be wrong?looking at the SPARE PARTS app, i can see that CPU usage shows a huge bar for "init".i don't know if this is a normal process? anyone got info on this? might have nothing to do with my phone lagging of course.
Just curious how other users have their home screens configured - looking for inspiration really as I currently have 2 spare...!

If I receive an SMS text message when I am away from my phone, most of the message can be read on my home screen by anybody near the phone. Is there anywhere in the settings to prevent this invasion of privacy happening?

In the midst of customizing my phone I'm trying to make a Short Cut to "Add to Home Screen" but I can't figure it out.
I'm using FolderOrganizerLite to do this btw...and I also have Any Cut and am using LauncherPro.
I would also like a customized icon with this shortcut
I hope someone can help, I appear to have deleted my date & weather widget from my home screen I was touching the screen to scroll but for some reason it dragged the widget and binned it.I have to admit Im still getting used to having a touch screen.is there any way that I can get this back without having to do a factory reset I tried to add the weather widget to the home screen but its not showing as the one that was there.

How do you rename the folder? Because I'd like to call it texts and set one up for calls. But when I create another folder, it is again called "folder". So you can't differentiate between the two.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOn the Desire home screen I have a clock with what should be the weather info underneath which is the standard home screen.The weather info is blank apart from the name of a nearby village which i believe is where the nearest phone mast is located. (the picture on the box the phone came shows Barcelona with lots of weather info).If I tap on the blank area next to whe name I get the weather screen opening up with the name of the village where the mast is, and the word "current" in brackets next to it and the info is all showing "0" if I update it the message appears "no weather data available".I can chose another location (various pre loaded or choose Manchester UK by searching ) then choosing my desired location which then shows data.When I return to the main desire home screen the village name is back under the clock with no weather info.I guess the HTC is trying to get the weather data for the mast location nearest my phone as a default setting, I dont know how or if I can override this so that I can have my desired location (ie Manchester uk) wether data showing under the clock on the home page permanently.

View 2 Replies View RelatedRight, my problem is that the orange home screen is starting itself up. I'm not selecting it and its not my default one so it shouldn't be being used. Looking at Task manager it looks like it's self launching. How can I prevent this? I wouldn't really bother if it was just this but it launches 9 other apps along with it which are using up my data allowance and battery. It's really annoying and only just started happening out of the blue with out any new apps being installed or changed. Task manager is shutting it down when the screen turns off but it just relaunches itself every time and I'm sick of my battery being eaten.

I would like to run the desire without the sense UI and instead just run the plain android UI for a while, my problem is that when I disable Sense I am just left with the Orange home screen selector! If you go to the application section in the settings, click on touchflo and click clear defaults. Then press home. Select, "Home" over "Touchflo", do you get the nexus one style homescreen?

The two on the left, SMS and Mail, are widget icons for counters and the two on the right are direct app launchers, but yesterday they stared to show out of alignment.
Only had the phone 5 days.Due to battery life i tend to switch it off overnight.Powered it on this morning(i was half awake!) and it hasn't booted to the home screen?Instead there's a white screen with three androids on skateboards at the bottom and i have to choose one of four options?Fast boot,recovery,clear storage or simlock?Why has it done this?Or how have 'i' done this lol.I've left the phone in this state so would a fairly quick answer if possible as i need to use the phone.

Is this normal?
When I use the back button to get to the home screen it does no do this.

View 10 Replies View Relatedthe "messages" icon on the home screen is a sort of envelope speech bubble looking yoke when there are new sms text messages you get a small green circle over this icon with the number of unread messages in it. how do you clear this?
I hit the icon and get a screen of my text messages none are highlighted in bold to say what's unread AND even after opening them all and going back to the home screen the damn green circle is still there. after a while it goes again?any ideas?
Is the HTC Desire Notes Widget useless? You can write notes fairly easily - but the only way to view, eg the last note, is to delete the top one until you get down to the last. Is there some way to flick through these notes easily? Otherwise i'll just go back to ak notepad (which is good, but you can't draw a note).
