View 5 RepliesI hope someone can help, I appear to have deleted my date & weather widget from my home screen I was touching the screen to scroll but for some reason it dragged the widget and binned it.I have to admit Im still getting used to having a touch screen.is there any way that I can get this back without having to do a factory reset I tried to add the weather widget to the home screen but its not showing as the one that was there.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOn the Desire home screen I have a clock with what should be the weather info underneath which is the standard home screen. The weather info is blank apart from the name of a nearby village which i believe is where the nearest phone mast is located. (the picture on the box the phone came shows Barcelona with lots of weather info). If I tap on the blank area next to whe name I get the weather screen opening up with the name of the village where the mast is, and the word "current" in brackets next to it and the info is all showing "0" if I update it the message appears "no weather data available".I can chose another location (various pre loaded or choose Manchester UK by searching ) then choosing my desired location which then shows data. When I return to the main desire home screen the village name is back under the clock with no weather info.I guess the HTC is trying to get the weather data for the mast location nearest my phone as a default setting, I dont know how or if I can override this so that I can have my desired location (ie Manchester uk) wether data showing under the clock on the home page permanently.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe weather has disappeared right where the digital clock is on the home screen. It says the current town, but no weather data appears. Has anyone had this problem?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am getting a Hero on Monday from Orange with the 500mb deal. I have seen on adverts that the Hero has a home screen with updated weather on it etc? To get this feature does the phone have to be constantly online? If so wouldnt this be pointless and use the allowance very fast?
View 6 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know who supplies the pre-installed weather app on the Home page of the Desire HD? I have found that it is not very accurate; my friend's app on his iphone (Yahoo, I believe) is better. Can you change the standard one on the HD? Also the standard app does not support many towns in the UK.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis seems a little ridiculous. The droid obviously has a weather widget but we can't add it to our page.
View 12 Replies View RelatedJust me or is anyone elses weather way off, its 2:05am right now in Minneapolis, MN and it says "sunny" and 57 which it obviously is not. I tried other locations from Chicago, to Miami, to San Diego and they all say sunny or cloudy when the sun obviously is not out in any of these cities, then I tried tokyo where it is 2pm rigtht now and it says "clear" with the moon picture and it obviously cannot be dark if its 2pm, so what is wrong with my weather widget.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe weather widdget works fine on the home screen and updates, but all of the sudden now when I click on the widget to bring me the the 4-day forcast it keeps saying "No weather data available".
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs it just me or is anybody else having problems with the weather disappearing from their home screen? It started after I upgraded to 2.1. Underneath the clock it just goes blank and i have to go into weather and refresh for it to come back. Then a little while later it will be blank again.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have it set up update hourly, and it will show it to be sunny, even until 8PM sometimes 9PM.It's not exactly sunny at that time of day, I'd more expect to see the moon by that time of evening. Is this just weird, or is it just using the "official" sunset time of 8 something and calling it sunny until then? I'm a very new Hero user.I'm within my 30 days, and very tempted to take my Hero back and get a Evo, but, don't want to spend the extra $$ for the Evo, and don't need the extra monthly expense either!
View 10 Replies View RelatedJust curious what is on everyone's home screen. Not the extra screens to the left or right, but the main one.
I'm looking for ideas.
Mine has:
HTC clock/weather widget
messages widget
mail widget
shortcut to sms for my friend and wife
battery widget
task killer
lockme widget
and a folder with my most used apps
I accidentally removed my Clock and weather widget that displays on the home screen by default. Does anyone know how to get it back. I went to the HTC widgets but I don't see it.
View 7 Replies View RelatedHow do i put the stock weather widget on my home screen. The one it came with. When i go to add widget and select weather its gives me three options or size. The first needs it on home screen the other two are really small.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI trying to find a good clock/weather app for the top of my main home screen. I'm looking for something that will cover 1 layer, not 2.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do i get the big clock/weather widget on my home screen? I love that thing. Anything else I should do to my D2 right off the bat?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have always been a little uncomfortable with the HTC widget on the home screen that took a large 2x4 block (2 rows x 4 columns) out of the home screen to display the time and weather.. especially because I wanted a few more apps to be displayed on my home screen that I regularly use..
So I removed the HTC clock widget that displayed the large 4x4 clock and weather and instead dropped the HTC clock widget that is 1x2 (5 of the 12 choices available in that widget).. and the HTC weather widget right next to it (or even below it).. which is also a 1x2 size..(choice 3 of 3 in that widget)..
so I basically get the same information with regards to time and weather..and I also end up saving 1 row, which can be filled with 4 additional apps.
Another tip: Instead of using the HTC favorites widget to peg your favorite people to call a touch away.. use the shortcut/add person to peg them on screen. The favorite widget takes a lot more space especially when you don't fill it up.
just got my desire did a silly thing draged the big clock and weather thing off my home page and lost them how do I get them back.
View 5 Replies View RelatedTurned my phone on and the Weather Widget on the main screen is gone and when I try and add the HTC weather widget it says not enough space on the screen. Any ideas?

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust wondering if anyone else is experiencing a problem with the full screen weather widget where when you scroll to it it says "Loading Data" then goes completely blank and then cant do anything with it. Removing the widget and re-adding makes it work again a reboot also brings it back to life for a couple of seconds but then goes blank. Clicking on the weather picture on the clock still brings up the details weather screen.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy friend had an HTC Desire HD and it impressed me so much i actually wanted to but it off him, even though its about 2x worse in specs than my current phone, but it has the most beautiful user interface i've ever seen.I'm talking about the HTC DHD weather unlock animation.I first noticed it when i asked the friend to make a call and upon unlocking the phone the screen froze over and it started to snow, it was pretty amazed by how good it looked, and how accurate it was since it was really snowing outside. Here it is. ( not my video, but exactly the same thing)
HTC Desire HD Weather Animation Snow - YouTube
I think this is one of the best looking widgets/launchers i've ever seen, and i have a question, not as much as a request.I do know that this is "exclusive" to sense, most likely 3.0, but would it be theoretically possible to rip out the launcher/weather widget you saw in the video? I'm currently using a SONY Xperia GO , and i would like to port the needed things to it from sense (3.0?) to it. How do i do it? i've downloaded 20+ widgets/apps from the play store and didn't find anything ever NEAR as beautiful, or as functional. Most of the apps/widgets require you to click on the widget to see a weather animation, thats not what i want.
How do i port the sense (3.0?) launcher/weather widget? Is there an app that is as functional and looks similar?
I've done some googling, but haven't been able to discern if a specific app has a widget for the home screen that displays local weather radar. Preferably it could be refreshed manually so that the battery isn't constantly crushed, however even finding an app with a desktop radar widget would be great. New to Android, won a Samsung Galaxy Tab at an office party a couple weeks ago.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to disable the screen that shows all the 7 screens after tapping the home screen? If not disable get rid of it all together.
Or maybe an app to do so?
Ii haven't made any big changes to my Desire and all was working well. suddenly a couple of days ago i noticed that things slowed down significantly.
exmples: when drawing the unlock screen, there is a big lag till the home screen comes up huge lag in opening programmes or menus
so, the only app i recently installed was the BA (british airways) android app. could this have affected the whole phone?
what steps can i take to check what might be wrong?looking at the SPARE PARTS app, i can see that CPU usage shows a huge bar for "init".i don't know if this is a normal process? anyone got info on this? might have nothing to do with my phone lagging of course.
Just curious how other users have their home screens configured - looking for inspiration really as I currently have 2 spare...!
-2 Icons for frequently used apps
-1 HTC Calendar widget on agenda view
HOME Small clock, Icons for Messages, GMail, Calendar, Maps and HTC People
+1 Shortcut icons for frequently used mobile websites
+2 HTC "post it" Notes widget (downloadable extras)
I tap weather icon, get current location no city name and the weather info, I then tap "+" hit my location and it finds my city Corning NY, I add this to the weather app, I close out and hit weather app again and now I have to locations, the one that says current location and the one that says Corning NY, both weather datas are the same. My question is how to I delete or get rid of the current location weather data screen and have only the Corning NY screen when I open the weather app? The data for both is the same but I don't want 2 locations(one named) for the same data.
